My worry about Brayden George is that by the time he is ready to play he will effectively have lost three years of his most important development years. North took the risk of drafting him with a ruptured ACL, which I thought was worth the risk at the time because he would have gone as a top 10 pick if he hadn't picked up that injury.
Great call regarding Matty Jefferson. All the reports I'm hearing out of the club are that he's put on a fair bit of size, has grown, looking really confident, marking the ball super well and using the ball well. I think he'll play a few games in 2025 but, I'm expecting big things for him in 2026 and beyond.
Oscar Ryan isnt a bad shout for one of these spots ngl, has been a really solid rebounding half back for the crows, been looking better than Laird and Smith more oft than not.
Isaac Keeler probably a worthy one on this list too. Impressed in the second half of the season for the saints in the VFL and came play as a key defender or forward. Could fill a hole for Battle
My tips for Richmond are 1. Liam Fawcett (key forward), spent most of 2024 injured, and seem to have hit pre season hard, and Ollie Hayes-Brown, a 208cm Cat-B Ruck, who had a 63 hit out game in the VFL, among many other strong performances
I can tell you right now from going and watching training myself and speaking to goody there, Matt Jefferson is gonna be a big piece of the dees foward line next year. Expect a very early debut, plus Petty going down to the backline again (Thank fucking god)
@ he’s certainly put on some size and despite what the afl app says he’s had a growth spurt as well, around the 199cm mark. He looks like an absolute weapon with so much confidence next to roo and disco
Jeffo will get a spot this year. Been too light in the body and needs to fill out. Can see him up the ground more with JVR in the square. Petty to stay forward as well with a big pre-season which he didn't have last year.
FULLY AGREE!!!! With your take on Brayden George mate. As soon as a read the videos title and clicked on it I was screaming BRAYDEN GEORGE! 😂 Yeah I do agree though. The big sausage looks to be tracking well I the pre-season and I believe he'll be available roughly by around Round 6 at the earliest. Fingers crossed. My mind drifts to Jacob Konstanty too though. North has struggled time and time again to get small forwards. This time though we got 2 new ones. Stevens will need time though Konstanty is ready! Small forward whose craft is all about the ruthless pressure and providing a small can provide one of I'd not both pressure and goals, that's a pass for that kind if player. Got him Pegged for a round 1 debut at North. RHJ is plausible, Harvey needs a big pre-season and Stevens I've mentioned before. So North needs two small forwards playing. Curtis is a lock and Konstanty should be too. Lad was a pick 20 in 2022 draft and has 2yrs of development and conditioning under his belt. Yuuuuup! Gotta get him in Daz and a round 1 debut at his new club would scream an absolute hype storm and boost to that young man's confidence and hunger. Gotta grow and nurture that mate and I truly hope North melbourne maximise these steak knife's cause I love me some steak and want those goals and/or F50 tackles served on a silver platter! Haha!
The crows cant continue making the mistake of not playing these young fellas who deserve a spot! Good signs from the crom towards the end of the season in that regard... we wanna see charlie, sid and possibly oscar fit into the team at some point along with our new recruits ofc
God I hope you are right about Charlie Edwards, he's one of my favourite prospects at the club. someone else to look out for is Toby Murray, Nick's younger brother, he's a ruck forward who is mobile and skilled in a really sexy way, (I'm so tired of O'Brien, he plays like a neanderthal). Toby has rocked up to pre season looking huge, like how Thilthorpe looked huge when he came back from the ACL, I reckon Toby gets a chance at some point.
Love the work Daz. 2 things first I don’t think it’s scaife it’s weddle that goes to CHF and why we didn’t take Hamish Davis twice as I wanted us to. Second if you are going to take a shot at peoples pronunciation you should pronounce words like pronunciation correctly - there’s no O it’s a nun not a noun!😂
Charlie Edwards is almost Zac Taylor but inches taller, exciting prospect! But Oscar Ryan, a rebounding half back, took every kick-in in the SANFL. Will Hamill delisted, expect Ryan to get opportunities.
@daztalksfooty Zac Taylor is the more natural footballer, rapped he got an opportunity last year! But Edwards has far more upside! Possibly more talented. Unfortunately for guys like this, including Taylor and all the other guys on the cusp of best 23. Nicksy will be desperate to play the best team, for pure wins and losses. I think this could count against an Edwards getting a proper go in the midfield. If I'm the club, back in Nicks and keep playing these kids, in their best position! Curtin, Edwards, Dowling ect.
I never felt that we needed another Key Forward, but I wasn't really considering Key Backs either (we don't need for much, honestly). I agree that they must feel that the forward line has plenty of fire-power. But, can you ever have enough mids?
@@daztalksfootyAs a North fan that watched way too much of the VFL Maley is way ahead of Goad in terms of being ready The game against Carlton he was clunking everything and kicking goals too his tank and contested ability is almost there kicking is his biggest glaring issue but I have no doubt he'll play this year and surprise some people Goad still looks like a giraffe on ice which is fair enough he showed some promising signs but his tank and body is no where near ready he'll be at least 2-3 years away from pushing selection
I feel for Brayden George he kind of feels like a bad luck Brian equivalent of a draftee. everytime he gets his body some what right and shows a bit at vfl level he has another injury set back. Hopefully he can get on the park at some point even if it's for a 5-10 game block to see what he's got and manage him accordingly.
Unfortunately Brayden George may not play at all next year. At best he might be VFL ready around July. North have given him contract until end of 2026 to alleviate any pressure on the kid.

I agree and it would be a shame
If he stays injury free then he’s good enough. Didn’t seem to bother Will Ashcroft. Big if of course
Come on folks, let's support content creators like Daz and subscribe.
I agree. 👍

I commentated OHB in a Keilor game in the NBL1, MY GOD the man is agile
@@daztalksfooty Agile for an NBL player or an AFL player? Either way, he's an exciting prospect
Was hoping for an Isaac Keeler mention but good video 😂👌
😂😂😂 my man!
Great call on Saad El-Hawli, I think he’ll feature quite a bit next year
Thanks mate, he's gonna dominate

He sure has
Dean Cox and Stuart Dew the most powerful and morbidly obese coaching pairing in the afl

Yeah TM is one a Crows mate of mine will not stop badgering me about (in a great way). Can't wait to see what he's got

I'm curious your thoughts on Finnbar Maley for North Melbourne. Very raw talent but i think he could be a real asset

@daztalksfooty I'm actually a terrible human but I have most people convinced otherwise

Nate I reckon

Yeah they have and look he doesn't need (or could) player 20 games but fully fit, we can see him shine
I rated Charlie’s Edward’s his one problem is he’s too similar to the other midfielders that the crows have
Subbed

tbh it's a disrespect to Jack Riewoldt
great vid though mate
Why? Would it be better to compare an up and coming player to a non-superstar? Reach for the stars
Jedd busslinger to west coast next year for a future second and Noah long
Can't help but wonder why WB didn't trade him this year if the intention is to move him on
