Had the pleasure seeing this wonderful group on January 15, 2014. Their performance of this song had a greater rock feel to it. And Kimberly got down-right growly several times.
Now, whenever I hear the original song, I find myself expecting to hear the incredible harmonies Kimberly does. This is an incredible cover, gives me the chills everytime I hear it, congrats!
one of the Queen fan since 1980 when I was five, tells you that I haven't heard fat bottom girls so good as the original, obviously diferent but great, I think this interpretation is the number one afther the original, this is one of my favorits songs, great for you!
Who cares what it's like compared to the original? They're paying tribute to one of the greatest bands of all-time, and put their own spin on it. I like it.
This is a VERY interesting genre flip that seems to fit in some deliciously odd way. It takes balls to step into "those" shoes, but they did! What makes this a great cover is A:They were having fun B:They love the music and C:A love, respect and understanding of the source. Great job
Why do people have to hate on these covers? The Band Perry is a country band and the reason it is called a cover is because they are doing their own version of the song. If it sounded the same it would defeat the purpose of the cover. I think it was done very well, but there is no reason to compare it to Queen's version.
It's a very good cover. On top of that, I give them respect for covering it in the first place, since most people would have certain expectations of them from songs like If I Die Young. So, good for them for not letting themselves be labeled and put in a box.
Guys. There is no question that Queen's version is better, because, well, it's the original. but the band perry took their own style and applied to a song that, like it or not, got the entire crowd on their feet when i saw them live. so stop saying it sucks, because it doesn't. bad and different are two completely different concepts.
I think this is an excellent cover- also because the band adds something new (country feeling) to the well-known Queen version. All of you critics- please step out on the stage and play it yourself better, come on!;)
@Paul8820 I didn't complain because Freddie wasn't in it, becuase he kinda was towards the end, I complained because the phrasing was butchered, there were tonality issues, mostly with the guys, and overall the arrangement lacked too much for me to enjoy. I mean, even Pink doing Bohemian Rhapsody sounded 1,000 times better. And yes, I did go somewhere else. Within the first 20 seconds.
Honestly not a bad cover. Obviously the original was better and there have been some better covers, but this cover was pretty good. I enjoyed it to a degree and that's more than I can say for some covers.
I've seen that too.....Call me a purist, but there is a special punch and power that Freddie supplies while singing this song, that's what some people call singing through one's soul. That's one of the majoring factors that makes this song relevant and this cover irrelevant, it just lacks every bit of it. But then, it's still my personal opinion. :)
Not bad for an unplugged gig, but I really liked their performance at the 2012 CMA Festival better - bigger, louder, and generally more of a country-rock feel.
I don't think the job here was to compete with Queen, it was simply their take on the song. Why does everything have to be a competition with some people. Just enjoy the music for what it is.
My first instinct was to dislike this song. Fat Bottom Girls is one of my all time my favorite rock songs and it sounds a little odd at first as a country song. But it works somehow, and I don't know why. :)

They played this live at my towns festival. It was fantastic. Best Concert I've been to by far.
How can someone dislike this? This is pure country magic

Beautiful performance. Thanks for honoring Queen and Freddie.
This ain't a cover , just a good old tribute , and it's a real good one :)
Missed so much of TBP over the years. So I'm catching up with listening to them more.

HER VOICE IS SO FANTASTIC
Cette chanson me fou des frissons elle est juste magnifiquement interprété. J'adore !
Awesome version!!!
I love this. I like their sound.

I don't know how I missed this when I was trolling the covers on Billboard. Wonderful.
This is so much better than the original. The song sounds country to begin with and they just perfected it. Awesome performance
Totally love this! The Band Perry is amazing! -3
Saw this in concert. It was amazing.
GREAT JOB A NICE TWIST TO A CLASSIC
Saw you perform this LIVE opening for Brad Paisley in 2012. GREAT version!!! Hope to see TBP again soon!
great cover and great version of song😀

Spirited performance. Cool band.
Also check out same song on Letterman by Band Perry. Much more rock heavy.
I love how they did this song, I also like queen's version as well.
whenever they asked "wheres perry"
its cool, his been practicing with the band...
@smileforme15able the voice of an ANGEL!
They sang this at the concert with Brad Paisley and Scotty McCreery and I sang EVERY LYRIC xD It was amazing live
Of course it can never be better than the original. Queen's is the best. The Band Perry did an excellent job with it.
This is fckn brilliant. Awesome!!!! You got yourself a fan.....
Usually I HATE when people touch Queen, but I gotta say the country twist adds a new flavor to the song. I kinda like it :)
Love his voice :)
I like how they changed it up a little and put a "country" twist on it. Its hard to sing well and play an instrument, they're very talented.

awesome!
Lovely harmonies :)
I missed the "Get on your bikes and ride!" part. Other than that, I liked it.
I'd love to hear some of these negative posters sing or play anything other than UA-cam. (Nice job guys!)
the way they smile makes me smile too :)
Love it ...
Your right there Nicole, most critics could not pull the skin off custard yet the TBP can pull a crowd of thousands.
WHEN ARE Y'ALL COMING TO B'HAM ALABAMA GOTTA SEE

you ain't the only band in Greeneville jammin on this un! best wishes neighbors.
I'm not saying it's better than the original but DAYUM! This is some good stuff.
great!
i want this in instrumental!! your version :D love it
Faith in humanity restored - awesome.
I know everyone hates the comments that ask “who’s watching in 2019” but is anyone??
Excellent execution of an immortal hit of the QUEEN group!!! With admiration from Russia! 🇷🇺
my sister said the lead singer in Queen passed away May I all get RIP's in the replys please
R.I.P.
She makes it look so easy
YES.
This band is just AMAZING!!! Great cover...
Dinas song I LOVE IT 😊
this is sooooo much better than the original version!
Love Kimberly Perry! 🙂

BIG LIKE !! :3 ;) very nice cover :)
Прекрасно.
Zajebiscie, bardzo mi sie podoba ;) Pozdro from Poland dla Wykonawcow! ;p
See the band perry has their own sound. If you do that covers are doable.
I think they do a great cover of this song.
i LOVE Neil!!
Niicee!

Why cant people accept its a COVER not an ORIGINAL, so stop comparing them!!!
I think they did a good job, they made the song their own altho Queen's version unbeatable. I think it sounds good
if you do not like this version then watch and listen to this same group on the late show. You might like that version more than this one.

band perry > all
Nice..three cheers
Of course Queen is better, Queen is the best goddamn band I've ever heard, but this is pretty good too.
Lady Antebellum
Hilary Scott and Charles Kelly are lead vocals
Why couldn't Neil and Kim just be lead vocals in The Band Perry.
Love this! Just bugs me that it sounds like they are saying "Hare you going to take me home tonight." I keep hearing HARE instead of ARE.
Dumpster fire....................... I can see why people complain "what is the shit they call country these days"
@dooderek Wishful thinking?
This

Queen has always been uncoverable, it only ever highlights other singer's flaws because no one will ever approach Freddie's majesty.
It's mash up Mondays ppl. These are CONTRADICTORY things.
SO...these guys are all family... doesnt that mean they wouldve all shared the same nanny? naughty naughty perry siblings!
Fair.
@mmoleary2002 Wishful thinking?
Really? This sounds great.
My first instinct was to dislike this song. Fat Bottom Girls is one of my all time my favorite rock songs and it sounds a little odd at first as a country song. But it works somehow, and I don't know why. :)
another amazing cover, check out our interview with TBP on our channel and subscribe while your there if you like the interview
Mercury was better but of course no one can beat freddy, the band perry did a fine job and it was a valient effort
Nice mandolin
Freddie would be proud
Kimberly is so painfully pretty.
I dont think theyve listened to the original tune. They dont start playing until AFTER the intro of the song. Just an fyi.
It's a COVER, for a reason. They change it up to make it their own. It wouldn't even be worth listening to if it was exactly the same as the original.
Billy Butler normally id agree, but i didnt like the cover, so fuck consistancy.
Why does the bass player remind me of journeys lead?
super weird song for a sister and two brothers to play together haha!
nope. i am on youtube now.
You do know what it means to cover a song, right?
