I live in Snowdonia which is a mountainous national park in North Wales, my dad had a cardiac arrest so I called 999, the operator talked me through giving him cpr on the phone while the ambulance made it's way asap, they said cardiac arrest was in the top tier for for fast responses and they weren't wrong, from the second I called to the ambulance arriving was 4 minutes, when we got to the hospital and got my dad all booked in etc. I was chatting to the ambulance crew and they said because they're a rural ambulance depot they don't all hang out at the main base waiting for calls, they all drive around stopping at various car parks all spread out across the national park, so I was just very lucky this one crew was just around the corner when I called, amazing that this service is also free, well... I know I know we pay though national insurance, but still, when you feel the benefit of the service you're so freaking grateful, I had a family bbq last summer and invited the ambulance crew who saved my dad and they both came, we had a great night, and it turned out one of them was from the same village where my dad was born.

    Blue and yellow = police
    Green and yellow = medical
    Red and yellow = fire

And flashing blue lights only, since red can be confused with stop lights or brake lights on buses, trucks etc.

The object of an emergency response is to arrive at the scene safely to enable them to help the people involved in an accident
In the UK fast response drivers are trained to drive fast but safely so they are not involved in an accident themselves which would slow the response time.

It may seem like they just go through red traffic lights, but they only do so with caution. Drivers could be prosecuted if involved in an accident. No use to anyone if they have accident.

If you want to see UK... Fire Engines... Ambulances... Police Vehicles... EMS Paramedic Vehicles... Blood Bikes... etc... Search for... Blue Light Runs UK... You'll then see it from the driver or riders point of view... This is Chris Martin... He's an EMS Paramedic that uploads his own Blue Light Runs to UA-cam as seen here... But i can't upload the links... So search for the exact video titles here after both arrows... Enjoy. ----------> 999 response - Observer POVpt1 ----------> Observer POV pt 2 - 999 response

On a clear road, emergency vehicles accelerate and fly by. On roads that are congested and built up, for safety reasons, they MUST slow down. I'm sure the drivers of these vehicles would love to speed up.
In the USA you have the paramedics on a fire fighting vehicle, whereas in the UK we have separated them. Meaning , they have their own distinctive vehicles/ lights. This keeps each service free, ie : If the situation plays requires a paramedic, only a paramedic attends the scene - keeping the fire engine free to attend fires. We even have paramedics on motorbikes!

Our emergency response drivers have to complete an advanced driving course. There are also Coast guards (civilians not militarised like the US), Mountain / River search and rescue, teams, RNLI, mine and cave rescue Military (Army, Navy and Airforce Police and Bomb/ Mine disposal,

There are no jay-waking laws here so people cross where they want. Also our roads are much smaller. No emergency they must drive within law as public do in UK.

I used to watch Cops on Sky TV over here in England when I used to have it, I'm not sure if it's still on but it was a brilliant programme. I do have myself subbed to ABC7 because they have chases, last nights one with the hospital bus was weird that ended in Home Depot.

You keep on about going fast and you also keep saying about your Police cars going fast like I would say stupidity idiotic and dumb Police drivers in the United States. The UK and Europe has laws that all Emergency vehicle drivers must abide by. Here in the UK Police officers who drive their Police vehicles in a pursuit must abide by 97 health and safety British government codes in a pursuit of another vehicle either stolen or by other means. The main one is to ensure the safety of the General public and also in a built up area. The UK and the rest of the world is not the United States and that we have laws that all Emergency services vehicle drivers must abide by including safety, speed, and awareness of surroundings. Just because American Police officers drive like lunatics it doesn't mean that the rest of the world does the same. 💂‍♂️💂‍♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇮🇪🇮🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
