Hope you all like this one! Been cooking it up for a few months. If you haven't already, I would very much appreciate you clicking that big juicy subscribe button. 🤠
Great idea
I love it, George 🤗🦋 Anything that makes a bee happy, makes me happy! 🐝 well done
"The best time to plant a garden was yesterday, the next best time to plant a garden, is today."
Wise words
If there were gardens instead of grass the world would be a more colorful place.
Surely the day before yesterday is better?
Any day is better than never.
Trees and Bees are forever planted in my heart and soul. This wild garden is amazing! Thank you.🐝🌲
Landscape designer here: Leave your wildflower meadow until way into winter (feb/early march) before cutting, this creates habitat to overwinter for a lot of other insects than just bees. Mow it, leave the droppings outside for roughly 2 days and then take away everything you have cut. Taking away the droppings is important because the wildflower thrives in very harsh conditions, food wise. Next spring you really don't need to spoil your wildflower meadow this much. A plant feed is doing the opposite from what you're hoping to achieve, and will make it easier for grasses to overtake your beautiful meadow. Also, by the time you have been mowing, all the seeds have already fallen out of the plant and have spreaded themselves. So the meadow is ready for another year, with your effort needed only once a year. Enjoy the flowers, hopefully for many years. 🐝
Great advice! Love to see the garden next year in the different seasons!
Harry is a good supervisor.

"Recent studies suggest that moths visit as many species by night as honeybees and bumblebees do by day, and the flowers of many of our crop species are included in their rounds."
I like the idea that when the bees all go to bed, the moths come in to the night shift!
My mums lawn is all long and flowery, and her cat loves it! The other day the cat was hidden in the long grass with just her ears poking out 😻
I can't remember here in the suburban Midlands ever seeing a moth for years now. They have simply gone. Thanks for your comment. Robert, uk.
I was just thinking that my cat would love that garden - los of places to hide.
Flies are also pollinators. Every creature has evolved to fill a niche in our wonderful environment. In Australia we have native stingless bees. About the size of a fly, they produce very rich, sweet honey called sugarbag by our First Nations people. We have native bee hives in our yard to try to help their numbers, as deforestation has decimated their habitat.
I was impressed with Harry’s climbing up the trellis ladder!
Genuinely laughed out loud, he was very impressive.
I thought the same hahaha
This man is living the dream - own lil patch of land to tend to, fluffy cats, mountain view...
🤠
Your comment reminds me of Alexander Pope's poem 'Solitude'.
George what a delightful video. Your hard work definitely paid off it’s lovely.
Thanks Stella!
Omg living so close to your parents that their cat regularly comes to visit you sounds so lovely 😭
Your flower meadow looks lovely. You could use those old paving stones for a pathway and a small seating area so you can enjoy being in it.
Obscenely wholesome content
Haha thank you!!
Your parents' cat new nickname, "Dirty Harry," 😂 Clint Eastwood would have a laugh 😅 Lol
The weighted ladder trick is impressive.
That one was from my Dad. Definitely a good trick!
@@Patchy 👏 dad
After watching your beautiful video, and Harry, my blood pressure has gone down from yellow on the BP monitor to green! Thanks George.
You're the bees knees! Well done!
Right? Helping them walk, or fly rather.😅
George mix a bunch of seed packets with soil and water. Form into balls and allow them to dry a little. Then on a nice misty day drive around and toss the seed balls along the country lanes. See what comes up in Spring. We do that with Blue Bonnet seeds. fyi.
Lovely idea but please before you do that, make sure that all the seeds are of native plants. You don't want to introduce neophytes into an ecosystem where they do not belong. They can decimate native plants by spreading like wildfire. (That goes for planting stuff in general, in your gardens, too)
I do that with apples from my heritage apple tree, all over the county.
Watching your videos is like hanging out with a good friend; you're relaxed but always end up laughing out loud
Bees, cats, and flowers, officially my new favorite video of yours!😻🌻🐝
This was so lovely to watch, George! Thank you for sharing a bit of beauty with us ❤
Greetings from Los Angeles, California! The meadow is beautiful, George. I adore Harry and his love of nature (dirt).
Thank you! I also adore Harry (aka Dirty Harry) very much.
I loved this. You also made other Earth happy! She will re-grow many different flowers every year from this planting! Great job!❤❤
George being a Cottagecore Girlie just in time for Bratdunnett Beesearch Summer. Well done 👏🏽
No rotten apples detected in this meadow
I’m all caught up on the latest beesearch. Thanks!
Ah nice one! I left an entire corner of my big garden untouched all year - thistles, bees and all sorts of stuff springing up! Was awesome.
Yas very good get the bees in
That wall at the back is crying out for a couple of fruit trees planted espalier. If you are getting midge, possibly warm and sheltered enough for a pear tree.
Love the garden and, evidently, so does Harry. A bee story: I planted an apple tree 10 years ago when I first bought my house. It always gave me lots of apples, once it matured. But then some new neighbors moved in and began to keep bees. They're now up to 8 hives and I've never had such a bumper crop of apples. I couldn't give them away and make applesauce fast enough. Even the wild apple tree just across the property line is completely loaded. Mad respect for the little guys!
YAY! Good for you Patchy!! The meadow looks amazing. That video itself was therapeutic. Beautiful music.
That will be fun for your wee cat to play in.
It will! I need to make the garden a bit safer before I let her out and about though.
@@Patchy make a video about the cat please!
A true definition of "the grass is greener where you water it."
Looks beautiful George ❤ maybe next year you could plant some fruit trees! The bees will love those as well 🐝
I'd love to do that!!
Dang George, that's amazing! Your germination rate was phenomenal. Tell me you'll let them all go to seed and die in place? Then you can mow them down, leave the dead stalks there and contribute to the health of the soil as well. This is a dream of mine, on a small piece of land I have. Nice to see you succeed at it especially on your first try.
Aw that's good to know it went well haha. I really have no clue about any of this so thanks for the tips. I think that sounds like a good plan! Might make a proper path up the middle and change the top bit so that it's a seating/shaded area, but would quite like to keep the meadow going.
I love your meadow. You did a great job! Give Hatty a few tickles for me. ❤
Harry, not Hatty..
@@Patchymake it a winding path!!! You could plant a shade tree!!!
@@Patchy I was just thinking a curved pathway would add to your meadow. And maybe a bench!
That’s looks amazing!
Junior is clearly way too sensible to be out rolling in mud like Harry
Harry was having a Great Time. 😊❤
As a gardening fanatic and experimentor, ive always been told that its better to not compact the soil, but your wildflowers are beautiful anyway!
Yeah, the roller probably wasn’t necessary but it turned out beautifully nonetheless!
Ohh, you've inspired me to plan my garden for next year! It's totally transformed your garden.
2:48 Harry really said: “They see me rollin’, they hatin’…”
White sneakers and garden work: a perfect combination George! 🤣
Taking a leaf out of Harry's book... shoes were just looking too clean
I was so busy watching Harry, I'm afraid I'll have to replay your video again because I didn't listened to one word you said ☺
Oh wow!!! Wow, wow!!! Stunning, beautiful and such happy bees.
How lovely. Perhaps use the paver stones next spring as a walkway so you won't have to step on the wee baby plants. :) What a beautiful meadow. Well done.
Harry is a cutie!!
That wildflower patch is beautiful! I'm so happy you did it!!
You crack me up, George! Hope that hernia is ok.
Thank you for this. Beautiful view from your house. 😀loved seeing the cat have fun.
Thanks Claudia! It really is a magical place to stay/view to have...! :)
This is so dreamy and beautiful ❤
Thank you! :)
omg, the Cat climbing the lettuce! 🥺💘
If I EVER have the opportunity to do this, I WILL!!!
Glad to hear it! :)
What a lovely video ! ! Harry’s antics are the best 😊
❤❤❤❤❤ beautiful - love Harry. Hello to Junior. Hope to see her soon
She shall be making a big appearance in one of the next couple of videos!
@@Patchy 😊😊❤️❤️
Holy shit i am like 2x your size but cant lift those things that easy... wtf. Your a beast. No joke.
💪👨🏻🦰💪
@@Patchy no no. Your on steriods i am sure 😉
Well done, George!! Beautiful!! The little guys are so important.. 🐝🐝🐝🐝💚
We don’t have a garden since we moved in to a new place but I planted three sunflower plants in pots and I just love taking videos of all the bees, butterflies and other insects that love the flowers as much as I do.
Beautiful meadow and beautiful Harry! ❤
Beautiful video! Aside from learning about bees, gardening and June poetry, Harry in the background scaling the garden trellis, balancing on the stone wall and going commando in the dirt was equally entertaining (had the 'Mission Impossible' theme playing in my head) 🌻🌼🐝
You did well Mr Dunnett, your meadow is so lovely. That one Poppy that peaked through made me smile, against all odds it was determined to shine. Just as you do.
Give me a meadow bursting with wild flowers over a boring old green or dry lawn any day! Gorgeous!
It's beautiful! The poppies will multiply like mad!
I enjoy your videos. This looks like the start of a wonderful back garden! Thank you.
Wow! Really amazing! Love the guest appearance by Harry. 😺
Harry is such a sweetheart 🥹 and what a wild child!! This is SUCH a huge inspiration and motivation, you did such phenomenal work!! 🐝
Martijn Doolaard would be proud of the work ethic! :-)
Haha I don't hold a candle to him though! He's a machine.
Good for you, George! The meadow is so beautiful.
Brilliant George, your a funny guy! I love the sarcasm!
thank your for this peaceful beautiful video :) the meadow is amazing! the jokes were good too!
Its so cool, thank you for telling us about bees, and so very nice you decided this for your garden! Nature and creativity, and beautiful.
If you plant in june youre a bafoon. Love it. These videos make me so happy. Stay well.
Thanks for watching!! :)
@@Patchy Always look forward to your videos. The tranquility and subtle humor makes them a gem. I went for a hike the other week and saw some amazing wildflowers, look similar to your yard, love the idea. Keep giving them pre-workout mix, it is clearly working.
I just love your channel. I always look forward to it. It's so relaxing, and your sense of humor is top notch. Oh, and you have mad baking skills too! 😊
You did a very lovely thing for the bees (and more!) in your area…the bees, the bugs, the moths, the birds, let’s not forget Harry🙂( who spread the seeds by rolling around in the dirt) - are all winners, thanks to you.
Greetings from São Paulo, Brasil! Good job George! The garden looked wonderful and the bees certainly approved. Obviously it would have been impossible to have created this garden without Harry's supervision!
Harry’s visits were brilliant.
Loved your garden project.
Lovely idea.🪴🐝🐝🐝🐝
Wow!! Great job Patchy 🌸🌼🪻🌺
Brilliantly 🐝done George! Beautiful to🐝 look🐝 at & more importantly, 🐝beautiful for the bees to🐝 enjoy. Very 🐝impressed 🐝by your commitment 🐝to making a difference. 👏👏👏🐝🍯
Thanks Bee-onnie! :)
@@Patchy 😆
Ah George, you give me such a lift today! Thank you🐝
I like the thought of having a pathway in a wavy pattern mowed through the meadow to a spot at the back for a space with a chair and table for you to enjoy a book and a wee drink.
I loved Harry’s visiting and was amazed at his climbing skills. The garden looked amazing. I wish I had a big garden to do something similar. Well done George.
Well done you xx
Cheers Gerry! :)
George .. excellent work!! Looks gorgeous!! Harry certainly had the time of his life didn’t he, jumping and rolling around all over the place. Looks so pretty, and you’re doing a fantastic thing for the bees .. well done ❤
Beautiful flowers with your background mountain....🫠
George what a cool and thoughtful idea. It turned out beautifully. I’m sure the bees are very happy.
Love your garden
I do feel very lucky to have it
Bravo !!!
Whoah George! That is beautiful. ❤
Beautiful. You could mow a path through it but the way your walking thru it looks good too. What a nice tribute to our hard working bees. I planted my front year into a bee garden a few years ago and love it.
Stunning! I love it ! 🌼🌸🌻🌺🌼🌻🌸💜
Thank you! 😊
George, you are an amazing young man and also very funny!😂😂😂❤❤❤❤ Love the meadow 🤩
I can agree, After your last frost is best time to plant your flower garden.
I think it turned out perfectly!! Thank you for sharing your Dad, Harry and your lovely flowers. See you in the next one.
Brilliant mate- Going to do similar. Keep it up
Get the flowers in chief
You probably figured it out after a couple days but after you set the sprinkler, all you need to do is gently pull the hose towards you, instead of hand setting to each area.(Of course they do tip over sometimes). Best bonus ,besides the lovely smells and bees, is No Mowing ;)
George, you are a beautiful person!
Fantastic video!
I have a small patch at the back of my garden that is my ‘wild garden.’
The insects and bees love it! As does my cat 😍
Well done George, absolutely beautiful. Wonderful video all round 😊.
This is *lovely* - watching your meadow come to life was soul-warming.
Thank you. I'm sure the bees and every creature around you are grateful for this oasis, as am I for getting to see it growing up. 🌱
Agreed - the music and the visuals were calming, interrupted only by my snorting at all the best humorous bits which You do so well. Thanks again.
George, I love that you did this for the bees and for your pleasure! I say you were VERY successful. And now you have a great start for next year! Thank you for doing the B-search and inspiring others to do the same!! 🙏🐝🌼❤
Fantastic George I love it!
The cats will just love playing in the wild garden chasing butterflies etc. 🌷🌻🌼🌺🌸🥀
George it's awesome! Glad you're on the bandwagon with the rest of us nature nuts. Without bees we probably wouldn't exist and they give so much back to us.
I've let a half acre go back to the wild. I have wild turkeys, bees, a fox, owls, hawks and the occasional bear. They love it.
Give Junior a pat for me.
Aw wow that sounds amazing! I don't envy the bears though...! I will indeed pass on the pat.
I love looking at the result! I have been wanting to plant flowers in a long pot for year now. Thank you for the sign
"This powerful machine you see in front of you....." So great! 🙂
Cats go nuts when you're digging in the garden. Harry is so cute!
Wow, what a great result..! So beautiful!
lovely! missed your videos, George
