As long as Sinner and Alcaraz are injured, anyone can win. Djokovic will remain a large favourite in any tournament he enters, but he recently got 2-0ed by Tabilo

Credit to Muller...guy's a beast...matched and exceeded Rublev's pace and accuracy...gave Rublev no room to breathe. Almost a Sinner-like level of play here...let's hope he can keep it up.

Wadzefok. Mind blowing. There are very few players able to hold a boom boom war with Rublev especially lately with the confidence he's been capitalizing. First set, I was thinking this will finish early seeing the pace of Rublev getting installed but the consistency of Muller was out of this world. Kudos to him, he's been doing good in the last years, not easy for someone alternating between Challenger and ATP circuits.

Rublev has to rest up. His level this tournament spoke volumes. 36 unforced errors, 58% first serve in (53% first match), and 4 double faults (7 first match) are far from what we’ve seen in Madrid and how Andrey is capable of playing. He has to take some time off to recover and regroup before the French open.

    • @Dior4m

before that he was on how many match losing streak? Madrid was his fluke tournament of the year. That form is not coming back, sorry. Especially if you are as braindead as rublev. Temperamental child.

@@iansmirna5183 Alcaraz, Fritz, or any other player Andrei faced in Madrid didn’t play much worse than Muller or were even better. It didn’t bother Andrei to serve 75% and above first serve in, whereas this tournament he’s making a lot of errors in this department. Also, unforced errors are called unforced for a reason.

I'm curious about the official rules for the situation at 1:36. Muller hits a volley, it lands on the ground on Rublev's side, good, then spins backwards and hits the net on Rublev's side. Let's say that Rublev was right there at the net. Could he hit the ball after it touched the net? Or is the point over as soon as the ball touches the net, before it touches the ground a second time? Replies please ONLY from people who are sure of the answer and can cite a rule. I've played tournaments for 40 years and don't know the answer.

Who does Rublev always shout at when he makes a long ball? It's not their fault - or maybe indirectly his coach? And to everyone saying he should find a therapist; believe me, he's already done that - just hope he continues to stay on the ball with him. I like Rublev, he's a cool guy & capable of it - we've seen it recently. Now I hope, and wouldn't begrudge him, if at least his compatriot (they didn't contribute anything to the war, so for the sad, macabre war, this is Putin's war) Medvedev wins the title here.

Why did he cry to his team after every lost point? like a child blaming their father for putting him there. Can someone explain why so much complaining?

Rublev Looked Dead Tired after the First Set. No Force in his Shot, He is standing Close to the Net Still he is hitting straight in the Hands instead of Sending it above his head for an easy point. He should take a break and relax a bit.

It's absolutely fascinating to notice how the best tennis players always perform bad right after a big win. I get it, he's tired but still...

Tired and one needs more time to recover from a very bad illness. The body can only take so much.

Rublev must have been tired after all his wins lately, but credit to Muller who played very well!

He played 6 straight matches in 3 months. Don't know why he should be tired, when players like Sinner, Daniil, and Carlos went deep into multiple Masters and were playing with injuries. He is 26 ffs... not 37 like Novak/Rafa.
