Richmond fan, but I reckon Jagga will have by far the largest instant impact. Hes just proved he can play against adults with ease in the VFL. While he might not be the best player in the leauge in 5-10 years, like I have hopes for Lalor, he'll be the fastest to have an impact

Blight would be ahead of him in the pecking order, but with the loss of Rioli, and Gibcus and Young recovering from ACL's, he will definitely be in the frame for early selection.

Believe Tauru is injured at the moment and wont get a good pre season so i think it’ll be tough for the young bloke without a good preseason to make a big impact, 2nd season from Tauru for mine

Ross has a history of playing his rookies early. Phillapou played every game of his debut year. Same as Wilson in 2024. I think both Tobie and Tauru will get plenty of game time.

legitimately, I kinda see Dan Curtin as a clone of Dawson once he gets his body and his aerial game corrected, the Brissy game really smashed him which was unlucky because before that he was tracking along pretty well.

Love it mate, early i'm going with Sid Draper. Dash, pace and maybe even rebounding potential, can play off either arcs and will get plenty of minutes in the centre, super creative as well. Love the Dattoli shout, was super keen on his before the hype really came.
Fully agree with FOS at 1 mate. Excessively more so at HF. I've got him a lock for Rd1 in my line-up. Really think there's a perfect cover and release for Finn to start there. CD fits into HB to release Mckercher up on the wing so I'd have FOS up at HF though on tbe opposite side of the ground to Mckercher. My reasoning is that Scott as a tempered wingman will provide a weighted response and judge to play to O'Sullivan's raw skillet so if Fos leads to/and finds space, Scott will know when and how to pull that trigger. Also think a CHF in Darling and FFP in a Zurhaar or Curtis, it provides ALOT or interference, mentoring and protection for FOS. He won't be caught out or ganged up on easily as these player will have his back. probably my favourite prediction bar Mckercher on a wing for 2025 and I think should this come to pass it will allow FOS to just get started on his terms free reign. Parker can no doubt come in and mentor this lad one on one so should Finn need a breather, break or just some time in tbe VFL, Parks can come in to assume the role. And we could certainly see FOS play anywhere from HB, wing to HF. Maybe even a cheeky FFP as Finns got that wildcard factor, the Roles Royce as Sheeds puts it to cover the ground and come in and out of contact at the best time every time. If Brisbane go back to back, then he’ll be a premiership player barring injuries. Jagga will have an impact, that I am pretty sure of. It remains to be seen how big it will be. Could be anything from simply complementing the team to being one of the stand outs and all Australian material. That’s just Jagga. High floor, high ceiling. Joe Berry might become the biggest revelation. He comes into a really good side that is absolutely desperate for a small forward like him.

A lot of them already have good engines, So I don't think physically there is too much to worry about the question is how much midfield time will some of them get? Levi for instance imo will play more half-forward given the Lions midfield already stacked & settled & Lalor will play forward while he builds his endurance base. Draper probably plays straight away in the midfield of the Crows given their lack of versitlity so he is good chance to pick up a lot of disposals & get noticed, Jagga Smith is an interesting one for me because the Blues have a real strong accumlative midfield already, he will definitely run through there & is ready-made but I wonder how much he will do & be priotized as the ball winner. Josh Smillie, I just see playing the whole year given we were playing Dow in the midfield last year, I am for certain he will get plenty of midfield time, already physically there runs a good 2k time trial just off the better players and is at 195cm very impressive. I think Finn O'Sullivan will do some eye-catching stuff could see him kicking some running goals from 50, don't think will get enough of the pill in his first couple years. I think guys like Langford will do okay without dominating. I'm going with Draper to win the Rising Star nomination.

If the Tigers get an immediate lift, it'll be from the 2nd, 3rd, 4th year players drafted after the '20 flag, such as Brown, NcAulliffe, Sonsie, Ralphsmith etc. People tend to focus on new players drafted/traded & ignore the potential for internal improvement.

Even a superstar like Ben Cousins still started forward pocket, then half forward before becoming a mid. He has been given a huge role starting as a mid and if Yeo and Kelly get injured then he'll be the main man. That's why it needs the other guys there, so Harley doesn't feel that he has to fly the flag, kick goals, wrestle, lead etc... it would just wear him down and sides would be deliberately provoking him with 3-1 pushing tactics all the time.

My take on Cal's link of Shanahan to Richmond is that he and the recruiters he spoke top had said that they believed Richmond would go for a tall with their 4th pick and since Twomey had said that he believed that there was a chance that Armstrong was a chance to slide to Richmond's pick 18, he took a punt on the tall being Shanahan. Cal also mentioned that Jack Whitlock was around that range as well, with no mention of Faull.
If memory serves, twomey said it was likely they picked faull because they really liked him and believed that Sydney or gws were planning on taking him before their later picks. So they took him first to make sure they got him ahead of them

I can't see Shanahan playing more than a couple of games for the Eagles, and that's only if there are lots of injuries. Archer Reid is way ahead of him and he couldn't get a game this year. 203cm key forward. Remember the Eagles have talls Waterman, Allen, JWilliams and Maric in current team. JWilliams and Maric are highly talented kids. Archer Reid couldn't get a game and played all year at reserves. Bailey Williams may also become a forward ruck if Flynn is rucking. Shanahan can only play as a key defender if McGovern Bazzo H Edwards are out.
Maric is being reworked into a key back, he's been working with the defenders since preseason started, shanahan is also looking likely to be developed down there

Playing as a forward in Eagles reserves will be shocking as they will finish last easily. Already you have other 200cm plus ruck forward options playing, such as Archer Reid, Barnett and Livingstone. If I was Shanahan I'd want to play CHB where he can get plenty of the footy and be given a chance later in the year down back. Remember Bazzo McGovern Jamieson and Harry Edwards are all injury prone as tall defenders.

I also really think maric can do great there, not only is he a great mark, his disposal is elite. Could be really damaging as an intercepting 3rd tall launching attack chains from half back

mmm i'd prefer him wing. Eagles are too strong in small and mid sized defenders. Coach has committed to Hough Ginbey Baker for starters. Then Hunt Duggan and Cole are usually regulars. You only need 3 mid sized defenders and that's six straight off.

Bombers fans are keen on Kako, Gerreyn and Clarke. But I expect that only Kako and maybe Clarke will see first team minutes next year.

Why do you think Richmond weren't keen on Jobe Shanahan, Cal had him linked and tigs chose 3 forwards before he was picked up?
@@pd3929 it’s a really interesting question, my thought is that it was an either/or choice between Jobe and Harry. They’re pretty similar types whereas Jonty is more of a power fwd and Thomas Sims is a Ruck/fwd. think they just favoured Armstrong
My take on Cal's link of Shanahan to Richmond is that he and the recruiters he spoke top had said that they believed Richmond would go for a tall with their 4th pick and since Twomey had said that he believed that there was a chance that Armstrong was a chance to slide to Richmond's pick 18, he took a punt on the tall being Shanahan. Cal also mentioned that Jack Whitlock was around that range as well, with no mention of Faull.
If memory serves, twomey said it was likely they picked faull because they really liked him and believed that Sydney or gws were planning on taking him before their later picks. So they took him first to make sure they got him ahead of them
It’s ironic that everyone agrees that Richmond had an incredible draft but in all of these types of videos your tiptoe around them. Watch Smillie and Lalor dominate next year. I’ll be back to this comment.

I can't see Shanahan playing more than a couple of games for the Eagles, and that's only if there are lots of injuries. Archer Reid is way ahead of him and he couldn't get a game this year. 203cm key forward. Remember the Eagles have talls Waterman, Allen, JWilliams and Maric in current team. JWilliams and Maric are highly talented kids. Archer Reid couldn't get a game and played all year at reserves. Bailey Williams may also become a forward ruck if Flynn is rucking. Shanahan can only play as a key defender if McGovern Bazzo H Edwards are out.
Maric is being reworked into a key back, he's been working with the defenders since preseason started, shanahan is also looking likely to be developed down there
@@biggi3st3v3 I think the Eagles forward line is stacked with tall forwards already. Then as I said Archer Reid and Bailey Williams will be given a go as tall forwards.
Playing as a forward in Eagles reserves will be shocking as they will finish last easily. Already you have other 200cm plus ruck forward options playing, such as Archer Reid, Barnett and Livingstone. If I was Shanahan I'd want to play CHB where he can get plenty of the footy and be given a chance later in the year down back. Remember Bazzo McGovern Jamieson and Harry Edwards are all injury prone as tall defenders.
@@BDub2024 yeah, he even said as much in an interview I saw with him. He said he felt that when he was moved down back in the latter part of the year that he prob played his best football there. I also really think maric can do great there, not only is he a great mark, his disposal is elite. Could be really damaging as an intercepting 3rd tall launching attack chains from half back
@@biggi3st3v3 Maric is too slow for a wing really. But he could be a good utility for sure. He struggled up forward and to be a regular he needs to play multiple roles.
@@biggi3st3v3 playing in the forward line in the Eagles reserves is a tough ask with minimal opportunities and delivered poorly. I always reckon its good experience for any forwards to play in defence and there are some good WAFL forwards to learn from.

mmm i'd prefer him wing. Eagles are too strong in small and mid sized defenders. Coach has committed to Hough Ginbey Baker for starters. Then Hunt Duggan and Cole are usually regulars. You only need 3 mid sized defenders and that's six straight off.
