This is true of all BMW’s and shouldn’t be a surprise if you’ve done even cursory trsearch. If you are a value buyer, you shouldn’t be buying the brand in the first place.
You need to test drive a 2022 rs3 if you want a good experience arch.. why?.. because that's an actual enthusiast car not a slow appliance like an i4 is.

Sorry Archie , I understand how you feel how you got fu*ked with the residual value of your 3 series. Unfortunately, most BMW's are horrible at keeping residual value given their cost of maintenance/long term repairs. The only BMW's worth buying (not leasing) are enthusiast limited models. I am fortunate my M2 CS MT has kept it's value given its limited production and driver driven focus. The only BMW's worth buying are driver focused enthusiast cars. Otherwise you will be butt fu*ked on resale.
Get rid of the beema Arch. Maybe invest in one of those fold up escooters.
