Some thank-yous, explanations, and exciting news about some upcoming "original recipe" HTRWW videos. CyclingTips youtube: / @velovelovelotv buy me a coffee: ko-fi.com/cosm...
Honestly Cosmo, you can do whatever you like and if anyone throws shade your way, f' them. You spend a decade making interesting, funny, analytical, high-quality and not to mention FREE cycling-content for the masses, that I’m sure turned thousands upon thousands of cycling-watchers into cycling-fans - myself included. Your combination of comedic timing, profound tactical knowledge, attention to detail and general communication skills are un-matched in the YT-cycling-niche and I am grateful that you have and seemingly will continue to share that with us. I'll watch whatever you make, where-ever and whenever it's put out. So yeah... That was a bit longer than expected... But, ehh, keep up the good work, I’m looking forward to the next one.
Came to say something with identical meaning, and you said it way better than I could. Spot on, full endorsement from this humble fool. Keep on keeping on Cosmo.
This was a really helpful video to watch - thank you. There is a lot more content out there these days as you say, but you are kinda the OG around here so you get dibs every time you post. Hey GCN - I’d watch more of your stuff if you were paying Cosmo to do his thing. Cheers x
He remember him talking some time ago how the "how to watch a bike race" and "why the break was made" were made for an intended collaboration with GCN that never materialised.
Yep, I just subscribed to them off the back of catching-up with his Bini Girmay vid and someone in the comments mentioning he's been on CT. Now I have all his stuff for them (that I'd previously missed) is showing up in my suggested vids on the right of the screen. I'm not interested in anything else on their channel though.
As with many of the comments below: nothing ever came close, then or now, to HTRRW. It was always astonishing to me that you were able to do it, at that volume, and that level of quality for as long as you did. Similarly incomprehensible to me was the unwillingness of traditional broadcasters to hire you and pay you commensurate with your value. Jesus, like what did NBC give Bob Roll all those years FFS? I mean, I got nothing against Bobke, but really.... is he pulling in new viewers to pro cycling? Anyway, whatever you can manage, HTRWW-wise, and not kill yourself doing it and keep a roof over your head will be welcomed gratefully by the legions of us who have appreciated your work from day one. Hopefully the good folks at CyclingTips will help make that happen. (And yeah, CGN: we're looking at you.) GO COSMO. Meanwhile, Ima go re-watch HTRWW Omloop Het Nieuwsblad 2015. A classic.
Came here to say all the things the others have said before me, so read their comments instead. Will gladly follow you on CyclingTips, you do whatever suits you. You are still the originator and daddy of youtube cycling videos so big up for that.
I'm really happy with basically any content you have put out over the last years - loved the last video on Bini winning GWG, but I'll take any bike-related content by you. HTRWW was amongst the stuff that got me interested into cycling and I'm grateful for every possible new episode. Take care!
In the spirit of 100-1 or is it 10,000-1 folks who love your stuff versus haters - much less those who never comment…just keep doing what you do, whenever you can. I still think fondly of the bottle/bidon through the window that you caught oh so many years ago. Really wish there was a way for this to make financial sense. Unfortunately bike racing isn’t sports gambling/fantasy - and it’s a shame too because cycling is just so much more beautiful than even soccer (the beautiful game - but always the same views and no mountain top finishes or sunflowers)
It's frustrating that it's difficult for such a superb talent to find a viable outlet for his ability, and yet viewers find ourselves awash in mediocre analysis, commentary and presenting, run by even worse executives (who usually seem to not understand or care about where the appeal of sport truly lies).
Glad that thing Velonews once tried to approximate poorly rather than pay Cosmo to do himself is somewhat back. Your breakdowns of races and particularly explanations of tactics are really what got me into that aspect of cycling altogether - I would never be annoyed if I read a spoiler of who won a race because HTRWW would tell me the more interesting 'how it happened' and that has so much more value. Btw, how did you manage a youtube algorithmic breakdown without referencing TWIB's 'Top 5' ep?!
Cosmo, you should reconsider your position on UA-cam and patreon etc. There are a ton of experts in their respective fields sharing amazing content and monitizing it in a non slimy way. Your videos were amazing. I actually thought you stopped producing content but glad to see some new content. For the record I don't produce content nor do I make any money from it nor am I affiliated with any of these services...
it’s getting the rights to use the footage that’s tricky. That’s why it’s so awesome to work with a partner like CyclingTips, as I’m doing for this years Tour: ua-cam.com/video/fqKdcPAvR90/v-deo.html
Loved your old content. Love your new content. Fully understand why you can't (and shouldn't) go back to the old content. You are basically the only person now I follow on twitter...though with the way social media works I may get snared into more people eventually. Good luck and I look forward to whatever content you deign to provide us. Go well, Cosmo!
Yes there are other recap style video formats out there BUT none are as good as yours. So pleeease keep it up. I don’t know how involved Cycling Tips wants to be but maybe you should consider partnering up with GCN. Having said that, they might not want to publish race footage related content on youtube for free access… But on the other hand they do offer highlights videos of their own making and you did produce a few HTRWW‘s for Eurosport a few years back. However I‘d expect GCN to have some money to throw your way.
I remember your first few videos, they were so fast paced we had to watch them multiple times to try and understand them but it was clear that analytics of racing was 100% missing from cycling media. It’s a damn shame cycling is so stuck in the past, and cycling never took you up. Cycling media is improving but it’s still pretty bad.
Already a cyclingtips account and I’ll keep it you’re heading over there. Can’t believe how far cycling coverage has come since you started when it was total shit
Can't expressed how stoked I am to get ANY HTRWW content. And idc if it comes the day after or the year after, watching HTRWW is always a pleasure, most of them get better with more repeats! Thanks Cosmo, you're a legend!
We couldn’t have had Lanterne Rouge without HTRWW, you single handedly paved the way for a lot of people to get into pro cycling.
LR is ok but Cosmo is way better. He's the Velvet Underground of cycling commentary.
LR is for boys, HTRWW is for men
Carried the field like prime Tony Martin

Cosmo you are the GOAT of Cycling Analysis :D

Heck, I might even watch SOME of their stuff :P
He remember him talking some time ago how the "how to watch a bike race" and "why the break was made" were made for an intended collaboration with GCN that never materialised.
The boys at thecyclingdane always mention you Cosmo as the best cycling youtuber
It is true that there is a lot of other cycling content these days, but you're videos are still unmatched. Let's hope for some funding
I was on the fence subscribing to cycling tips, but just because of Cosmo awesome decade of amazing content I am going to subscribe today.

The GOAT of cycling analysis videos 👍
I watched so many of those 2014 videos I went out and bought that same Icebreaker hoodie. I guess I have to switch to Patagonia now?

Ha, ha, ha! Brilliant. Super refreshing perspective. Especially the ending. Will dig into your recommendations for support!

Your videos are still the best

Favourite youtuber full stop. Wish you could do more! Kinda like how CyclingTips pays you cos they kinda target those in the know...

I didn't really watch How the Race was won to find out how it was won, but rather because it was great fun to watch
Can confirm I've now recommended you to ALL of my weird cycling friends as requested.

I'm still waiting for the drunk history style presentation on the history of tire size naming conventions.
Dumpling nightlight for the win!
That sound...uhhh...quality, tho.

How the Race Was Won was hands down the best... most pale in comparison.

No. There is no recap that I have seen that provides the insights you do.
* cough * _Lanterne Rouge_ * cough *👀
@@ManWalksDogs Mmm. Nope. Will stand by comment for now. Similar perhaps but not quite.
Cosmo was too good for the cycling community. We don't deserve the quality of the content anyway. Perhaps in some other timeline.
Can't expressed how stoked I am to get ANY HTRWW content. And idc if it comes the day after or the year after, watching HTRWW is always a pleasure, most of them get better with more repeats!
Thanks Cosmo, you're a legend!
