- 1996 VQ30DE (with DE-K lower/upper intake, throttle body and injectors). The injectors are 290cc vs. 260cc stock. The car is still untuned on the factory ECU. I have experimented with blending the ethanol content to lean out the AFRs. So far, E40 seems to be a good, safe amount of ethanol and brings the octane closer to the 97 mark.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND RUNNING E85 OR EXTENDED USE OF ANY OF THE BLEND BEYOND THE 10-15% YOU CAN FIND AT THE PUMPS. Especially an older car like this, absolutely NOTHING in the fuel system is set up for ethanol and the corrosive nature of extended use. I only experiment at the end of a tank with a fuel gallons at a time when I know I will use it right up.
