"I don't feel properly dressed without a couple of cans of nitro." Ace is my kind of girl.
Sylvester McCoy is my kinda girl. The first ever person I searched up on insta was Sylvester McCoy. Because of that picture of him in the doctor who magazine that's still his insta pfp where he has the words 'this is the real McCoy' on his shoulder. But mostly because he's 5'6" of absolutely beautiful/brilliant/insane.
Have you read Sophie Aldred's novel At Childhood's End? It's somewhat of a prequel to parts of Power of the Doctor.
Watch Sylvester's face after Glitz says that the map is the "... real McCoy..." 🙂
I noticed that too 😂
Love the randomness of this... Dragonfire is fun and 7, Glitz, Mel and Ace are great.
Sophie is so pretty! I love the relationship between Ace and The Doctor, how she calls him "professor" all the time.
7:17 The greatest cliffhanger in all of Dr Who. :P
A classic gag!!! 😂😂😂
and a secrest cameo of clara
It fits sylvesters idea of dark comedy so well 😄
aww, a lovely festive upload, thanks @Doctor Who 💙
That guard was brilliant, nice to make the faceless baddies have a face sometimes
Very underrated scene, and McCoy does a LOT of emotive acting - facial expressions, mannerisms, reactions, quietly bouncing off other people without saying a word - flitting from concern, to joy, to horror when the conversation won't end.
What a great actor such humour ❤😂
Ha, I just noticed. Right after the "Loch... OCH..." moment, you can briefly see/hear McCoy breathing at Mel like a Dragon (0:54).
And I thought that as a Scotsman, McCoy wanted to correct Mel on how to say Loch
@@michaelacioffi1291It's entirely possible, but I got the feeling that the words were scripted, but the brief flame-breathing on the side was just McCoy being McCoy.
This is one of my favoritt episodes of Doctor Who..
I am also a huge fan of Sophie Aldred from Norway..
I love Ace..❤️
The "and before I go" part reminds me a lot of the 9th Doctor talking to Rose before he regenerates.
Or Columbo.
No. Crap New Who is nothing like Classic Who.
Love dragonfire one of my favourite classic doctor who episode loved ace's return in power of the doctor
The real McCoy! 😅
Love this Doctor & Ace!
Classic doctor who. 😊love ace she is cool.
Claire Oswald: Doctor!!
7th doctor hanging by umbrella
His little rear end is insane.
@@Saul_Ferguson you said what
*7th
Mr. Robson from Grange Hill as Bazin in this story - that's always one of the unique things about it. Also - great to Glitz back and the introduction of Ace.
The Doctor gets all the best companions. Ace and Sarah Jane, the lucky sod.
You forgot, Jamie. :P
Loved Ace's Red Tights What A Great 80s
Look with the jacket 🧭
And, Clara ❤
“ You will do as you're told. Less of your lip or you'll be out on your ear. Hope the dragon gets you in the night. “
“ Like the Lock Ness monster. Loch. “
“ Oh, go on, Professor, let me come too. Well, I don't see why not. Ace! “
“ Fascinating. Absolutely fascinating. “
“ Do you mind? This is the real McCoy, this is. It comes from an unimpeachable source. “
“ What's your name, incidentally? Everyone calls me Ace. Oh, how do you do. I'm the Doctor and this is my friend Mel. “
“ Nonsense, Glitz. Time for a quick adventure then back for tea. Ace! “
“ Glitz? Glitz? Glitz? “
“ Wicked. “
“ Professor! Bilge bag. What’s that? Now, now, stop this squabbling. There’s no place for animosity on a serious scientific undertaking. “
“ Oh, come on, old son. A joke’s a joke. It’s me, Sabalom Glitz. “
“ Who are you? Just a traveller. “
“ This is a spacecraft. The whole colony’s a spacecraft! “
“ What’s he doing? It’s scorching. “
“ Mel can keep you out of trouble, Glitz. And that means no more dodgy deals. Thanks a billion, Doctor. Glitz. “
“ I’ll send you a postcard. But I don’t have an address. Oh, I’ll put it in a bottle and throw it into space. It’ll reach you, in time. “
“ Ace, where do you think you're going? Perivale. Ah yes, but by which route? The direct route with Glitz, or the scenic route? Well? Do you fancy a quick trip round the twelve galaxies and then back to Perivale in time for tea? Ace! But there are three rules. One, I'm in charge. Whatever you say, Professor. Two, I'm not the Professor, I'm the Doctor. Whatever you want. And the third. Well, I'll think up the third by the time we get back to Perivale. “
The Doctor and the ice cliff... He wanted a closer look at something. That is why he ended up almost at the end of his rope... Er , umbrella.
Another Clara moment! I really need to watch the originals
Intro of my favorite character
Love this era of Doctor Who👍👍🪂🕵️☔📼📼📼📼
Clara was there
I wonder if that melting man was Steven Spielberg's inspiration for the melting nazi in the first Indiana Jones movie.
Considering Raiders of the Lost Ark came out in 1981 and this came out in 1987 I think we can all draw our own conclusions.
@@shaneedwardlee thank you for the information. I didn't look up the time line.
It was, and the "Dragon" + the scenes of it being hunted down with scanners was inspired by Alien(s).
Doctor who missed a trick and never followed up with a story about the people of Pro-Amon beyond what we learn about them from Kane in this story. They have never returned in neither the modern series or Big Finish.
The dragonfires' shape is..... interesting to say the least
Dang that death was violent even by modern Who standards
Ace was Hot 🔥
Not perfect, but very underrated
Poor Doctor left hanging- Truly a High-Light (I can't wait to look back on this in a year and cringe)
It's been a year. How do you feel?
Hey BBC, release 'Torchwood: Absent Friends'
need more Ice Zombies in Doctor Who!
Mel AND Ace?
You didn’t know?
This was a transition episode where it's Mel's last episode and Ace's first.
@@wstine7935 years later she works for Unit.
Yes what a couple
Funny thing Time
woah
Glad to see women are as good at acting in the 80s
Classics story
I like Dragonfire
💙💙💙
When is the movie coming
What movie?
Doctor who season I meant sorry
Are you referring to the latest season with David Tennant?
@Zaky Shafie 3 specials releasing in 2023 in November for the 60th, a Christmas special in December 2023 and then series 14 releases in 2024
@@Mugiwarbuoshouo in 2023 there's:
1) the 13 part prequel (in the same vein as a minisode like Born Again) as part of DWM comic (on P2 atm, P3 due January 10th),
2)the 3 specials with TennantC (60th anniversary) doctor all in November
3)then Gatwa doctor debuting in a Christmas special
Then in 2024 S14 will start (start proper if we count the 2023 stuff as part of S14 in a 'starter' to the 8 episodes in 2024s 'main course' S14).
yes im the 15th comment and btw doctor who is the best
this ended dr.who for me
First
No, seventh
@@johnsmodularjams2123 I was but you replying has moved me up because my comment is more relevant now 😡
Nah William Hartnell was first. Sylvester McCoy was seventh
This is not poggers
I'm going to try that on women. #canthurt
And people say classic who was the best. The acting is sub-par at the least 😂
And people say the acting is sub-par at least. Classic Who is obviously the best!
(This is the problem when people rely on subjective comments).
The Acting was very good
