Just an attention: cutting discs are made to cut on its radial edge direction and not on its face as displayed on grinding the drill. It is too dangerous use its face as displayed as it can brake on parts. Just replacing the disc by a rough disc / grinding disc will fix and avoiding accidents.

I just take my drill bits to the grinding wheel. Takes me maybe 45 seconds to do each one and I'm done. What you got going on there is nice but it's way too much work

This isn't the way. It's dangerous you won't get the escape angle on your drill so it won't cut anything but brass wich need a "no cut" sharpening. A bench grind is much easier and and quicker once mastered . It will gave you better result and to be good at it won't take you more than a few test.

I don't agree Your first proposal: Cutting discs are _NOT_ for grinding. Many cutting discs may explode when abused for grinding, they are for cutting only! The second hint is correctly (my grinder even has a groove for drills). Your result is well done 👍👍. I'm a mechanic from Germany.

A drawer full of drill bits and most are so dull they will hardly cut through a piece of hard wood. Your use of the angle grinder is my only choice as I don't have a bench grinder. Thanks for the tips.

сразу видно что инструкцию к ушм не читал и на правила безопасности болт с гайкой клал, а потом плачутся то один палец себе отрезал, то другому глаз выбило, и диск разлетелся, кароче нефиг всяких индейцев слушать, берегите себя и следуйте инструкции по использованию, это по взрослому 👍🎂, пс это касается тех кто состоит из воды на 80%, это не касается тех кто из металла

I am from Russia and always respond to all comments on my videos. I consider this a sign of politeness and respect for the audience.
Now essentially the sharpening method. From my practice of sharpening drills, I can notice that when sharpening a large diameter drill, there are no special problems, unlike small drills with a diameter of 2-3 mm. And for such drills, this method is not very applicable. All the best to your channel.

На таком диаметре можно и перемычку уменьшить подтачивая её тонким отрезным ругом- но это уже прфессиональная заточка.

Der Winkel eines Spiral Bohrers beträgt 116 -118 Grad und nicht 120 Grad.Habe Jahre lang alle Arten von Bohrern geschliffen.Also ran an den Schleifbock 60 er und 40 Körnung verwenden.Schleiflehre für Bohrer zum kontrollieren nicht vergessen.

How do you sharpen drill bits that have a split point? I have Viper drill bits with a 118 deg split point.
I think if I get a metalwork set I would get a style that I can sharpen myself as needed knowing now how rapidly cutting can dull a bit when speed and heat are not well controlled.
