I drove over to John Hughes Used Cars - Victoria Park, Perth WA. I had parked my very old Honda Accord in the visitor's car bay.
First thing the sales guy said to me 'Is that your car, I give you 50 bucks for it?' And he was being dead serious. It set the tone immediately.
Later in the talks about the optional extended warranty which cost a fortune, he exclaimed 'Do you know Asian people??' 'me: Yea sure.."
Him: "Well, uh, Asian people always go for the extended warranty because they're really smart!"

I thought everyone knew buying a new car is bad bad economy. It’s only good (or not terrible) if you keep that car for a long long time. I bought a (new) 2019 BMW 430i in the UK for £25.000, the car had 60 miles on it but was standing at the dealer for a year. I bought it in 2020. Now I traded this in for a 6 months old 520d estate car, gorgeous car. I got £17.000 for the 430i and paid £39.000 for the 520d. So I only lost £8000 in 4 years, I can live with that…
Let’s see. Went to dealer to tyre kick a car he can’t afford. Told the truth regarding the worth of his trade, went into narcissistic rage, and expects dealer to be grovelling. Hope the car yard sues him over this video series

Paul, doesn't matter. Keep the 330i and forget about shitty EVs. I've got an old E92 330i coupe since 2013, best purchase I ever made in my life. Now with 155k km on the clock, going strong. My next car if I ever need one will be a Lexus or Toyota diesel with the 12V battery to make it "eco", as I do 130 km a day.

Who still buys new BMW's? Have you not done research? If you did, you'd stear clear of the brand. Yes, they were once iconic up until the early 90's but after that, any previous owner or mechanic will tell you they are the worst. Today they are resting on their 70's -80's laurels but they are far removed from that era. They are far removed from the the pre 90's cars that gained recognition as nice, well handling and built German cars. Just consider the fact that they even removed the oil dipstisk relying only on a often times inaccurate electronic level sensor. Who does this?
Also, who today doesn't know they depreciate worse than any other car brand. Just look at used ones right out of warranty. I actually think the depreciate more than the other horrible German brands. People who gained wealth don't buy BMW's and Mercedes. Read the book the Millionare Next Door. They instead buy Toyotas and Lexus but to be honest, today you can load up a Toyota with most of the things that bring it close to a Lexus.
Paul, do yourself a favor and stop digging yourself further into debt. When it seems right, get rid of the BMW and buy a Camry.
