This series is an exciting look at the way video game selling/buying at flea markets on the West coast has changed over time. Thanks for documenting your trips and editing them for us.
Yeah the downside of more exposure on the internet and social media has increased popularity and demand for the retro stuff, and more people are savvy to it now. Glad I got most of mine when it was still cheap.
Everyone thinks they have gold thanks to the few articles that have come out in the past several years "Your video games could be worth a fortune" LOL!
2016…man. I recall hunting way back in 2007, 2008. I was finding NES carts at the flea market for $2-$5 a pop. Generally around $3 each. Those were the days.
@@Jasontyo So six years is now "old"??? You shoulda seen flea markets in the early 80s. I wish I at least took some photos. My mom sold at flea markets every weekend and I would tag along (was about 12 then). There used to be booths of people selling nothing but video game carts and systems, and everything was brand new. One guy in particular had just about every Atari/Intellivision/Colecovision/etc. cart you could think of and all the systems too. This was pre-NES, pre-video game crash, and this guy had it all. This was at Fleaport, a HUGE indoor flea market run out of a converted department store at a mall near JFK Airport in late 1982.
I go to the same flea market as pat and I remember when prices were this good. Now a days I occasionally find a good deal; like ridge racer for $4 or ps2 games for a dollar each a few weeks ago. But it’s nothing like back then. Anyways great vid.
Now is the time to collect for PS2 (at least here in Europe). Tons and tons of good games are still cheap, and bundle deals are plenty and still worth it
Good to see one of these again. As someone who has spent 20+ years going to various flea markets in California, the reseller that guy was talking about is an all too common tale. They do a clean sweep at 6am, cherry pick the good stuff and sell it all on eBay. Pretty sad and frustrating with how many people just fucked this hobby over with greed. That being said, you can still beat them to the punch, and knowledge is power and speed at a flea market.
@@DanielRivera-on5qh Absolutely, that's why I mentioned you can beat them to the punch. Also, I've noticed a lot of the people that sweep and resell at the swap meets don't know their stuff, they just look up every game on their phone so you can outpace them. They don't know obscure consoles either.
@@DanielRivera-on5qh For sure. I got a loose Coleco Vision less than a year ago at a swap meet here in California, and right as I walked up to the seller's area I saw 2 guys that already bought a PS1 and some other gaming stuff from the seller. They looked at it, put it down and moved on. I asked the seller how much and he said $20. It's in fantastic shape. They only buy stuff they know they can flip and resell. So few people out there are true collectors.
@@DrBizz yeah some reseller/ collector near me sold me a boxed contra for $30. Blows my mind how I was able to get that deal, these kid resellers don't know what's significant lol
Lesson learned, I used too pass up just buying the case , but nowadays, on ebay , they be selling them empty for a lot of money, I'd rather buy just the case for 1-3$ than 20$ or more , then hopefully find the disc and fill it.
Dude, I wasn't even hunting for games in 2016, and until last year I was finding tons of stuff, but it did take a good amont of time and effort searching through classifieds and going to thrift stores or Yard Sales. My big hits got fewer and farther between until I just gave up and moved on.
When these were current-ish, I loved seeing the deals, but these days, it’s almost more fun to see the things Pat skipped on. I wish I had a record of all the games I passed on in 2016 that are worth triple now. Hell, the GameCube consoles alone…
*Drops the console* "oops!". ha-ha -- They did re-release the Snoopy Snow Cone maker not too many years back, I saw it at target etc. So it should be fairly easy to find one in good shape these days!
This feels like a fever dream. I miss when I could haggle over consoles like that. Its flabbergasting to think that you got NES systems for 20 and 35 bucks.
I don't know how much the price on Rayearth has changed since I bought my Japanese copy for like $20, but now I've heard it's worth it not just for the massive amount of money saved but also for being saved from Victor Ireland's writing. I've heard at least one example of the writing in the game showing Vic at his lowbrow standards.
I will agree the OG SNES design is better, and the one we got in NA is a little ugly, but what's the hate for the purple? It's the best part of the ugly box
I was literally explaining the snoopy snowcone machine to my partner earlier tonight. She'd never heard of it before, and I was saying that they were all over the place and that I was shocked She'd never seen one before. But what are the odds!! I wanted one too. My cousins had it. Actually the snow cones weren't that great, the ice was too chunky to really absorb the syrup. At least on theirs which might have been because it was old and possibly second hand.
Yep, and here’s another one: never call the item specifically by its name. Just ask “how much/what are you asking?” and hold it up. Specificity is a tell.

In 2016 I was getting Playstations for $5 and NESs for $10 at the thrift stores, now IF you can find them they're behind glass because they're $75.

Gotta get that cereal box wata graded
Fuck wata lol
They are doing the spoon and Bowl as we speak
I will mentally insert my own "AND ME FRANK!"
I think its cool you still have and release all this old footage. Id imagine flea markets aren't what they used to be.
A lot of people started feeling nostalgic during the lockdowns, so old computers and console prices have shot up.
I don't think this is old footage.

LOVE IT Pat, thanks for sharing another of these with us! Flee Market Madness, best thing on YT
Oh wow, I had that Rainbow Bright doll when I was little. Seeing it again unlocked some early childhood memories.
We need more of this series since it's 15 years of Flea Market Madness
4:04 Not gonna lie, that’s like a first I’ve seen Saban’s Masked Rider with his antennas still on the figure. XD
That rainbow bright doll was clean

so glad we got the japanese model style snes over here in europe for sure
Love you pat. Video starts at 1:50
I’ve been watching these since I was 12. I’m 22 now
That was the same SNES Australia got. Much better design than the US SNES.
Not one Amico at the flea market, what's the world coming to? .... 6:33 oh wait!! WOOOOO!!!
Did anyone see the Amico controller in the GPS bin? Hmmm Tommy
When I heard you talking about the NX I was like “wait what”
I had that exact Snoopy snow cone maker as a kid. I want to say you didn't miss anything special, but you did--that thing was both fun and delicious!
We had all three of them TV trays as kids. My grandma went through is phase of ten years of always buying us trays
It always pains me to see stuff at flea markets in direct sunlight, especially toys.
Can tell you're a preservationist lol

Rush 2049 and crusin exotica are expensive now.
Love seeing the older footage.
4:57 José!
"WHAAAAAT?!"
Omg I had that exact pac man tray when I was little! I forgot all about that!
Frank better have a robust collection of Avalon Hill Statis Pro Baseball games.
Can't wait for that NX launch
Three bucks for a bag of oranges is itself a savings compared to what my grocery store has charged since COVID.
I was going to freak if you didn’t get that Fzero GX. One of the greatest racing games of all time.
Awesome as always. Keep 'em comin'! Don't turn this fckn machine off!
God I love flea market madness so much.
Great stuff ypur flea market vids allways make my day lets gooo
Who do you think you're kidding Pat? No one is making the Intellivision 4

Doesn’t seem like there will ever be any recent footage for flea market madness again
Pat you need to try WEETOS cereal, that's the F'n best 👌

Knocking Sonic 2 calling it 50 cents worth. No way. Sonic 2 is one of the greatest games of all time.
Used to be an oversupply of that game back then though
I had like two of those Snoopy Snowcone machines! It was a pain in the ass!
THX Pat!!!
This video is not in your Flea Market Madness Playlist FYI.
Enjoy watching this series :)
I hope those oranges were good, I havent found a good bag of them in years.
Dammit Pat you’re
gonna make me spend money on Magic Spoon! You win this round!

Oh, 2016, such an innocent time!
Had the Snoopy SnoCone machine. It was great, but had to convince mom to break it out on rare occasions cuz it made a mess
Not sure how these flea market episodes work, but based on the commentary, this was originally filmed in 2016?
Ah, Sonic 2
I remember buying that new with my hard earned money, probably $40-50, which is a LOT of money to a kid
Sad to see it go for only 50 cents
350 is a steal for Magic Knight. I would have definitely bought it
SEEEEAALLED!!
Yo, this video is missing from the Flea Market Madness playlist. Just a heads up.
I got super sad when I didn't see/hear the "AND FRANK!"
I got Magic Knight Rayearth from my neighbor who is a scrapper. I made out like a bandit.
I… I like the Wii. I don’t get all the hate on that system.
*sniff, sniff*
nothing wrong with the Wii, but the WiiU was crap, also was Sony and Microsoft's copycats, the Kinect and the Move.
Great haul
Magic spoon is really good!! I'd love to try the bars.
I’d kill for 2016 prices, I think I paid like $20 for FZero GX two years ago, $80 is nuts and just going to get worse
I will agree the OG SNES design is better, and the one we got in NA is a little ugly, but what's the hate for the purple? It's the best part of the ugly box
Best damn show on UA-cam😎
He was on pawn stars lol
oh man these prices if only these were still the prices
Dat psa 10 Magic Spoon though.
