@@ukesfigures not a huge fan of the Tim look. But you did such a fanfuckingtastic job with that one, I brought up CC Beck. Because it's a look that no company has ever captured right. @ Schuster’s art on Action no.1 is a culmination of 5 years of preparation. Panel after panel awesomeness. Superman no.14 from 1942 was great cover-to-cover. But, you know Schuster had to resort to ghost artists most of the time. Swan and Infantino collaborated on a solid origin story in 1973. Gerry Conway and Garcia-Lopez did a very good job on their 1978 Solomon Grundy story. Tim Sale and Loeb’s book was different. It had the soul of Schuster and Siegel and the rigor of Stan Lee and John Romita’s Spider-man volumes. (Trust me, I paged all Action, Superman, DC Comics Presents, etc. volumes page by page to come to these conclusions.)
I have to agree with you. I love Superman For All Seasons so much. That full page image of him within the flames with Lois saying “this was a job for Superman” gave me goosebumps on my first read through.
I absolutely adore Superman: For All Seasons, and even though it isn't my favorite story (currently probably Birthright right now!) it's an amazing story for anyone wanting to get into Big S like you said. Amazing figure too man, I love this video and I also love your McFarlane custom one, keep it up!

Great work! I don’t know too much about Superman but I saw this in my recommended and instantly clicked. It’s really well done and I love the ink shading. My only suggestion would not be for the figure but for recording as I highly recommend using a Pop filter in front of your mic to prevent “popping you P’s” in the voiceover (you’ll notice your audio levels go up, or “pop” when you say a word with P, a pop filter prevents this). Have you ever noticed how similar Superman Batman Supetgirl is to He-Man and She-Ra in the Secret of the Sword?

@@Sherdderworld Personally I feel that it's simplifies the internal mental struggle that someone is going through to just "Superman is inspirational and therefore stopped someone from doing something" I think it's less directly out of touch and more over simplified a bit
@@ukesfigures As someone who personally has had suicidal thoughts and has helped prevented friends making that final choice I feel that is an extremely narrow read of what happened. @@Sherdderworld I definitely agree with your take and think that is the general idea of what is supposed to be portrayed, I just think that the page has been reposted and in online discussion so much that people generally lose the meaning of the actual moment. I just think in the scope of things that it was a relatively un-necessary moment to just kind of be a simple display of why Superman is good (which I know is the entire point of All Star Superman but it cam kind of feels like cheap and easy bait). Maybe it is just me looking at it from a 2020s lense but it feels just like a little weird and stereotypical (even if not intended) but I might be looking too into it
I agree that All-Star isn't the be all end all Superman book, but I'd be curious to know why you're of the opinion that the girl jumping off the roof in All-Star is "out of touch"?
This is an incredibly subjective take but in my opinion: 1) I think that it has lost it's meaning online be because of how much people have overshared this page. Most people instead of looking at the overall scope of why it is meaningful just kind of look at it as "Superman is so amazing that he can even talk someone out of jumping" (tho that's not a fault of the story itself) 2) Though the point of the moment is that "Superman would stop to help anyone" I feel that from a writing perspective it is a little bit weird to me for them to throw it in their abruptly but again that might be looking at it retroactively from an internet perspective 3) Honestly one of my bigger issues (and this is kind of petty ngl) is that they depicted the girl as a very stereotypical mid 2000s "emo/alt/edgy" person, it just feels a little bit on the nose in a semi poor tasting way, but that's just me
