That would have been so much better than this. She would have got paid for an honest couple of hours work and walked away with her freedom. Instead, she has sold her financial future and she will serve prison time. Bankman-Fried basically pimped her. This is Chappelle's Iceberg Slim story again.

She provided very unsophisticated responses and really danced around managing risk. I also love the guilt when losing $1,000 trade yet seemed ok to ultimately go on to lose 10,000,000,000. What a piece of work.

to be fair, "sophistication" in a response is mostly contingent upon personality and charisma rather than competency. someone can be good at giving sophisticated answers without having all that much real, genuine competency. it's entirely possible for a highly-educated, experienced person to also have a poor ability at expressing themselves, although, since verbal agility is probably the most g-loaded of the intelligences, this is unlikely... but not impossible. moot point here, of course, but the point remains.

@@laurens4359 Imaginary numbers are an actual advanced math concept with i= squart root of -1. Then there are complex numbers where z = a + bi, i imaginary. In advanced pure math, explicit numbers are no longer used, but rather words, letters, and concepts to form arguments just like in a philospphy class.
Having said all that, Caroline is a scam artist.

Good chance she will get immunity from criminal prosecution to testify her ex SBM. Prosecuted for what lol she lost money trading. And she wasn’t in charge of FTX she didn’t take any money. She just took the funds given to her and lost it all. That’s not necessarily illegal. Crypto is unregulated so not much regulation to hold her down with

@@trolltoll440 I’m not saying she’s not liable civilally. But criminally, with what we have, I don’t think there’s enough to charge her. Unless she knew funds are being siphoned from FTX but she can deny that. She can also claim she thought they were legit loans and that she made poor trades with them. Also insider trading stuff she can very well be charged for. I’d have to agree completely on that one. So I stand corrected. I hope she is charged but now that I think about it, it’s only a matter of time for the insider trading charges.

She literally said- Stop losses are not a very good risk management tool. And she was running a trading firm. Anyone would have expected this to happen if they came across this interview before.
With the kind of trading they were doing, stop losses are not necessarily feasible. Have you ever traded low liquidity shtcoins like they were? You can't even manually place stop losses without unreliable 3rd party tools most of the time, and the liquidity is so thin, its riskier to use them vs. just using your whole position size as your stop loss and manage your size accordingly, which is basically what she said
i support this comment. She explained what most quant traders do. Now, if you use EV properly you still evaluate your losses and evaluate risk properly. They did not
I think the real issue is that sbf was giving her money. Ppl trusts sbf, not her.
Stop losses on a larger scale (called "portfolio insurance") caused the crash of 1987.

I saw on linkedin a clip where I heard she saying stop loss is not a great risk management tool. Initially I felt the LinkedIn clip is edited one hence I was searching for original one and watched this video. LinkedIn clip was not edited.
I am not active investor however even I have read multiple times that stop loss is a important tool to preserve capital.

We literally never thought things would turn out this way. At the time they had a pretty good track record and her words seemed genuine and legit about her stance.

No special skills? It's unclear she is even financially literate, her parroting of various economic jargon notwithstanding.
It is evidence primarily against the competence of people who invested money in this scam. Scams are everywhere. But there are ways to avoid them. Stick to reputable, audited onshore companies that have government oversight.

También agregar lo del stop loss, como de engañoso puede ser centrarse en un % x.
