Something I noticed on day two were playing is the lack of SBMM means there’s a lot greater variety of skill expression. We lost one match by .4% because the worst prefomring player on the opposing team kept fire suicide bombing the escort to the point where he terrified literally everybody away from trying to complete the escort. Just can’t get that to happen with the current era of matchmaking algorithms.
Is there just normal casual matchmaking?

I know people with disabilities and older people who appreciate sbmm because it makes the game fair and a lot more enjoyable but the majority of people hate it because they just want to play against people of any skill level like how cod used to be.
@@Junebug879 I can guarantee you if they tried any pre SBMM cod they would have more fun. SBMM doesn’t work how they advertised. If it makes the game fair how come I’m 1.5kd but play against 3kd+ religiously. It’s broken. If it worked how they planned it too I could see where your coming from but after you hit level 55 all bets are off. I had fun the first 3 days of MW3 and then I had to sweat my ass off to get anywhere. It’s not fun

Random matchmaking is the biggest reason old cods are goated. There's obviously more to it than just that, but it was actually fun and relaxing to play. The new cods are a fight for your life if you're a decent player, and just not fun.
those golden old days ... sometimes you feel like king sometimes like chit , you play for hours without even noticing...
with SBMM you always chit (or sweaty chit) no mater what you do + get tired in just couple rounds.

The amount of times I shoot someone across the map and get a hit marker with my tac-50 but that same person using the m44 one shots me is insane and genuinely pissing me off a ton. Then also getting shot around corners full 10+ seconds after I turn it. Other than those two issues I love this game.

Not to be that guy, but they obviously were a better sniper then. You have to hit headshots with the M44 from range, otherwise it’s a hitmarker machine. The Tac-50 is one shot one kill, torso up, to a certain distance. It does have a damage falloff. If you got outplayed by the M44 at range, then just give the guy his credit and don’t try to just blame the game.

@@djodyssey99 I spec my tak-50 for range and I neck shotted him. Not to mention I hit markered him and he had 60% health
@@leftoverpizzza3337 Did y’all shoot each other at the same time by any chance? Cuz I will say, I don’t think I’ve even had any “trades” in this game. It almost seems as that if you’re the first one to die, then your bullet literally just no longer does damage. I’ve had that happen quite a few times. Me and a guy will shoot basically at the same time, I get dropped and my shot only lands a hitmarker which seems to have done no damage when looking at their health. That does definitely need to get fixed, or changed if it’s intentional. (Basically what happened to Jev in the first 10 seconds of the video.)
They definitely have server connection issues, because I get killed when I’m sliding behind a wall/corner too.

Genichiro has like 7 startups total, and a weird lightning gimmick that gives him two more moves. But you never actually see any of it because you either die in two hits or block it all.

Yeah I miss that from older cods. Playing random sweats every game is annoying but when you organically run into them every once in a while, it's fun

@@M53614nah Fr there may be no SBMM but I swear it felt like the game just hated me for my first 8 games, every game I was top 3 or higher on my team, at level 1/6 my highest teammate was level 8, everyone else was mostly level 1’s and 5/6 of the 8 games I had a teammate leave at the start of the match. Meanwhile the enemy team is all level 8 and ABOVE, it was so stupid

I definitely agree with the SBMM. This feels like old school COD. Just chillin out not having to sweat every single game or knowing I'm going to get into the next game and either get swamped or destroy the enemy team.
Me personally will be playing XDefiant over COD strictly for the no SBMM alone...and my sanity 😂
So you're happy that you have no control over the outcome of the match? Atleast with sbmm, you are assured that your teamates are atleast within the same vacinity of skill as your opponents.

@@Devil-ev3zm SBMM only benefits complete bots that would constantly be bottom of the leaderboard every single game they played, eventually quit playing the game. Bo4 was the last cod without overkill SBMM. I was better than the average pool of players so I got rewarded from this by dominating in 90% of my matches. That’s what I get for putting in time and getting better at the game. Now if you do good you get punished. Lobbies should be random. If you’re trash at the game that’s a skill issue and maybe the game isn’t for you
@@Devil-ev3zm yup and not really. The amount of times I’d go like 40-15 (When I’m supposed to do good bc of SBMM) and the second closest on my team is 8-20. Imo they were never near my skill. I like having a different range of players on both my team and the enemy team and not knowing if I’ll win or lose the game

@@julsss4728 Nah I just want variety in the teams. The current sbmm in cod literally puts me with all lower skilled players on my team against all similar higher skilled players on the other team almost forcing me to lose the game. In xDefiant its a mixed bag so you get games like the one Jev got in this video where two people carried both teams. A mix of skill is what we want, not to just pub stomp noobs.

Why doesn’t Call of Duty just make a matchmaking option where you can choose to play with SBMM on or off?
Plain and simple, because if they choose "NO SBMM" they will get put in most likely kid lobbies, and drop like a 200 bomb, then everyone will start turning NO SBMM on, then all the kids will be "like wtf why am I dying so fast by this fast crazy sliding guy" and thats why 😂
Because that would be COD admitting the manupalitive coding and algorithms implemented in the game that they have spent so much $ on. Bottom outliers do not benefit their profits so they set it up using patterns heavily studied in psychology to stimulate our brains in a way to keep you engaged

Hell it wasn’t even like this in old cod (even in this game) as there was actually a skill expression that made games feel unique instead of seeing the same ppl and the same guns
And by your logic, the no sbmm will also have sweats competing against each other, however unlike being constantly paired with sweats on the enemy team they are gonna get matches where ppl dont play sweaty or use meta guns
there shouldnt be that option, it should just be ranked and non ranked
@@hbshadow8981 your right and also wrong at the same, their would be sweats vs other sweats but more than like the remainder of the team would be the regular kids, and also the other side might have 2 or 3 sweats and remainder kids, or it might be 5 sweats 1 regular vs nothing but regulars, but at the end of the day if months go by like that it will just get back to sweats vs sweats again because all the kids left to play something else 🤔

MWIII is always the same for me, first game is always hard, usually thrown into a match in progress where my team is getting stomped, I do bad on purpose, get an easier lobby and do good, then get a crazy hard lobby that stays together for a few matches. It’s so annoying!!! Feels like a job and I definitely spend more time at the menu than in game just contemplating playing or not and even though im on Bnet, steam counts menu/lobby time as well.

Infinity Ward do not deserve to make their own COD games at this point. There needs to be more competition in this genre like XDefiant.
But even with Treyarch & SHG being the better studios, EOMM makes COD unplayable nowadays in terms of playing it for fun factor.

Movement feels great. The wind play test movement felt off. But it feels very snappy and dialed in. I'm having the same thing we're I die after I round the corner like in cod 😂. But I never feel lag when shooting someone like I don't know what it is but it always happens when rounding a corner.

I play basically 5 - 4 linear (ALC are a little different) on Apex but I do not like linear in this game for some reason. So I’m trying to figure out what I like. Max aim assist feels awful. No aim assist feels better than full but I’d rather be on MnK then. Can’t really find what I like yet.
Rubberbanding is pretty big in this beta, another thing I noticed was damage registration was off as well sometimes guns wouldn't even shoot at all such as snipers. Otherwise super fun.
You so concisely explain why I despise skill-based matchmaking. I feel like most people don't really know how it works. Every time I talk to someone about it they seem to think it just balances the games. In concept that makes perfect sense. But, like you said, not knowing what will happen in the next game is so much more fun than knowing you're going up against fucking CDL level gameplay. I don't want to play against people on my level. I just want to play the damn game and have fun. And, inevitably, once I get into my groove I start caring about my stats. The simplicity of just matching you with people who are playing the same gamemode is so much better than a large system that, again, like you said, makes you feel like a lab rat.
Having no skill based matchmaking is so nice the random skill disparity it quite chaotic

I’ve been loving the game play, flow, and pace. Maps look great, but my hit reg and the netcode have been brutal. Sometimes hitting 4-5 ACR shots and doing only half damage like the hit markers aren’t actually hitting the target. Otherwise I like it a lot
The movement even looks smoother than the older video. Just watching the jump to slide or bunny hops it's alot more responsive with the next movement. I really can't wait for this game to drop
my only real issue with the game (and it could be settings) but it feels like when i scope in with a sniper, my look movement is even faster than just running around. and even when using the rate of fire attachment, theres quite a delay between scoping in and shooting

Playing cod being exhausting is exactly how I feel every time I try to queue. Hit the nail on the head.
ACR's TTK is slightly faster but is harder to use. AK is funnily the lowest recoil AR in the game which is why it feels nice to use

It’s not Sbmm it’s oemm or eomm ( engagement optimised match making). Basically to keep you on as long as possible. Making it harder to complete battle pass etc
3:25 i was gonna say jason always says that mw3 '23 is the best cod since this new era but i thought cold war was kinda decent. like if mw3 is over cw, alright, but i don't think it's by a landslide. glad to see jason feels that way and finally stated that.
MW3 had a bug where an option could be toggled to stay with the same lobby. This could be a feature later down the road or in the upcoming COD.

ive only been playing the finals and coming from that yes movement feels AWFUL in this game, i dont think ill ever get to play the two games at the same time its one or the other it takes to long to adjust

I’ve noticed the red dot sight is broken on most weapons. With the reticle snapping back after recoil, other than that i love this game
My biggest problem as someone who doesnt enjoy playing cod and enjoy really on R6 I was playing today, while I will say it is releases day but it just feels overly sweaty without it the amount of fights i have gotten in where all they do is jump, slide, jump, 360, jump, jump makes it miserable to play and i usually play comp but if you dont wanna play competitive you cant compete with these players normally
