      As a classical pianist, it is easily my favorite chord. Can’t wait to try it out with some bebop improv

    It also reminded me of my dad playing who is a pianist - I listened a lot to him when I was a kid.. I even shed a tear, thanks

    I just feel like it’s all running notes up and down - modal. The rhythm is not varied to really bring out that bebop essence. But hey, I can’t play like Peter… he’s genius in his own right.

    So basically a Dbmajor triad over an F major Triad?

    • @stevenpietrusza6944
      @stevenpietrusza6944 Рік тому

      nah fool, augmented major 7th arpeggio off the third

    • @DanielBarberMusic
      @DanielBarberMusic Рік тому +3

      Almost... you can think of the triad a major third below the root, so in this case, Db, but it's not over a root triad, but the third and seventh of the main chord. This is often referred to as an upper structure, and you can use this as the harmonic basis for blowing over it with an F7alt scale because you already have the sharp 5 and sharp 9. Throw in a flat 9 and sharp 11 and there you are. :-)

    • @nezkeys79
      @nezkeys79 Рік тому

      @@DanielBarberMusic its the same without the C
      It's literally F+A and then a Db triad

    • @nezkeys79
      @nezkeys79 Рік тому +1

      @stevenpietrusza6944 as if your way of processing this is any easier than just thinking of a Db triad / F triad (without the C)
      Amaj7(aug5) / F is the same thing just conceptualising a Db major triad is obviously easier than telling a learner "augmented major 7th arpeggio off the third" 🤡
      Imagine calling people fools on the internet for something so ridiculously pedantic when you have 33 subscribers and still in the "F blues and Canteloupe Island jam nights with uni mates" phase
