  • An off the cuff video of me making a contact via the ISS FM repeater using the most basic equipment.
    shot and edited on a Samsung s10e Phone
    TX/RX (handheld)
    Anytone 868 DMR 2m/70cm
    Nagoya NA 771 (fake)
    RX (in the car)
    Leixen VV-898 mobile radio
    homebrew 1/4 wave whip cut for 145mhz

    Ben, you sounded quite stoked after our QSO. Very well done on getting in with that antenna. Philippe (EA4NF) has had great success using a Diamond RH770 telescopic whip on a handheld. I'm seriously considering getting one. Not too expensive either.

      I was truly surprised when you came back to my call.
      I was 50/50 if I was going to hear the Iss let alone make a contact.. Thanks for the audio clip .
      I have a RH770 (fake ) and it works well and I would of used it but didn't have it with me .
