Well done Nate. You start out just trying to knock the balls in the hole. You fill your head with a bunch of stuff, much of it needed. But when you play you have to just knock balls in a hole. The other stuff you learned will be there for you.
    You're the man!

Thank you my friend! It's taken a while for me to get there, and you've certainly helped me understand the importance of trusting the work you've put in and enjoying yourself at the table. Breath, swing, enjoy :)

You were playing great patterns man. Ego stops a lot of people. And playing against other people changes things, and other people can get you out of your flow. I currently have a hard time if my opponent plays very slow. I'm starting to put in headphones and listen to music when I play against very slow players. But I'm only used to wearing headphones when practicing alone. I guess I need to get used to playing against people wearing headphones when allowed.

Firstly, I don’t use an aiming system. I know several, and try not to use them unless I feel like I really need to. Mostly it’s all by feel. If I use them it all at once as sort of a double check system.
Secondly. You probably shouldn’t be shooting on an empty table while you’re in a match. It can be considered very rude. When it happens to me, I try not to make a comment about it- but generally, you shouldn’t be practicing when you SHOULD be in your chair sitting down. It’s part of the game. Embrace sitting down and feeling all the emotions that come with not being at the table, then overcome them.
Thirdly, this is a mental block you’re describing. When there’s no stakes (practicing), you play well cause there are no expectations or repercussions for missing. Then when you play a match, where every ball matters, you suddenly choke- not cause you can’t do it, but because you’ve made it a big deal and aren’t focusing on being truly present. Release your expectations and past performance and just focus on what you’re doing with no outcome in your mind. The act of striking the ball should be enough to engage your mind and body. Let go of the rest. Even if you lose at that point, you’ve still spent your time wisely and will learn much more from it.

It's a mid 80's Tim Scruggs with a hsunami 1.0 shaft, 12.4mm tip. Caiden fighter medium tip, nickel radius.

I feel like a pre shot routine isn't always needed tbh. Yes Fedor always does it and he's great he's one of the best obviously. But I see others doing great without a pre shot routine
