It's normally with pork/chicken and dried mushroom and ginger since it's cheaper in guessing? They season it with oyster sauce also, and pour a sweet soy sauce mixture. The frog and eel ones are super good as well!
I love how every exotic dish Andy makes the locals always say he did it right! Andy is definitely studies his dishes and is very skilled in cooking. Glad his channel is getting the recognition he deserves.
@@jaynehenderson5240 if it’s breaking teeth, you’re cooking it wrong. It should be crispy not rock hard. Making clay pot rice is a skill, you don’t just put on the fire and cook. You have to maneuver the pot at diff angles and time to control the heat.
When I make a pork roast, I add rice at the end with a couple cups of water. All the juices and seasoning from the roast really creates somwthing special. The crispy bottom is sooo good.
Looks absolutely Delicious as always! I been thinking about buying one but wow I think my kitchen is getting smaller and smaller buying all these contraptions! :p
Cooking food is one of those things that never ceases to amaze/surprise me. Never thought of just steaming meat by putting it on top of rice. The rendered beef fat mixed with the shallots must make the rice even tastier.
Nice rift on the beloved Canto Chinese claypot rice. The finishing sauce is a must though. A malty sweet salty dark soy sauce... Thumbs up from this Canto Chinese gal.
Have NEVER heard of it but love it! The one pot/ crispy aspects, great - but also I can't be the only one who noticed how far this makes just a tiny bit of meat go!! Nice one Andy...
@@vhh1992 MSG is not always white you know. Soy sauce already provides that umami soy flavor, plus that beef tallow. Also if you don't know MSG is naturally occurring found in tomatoes, kelp and other food, again it's not white 😂
I'd have to omit the egg 😭 (allergy) but the rest looks doable for me to make for my family. I LOVE making something this AMAZING for them. Thank you, Chef! ❤
Andy, I think if you put a little bit of julienne-cut ginger into the rice will taste better since ginger and sesame oil work perfectly with each other in my opinion...
Hey, I would love for you to make Chole-Bhature. I'm new to your channel so idk if you've made it, but if you haven't you should definitely try. Also your cooking skills just amaze me
As HK people, I can tell you this clay pot rice is perfectly cooked. All the steps are authentic and it looks amazing!
It's a bit weird to not have ginger in the topping.
What’s HK? Curious

Yea, glad he deleted his paella recipe. It was egregious.
It's not right, but some people can't really tell the difference so doesn't really matter. Probably tastes good anyways.

Yes!!! The best part is the crispy rice in the bottom of the pot ❤
Crispy rice is inedible!! It could break your teeth. Why would you do that on purpose?

Beautiful dish you are cooking that in!!
Nice, although I’m my area , we use a different type of claypot and I’ve never seen anyone use beef before, only chicken and Chinese pork sausage
I love Chinese pork sausage. I probably eat it too often for how salty it is. Are you talking about the wax ones?
@@uhhok-vh1qo I don’t know if it’s wax, I’m talking about the pinkish ones that are a bit sweet
