Of that's what those prisms are, I have a few, but did wonder what they're for exactly, never thought to polarise it before

😆R🤣O🙃F😂LMAO!!! Best projector 'breakdown' video EVER! Great editing accent @ 4:45. "Well, that got dangerous." 😱️
"This plastic just crumbles." (nothing to do with me ripping it apart with my bare hands.) 🤷‍♂
"This one is tough. Time for the heat gun (while ignoring the 4 screws)"️🔥 (HEY! MS eliminated the devil emojis! WTF?)
"For some strange reason, this is very therapeutic (while continuing to crumble it into little bits)." Yes, I needed a good morning belly laugh with my pal, Zen.😜
Finished the Teensy waveform module. But so far, something catastrophic happens every time I start putting a demo together. The first time, I overheated the styrofoam that was separating the prototype boards, so it sagged and shorted their power rails, killing the Teensy 4.1. So, now I have a nice safe acrylic case. Last night, I lost X & Y signals. Apparently some Arduino updates corrupted my installation, so no hardware damage. 2 steps forward, one step back.
Teensy MCUs are out of stock until after the chip shortages. Only one spare T4.1 remains. Haven't even started wiring the MIDI desk yet (already killed a 7" Nextion HMI by tearing the matrix's ribbon cable, while fitting it to the front panel. Only ~ a month's turnaround to China.). No pressure, eh? But, I can still make progress with the Akai MIDI desk while waiting. One baby step at a time, right Zen?
I was about to email you to ask, "What was that freebie video editing software that you had mentioned that you like?' I'll need that for my project demo. 😎

Hey Herm, the devil's emojies are bad for you and have been removed for the benefit of your soul. Now go say " Hail Marry " 5 times lol.
The screws weren't ignored, I just wanted to break the bond between the glass cube and plastic, I figured having the larger part still on would give me a better hold... Nope. However later this week I will be deliberately using the heat gun in a comical and improper way on another projector tear down.
The program I use now is Window's Movie Maker, that is part of Windows Live Essentials now, or altogether not easily available/supported due to BS.exe running at Microsoft. I have also tried OpenShot and it seems pretty comprehensive though not as stable as I would like so save much and save often.
Glad you have more of your laser project works out, I hope you post up video when you get it all running. I can learn some programming stuff from you perhaps.
Let me know if you need anything else!

Hail, I've already been married twice and that was already two too many. I'll just settle for doomed soles, because AFAIC those are the only ones I have. lol
Besides, apparently the underworld is far more interesting than floating around on boring old clouds, listening to harps all day w/o any genitals. According to the TV series, Satan is an awesome party host.
Yes, I used MS Movie Maker several years ago, but thought you mentioned another editor. Just checked the MS Store and there's dozens of apps with that name, mostly freebies. Guess I'll try out the highest rated one(s).
As it happens, I'm considering upgrades for my no-name 40kpps galvos to DT-40s or better, depending on the going $. If you know of any good deals, please shoot me an email. 😎

    Hi,
very helpful video! How did you remove the three ribbon cables for the colours? I almost broke one of them trying to remove it and can`t figure out how they are held in. Are they clamped? Or do they just pull out?
    Best regards

The dark back end of the connector socket connected to the board raises up and released the ribbon cable.

@@Zenodilodon Thank you so much! It worked right away and I can finally start fixing my projector.

What does it mean when I have vertical red lines on my screen?

That's a tough one. Either the ribbon cable for the DMD is loose or the DMD/it's drive IC has failed. I'd suggest trying to remove, clean and reconnect the DMD cable.

My apologies, there is no DMD, it's an LCD projector, Check the ribbon cables but on the 3 LCD ribbon cables. Same deal, different part.
