I live in Chapel Hill and just discovered your channel. I've learned that I've been doing everything wrong...which explains my high failure rate. Thanks for the great info on planting in clay soils, when to plant, and great local plant selections.
Like this video. Only change I would've made is the bricks in the boarder the same as the bricks on the house. The slate walkway was on point. Would've loved to seen that leveling/installation. Thanks! Good work!
Just found your channel! Binge watching! Would love to see how you accomplished the walkway. I am wanting to put a walkway like that in my yard because I think I could do it myself. But I have no experience. Do you have a video on your channel on how to do it?
That backyard looked bigger when it was overgrown. The arborvitie doesn't look too good. Like what you've done so far. The small area in front looks nice.
That looks awesome! What a transformation, even before the perennials coming in the spring. Looking forward to seeing the follow up. Thanks for sharing!
I'm so glad to see you do these types of videos. Great job. Maybe do a tutorial on that brick edging...would love to copy that in a walkway to keep the mulch back....
Looks really good. I'm going to offer my unsolicited advice so be warned. I would plant more arborvitaes against the fence to add height and break up the wood fencing. Also, something taller behind the miniature hollies will add a nice focal point to that side of the walkway. Of course, IMHO and YMMV...
WOW it looks amazing!! I love the walkway & ur plans to have the plantings creep over the edges will look BEAUTIFUL! I'm a visionary as well so I can totally see the vision as u explain it! Awesome makeover! 👍🏾💚💚
It looks great so far! I can't wait to see it completed! Why do you not like to plant herbaceous perennials now? (I have some anemones and hosta in the nursery cans. Should I go ahead and plant them anyway? I am in zone 7B in Alabama.)
That turned out really great. Love the walkway and I’m looking for the the spring addition. I just planted some perennials last week because they were in the cans too long. I hope they will survive. Do you wait to plant grasses too?

I know life has been crazy and unusual for us all lately, but any chance you did an update video for this property?
Was there a follow up on this?
Best video yet ! Excellent!!!

We had two long dry spells this year and all the arborvitae that weren't watered look like that

I will show more detail the next time. Thanks for watching.
👍❤️😊
Did you ever film this completed after you put the perennials in in the spring?

You inspired me go buy a mahonia. I am in NJ, zone 7 and Red Buds do great here too. I’ll be watching to see what perennials you use.
I look forward to seeing spring when you start adding the color. I know I'll get some very good ideas.
Great transformation, especially the walkway. That yard is going to be gorgeous especially with all the natives.
I think so. By midsummer next year, I will have it looking good.
OUTSTANDING Jim! Great time to revitalize old beds. I can't wait to see it once you put in the soft perennials.
I love what you’re doing there. Combination of plants will look awesome! Tfs
Love the videos, especially the landscaping videos, keep up the great work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love these types of videos esp. since I live in same planting zone. Thanks!
So beautiful! I’d love to see how you put in the walkway. I’ve been wanting to do one myself to keep costs down.
I would've wanted to see how the brick border was set in and created...
The cleaning and replanting videos are so enjoyable and the design is great. The music is good. Whose music is it?

Jim!!! Where were your long pants?? and long socks ???

😊👌💕
Your yard is a lot smaller than you had for sure.
Oh yeah. Weirdly though, the actual flat cleared space that is ready to be planted isn't that different
