- An off the cuff video of me making a contact via the ISS FM repeater using the most basic equipment.
shot and edited on a Samsung s10e Phone
TX/RX (handheld)
Anytone 868 DMR 2m/70cm
Nagoya NA 771 (fake)
RX (in the car)
Leixen VV-898 mobile radio
homebrew 1/4 wave whip cut for 145mhz
Thanks for watching
Take care 🙂
Ben, you sounded quite stoked after our QSO. Very well done on getting in with that antenna. Philippe (EA4NF) has had great success using a Diamond RH770 telescopic whip on a handheld. I'm seriously considering getting one. Not too expensive either.
I was truly surprised when you came back to my call.
I was 50/50 if I was going to hear the Iss let alone make a contact.. Thanks for the audio clip .
I have a RH770 (fake ) and it works well and I would of used it but didn't have it with me .
Many thanks John 😊
Fantastic video Ben nice going. I'll keep on trying lol. Best 73s

it's around 5 watts if memory serves..👍🏻
@@benm1mlm846 Damn bro, 5 watts with fake Nagoya? I'm gonna try it tomorrow. Thanks for inspiration!
Excellent @@peterstefanik713 you never know unless you give it a go, I definitely wouldn't of thought I'd make the contact...
