      Thanks for watching and commenting, it's good to get out there and enjoy the woods even if the deer aren't cooperating. In 2023, the combined deer harvest here in WV was 109,246, a decrease of 7.8 percent from 2022, which had experienced a 12.7 percent increase over 2021 and a 12.2 percent increase above the five-year average. The lower harvest was due to a number of factors, like an average hard mast that year and poor weather during the opening days of the season. This year the mast looks good, seems the white oak and red oak both hit. Appreciate you watching and commenting. Juddie

    Juddie, I'd a lot of work the way we deer hunt any more. I remember when I would get dressed and grab my gun
    on opening day was the only prep I did. No stands no feeders just find a tree to set by. Thank you for the
    trip too the woods.

      Appreciate you watching and commenting. That is the way it is with us come rifle season. On the mountain up at camp, it is a National Forest, and baiting is illegal on National Forest land. As for tree stands, we could use them, but I am not hiking a mile up that holler with a stand to where I hunt. All these years hunting up there, one year Jerod and I was scouting a flat just out from where we hunt and we found a ladder stand up there. We couldn't believe that someone carried a ladder stand up there and put it up. It was at least a 20 foot stand. Now here back home on the lease, we have ladder stands setup and have feeders. It is private land, and here we can take 4-wheelers or side-by-sides in to do maintenance to the feeders or haul in a ladder stand. Back in the 90's, I didn't even own a feeder, tree stand or a 4-wheeler, like you we just walked in found some oak trees and some trails and setup there to hunt. Again, thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie

    Great video! I love the way you document hunting and life-it feels unhurried, but that’s the real process.

      Thank you for watching and commenting, we try to show hunting how it really is. A lot of our youth are growing up watching the Outdoor Channel on TV that depicts hunting as being easy, and that trophy bucks are every where. The TV shows don't show the real world. That was the reason for the name of our channel "True Outdoor Adventures", to show the real world of true hunting, whether it is deer, squirrels, rabbits, turkeys, etc. Life is to short to hurry, when you hurry you seem to loose site of things. I hope it is enjoyable and informative. Again, thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie

      Thanks, Todd. It is beautiful over there on the lease, sure wish I owned that section of land that we hunt on, it is about 400 acres of the total 8,000 acres we have that we could hunt. Yes, sir, that feeder is ready. I should have checked it that night when we were filling it, just to make sure that when it dropped everything was fine. But it was getting late, it was dark and only had one flashlight. Todd, I have heard of people falling from their ladder stands because a weld broke in the ladder, so it is beneficial to always inspect them. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie

    Yes sir I voted before I left for camp👍👍 never used one of those. Good luck with it bud. I used all minerals this year. Thought I’d give it a try. I’m wat behind on videos I see you have a couple out i will be getting to them 👍

      Dan, got to get that vote in for sure!! For some reason or another the past several years we have fallen behind taking care of our sites like we used to. Seems like there is always something keeping us from getting out and getting those sites taken care of. We have since about 2011 been using that Lucky Buck mineral and have had success with it. We have tried other things as well, along with using the Lucky Buck. The Buck Bourbon 110, Acorn Rage, salt blocks, and the mineral rock are a lot of different minerals we have tried. Dan, don't worry, with work, hunting, videoing and family, we all get behind on watching other UA-camr's videos. We finally get around to watching and liking the videos that our friends post. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie

      Most of the time my feeders get stopped up from stuff in the corn. Even when I get the “ clean corn on the bag”😂

    • @JnJTrueOutdoorAdventures
      @JnJTrueOutdoorAdventures  14 днів тому +1

      @@bkbowhunter1 I have had that happen as well, Brian. That really sucks when that happens, because when it happens once, there is the chance there is still stuff in the bucket that hasn't worked down yet. Thanks for watching and commenting. Juddie
