he won't take down the tree. that's his problem and we think it's why he was so angry when he couldn't cut through anymore. that said, he has plenty of room to go in and out his driveway. we can't figure out why he and his wife would move into a neighborhood where the homes are right next to one another. His home has neighbors just a few feet on either side. When some of the nice normal neighbors found out what this guy had been doing, they didn't even know who he was......that's how anti social he is.

Id be pulling the reverse psychology on him... His tree, your utility wires. So, an "aw, those branches give so much sade" turns into a whole half a tree cut down. If he moves to block, or cuts down something. Its always a "Thanks for helping out. Looks so much better and i dont have to do it!"

I stumbled upon your videos and have binge watched all of them. You certainly have more patience than I do. I don’t think if someone paid me a million dollars that I could live so closely to others. I’ve lived in the country all my life and as an adult I own 15 acres w the closet house about 400 yards away from me. The closet I get to them is when I leave from my very long driveway. Our property borders one another for about 100’. I can’t see them from my house nor can see any roads. I’m so used to being out here by ourselves it’s hard for us when we go on vacation and have to rent a condo or the like. I feel claustrophobic when I have to stay anywhere other than Home. I have to hand it to you as to how well you handled all this. You’re much nicer people than me. Not that I’m mean I just wouldn’t have put up with the shenanigans. Thanks for the entertainment for the last few hours!

I feel genuinely sad for you guys. We once had a neighbor trying shady stuff. I sat outside rain&shine day&night. I scared them pretty bad a few times sitting in the dark but they soon quit because they couldnt handle verbal a altercation. After years youd think hed quit. Good heaven...they need to move. Will wait to see what happens next. This is sadly addictive to watch.

If I had an access situation like that with a neighbor I would bend over backwards to make sure those neighbors liked me. This guy seems to have his wires crossed and does the least rational thing in every situation. It makes me wonder if he's had a stroke or something.
YES and the authorities have noticed(and stated) he causes his own problems and then responds inappropriately causing even more problems for himself......like when the breakaways had to be installed because of his own vandalism......he just didn't get that he caused it!! No stroke but personality disorder of some kind.
This partially answers my question (i.e, "Why?"), but what's the trigger? I imagine there's some underlying issue that's specific to you (and/or your family) because otherwise he wouldn't be able to hold a job or function in society. That is, he'd be institutionalized. Your thoughts?
sometimes very intelligent folks can perform their jobs just fine but have problem when dealing with others on a social level.....like Aspergers. But I've never seen the anger thing when I've witnessed this disorder.
Nest makes an fantastic outdoor camera, I would highly recommend upgrading. You can clip and save right to youtube too. Also my neighbor from hell recently passed away and life in our neighborhood has been so much better since. Watching your videos gives me PTSD lol. Godspeed.
I wish, being a stranger, that I could run into this mad man and get him talking about the whole situation. I can't even imagine what his take is on all the things that have happened over the years. He sure seems to be a worthy candidate for a chapter in an Abnormal psychology text book.
I actually had some words with he and wife after he appeared to nearly run me down in the driveway. It became apparent to me that he really believes we have done something to him. He was saying things which were so distorted.......his own perception which is not fact based. I don't even think he thinks he did anything wrong by ruining the sod.
Livin Surfside I have had run ins with someone that basically thought the same of me. It didn’t matter who told her or how many times she was told it was all her and that I hadn’t done anything wrong. Nothing mattered to her, except getting even with me. That’s probably why I watch these videos...kindred spirits you and I. I took the advice of a therapist and actually told the old bitty I was sorry, without knowing what I had actually done to start it all. Things cooled for a bit, but it didn’t last. So she really thought she had me because I had said sorry. Crazy loon. It did stop. She died. It was going to be the only way it ended, one of us was going to have to pass on. She had 40 years on me so the odds were in my favor. Her family came over after the funeral to ask why I hadn’t stopped by. I was floored to find out, that although she bitched about me constantly she also talked like we were friends. The things she had said just proved my point that she spent all her time snooping on me. Maybe me think she had gone crazy from loneliness or something like that. Strange neighbors!
Having just started watching these videos, I'd say that he's troubled and definitely a gigantic fuckhole, but not insane. "Insane" means he doesn't know right from wrong...that he's living in a parallel universe...and he seems too aware to have earned that title.

Yay shared access nightmares. We have something similar (but not nearly as bad) at our house. The houses are about 100 years old, and when one of the owners got a car about 80 years ago, they got permission and and easement onto our property to put in a driveway, on the condition that it’s shared. Unfortunately, one of my housemates has a mobility impairment (she can walk short distances). When the new owners moved in next door, we had worked out a deal where if they needed the driveway for something, we’d move our van… but then they began to not give it back. Now we’re in a gentle “grab the driveway” war that includes parking a non-primary vehicle in the driveway when we’re not home (so when we get back we can have the driveway so she can walk in from the van). But if they call to say they need the driveway for something specific (like a van they use to clear stuff since they’re doing repairs on the house), we will make sure it’s clear. (Street parking is horrible in this area. There’s only parking on one side of the road due to a highway, and the house on the other side is on the corner and has a business on the first floor and two apartment units, and the other side of our neighbors’ place is a small 4 unit house) so there’s only three street spots available for 8 living units.) At one point early on they put a bucket with a no parking sign in the middle of the driveway. That was followed up by a gentle “we have a copy of the deed that shows we have legal access to the driveway” reminder. The sign is now on their house. Then there was the couple of months they had bags of junk cleared out of their house on the grass on our between the two houses and right up against our house… But overall not nearly this level of shenanigans and harassment.
sounds like a similar situation with driveway deed though......good thing you have the document......although we think in our situation the driveway right of way is the catalyst for the NFH bad behavior. He bought the damn property and should have known about the shared drive but maybe his attorney didn't catch it and after he purchased, he found out. Now forever it will be a thorn in his side, so to speak!! The previous owner of our house said to make sure he doesn't block our right of way so we think the NFH gave him a hard time too.
If he purchased the property afterwards, he had to have known it was a shared driveway. No way a lawyer would have neglected to say anything. The real estate agent would have said something too. Lastly, IIRC, any variances would have come up on the title search as well. So if he ever tries to claim ignorance, that’s pure and utter bullshit. He had to be planning from early on to bully the hell out of that property’s owner to get what he wanted.
My daughter says you need to add a caption that says "wiggle wiggle wiggle" while he's cutting your tree down. We were watching this together and she said it as he was doing it and we both just dropped laughing hard!! I know it's not funny what he's doing but, adding a little humor made it awsome lol Good luck with your battle

At this point pissing him off as much as possible would be great. I'd have solid concrete barriers with a wood faced inside installed, so it looks good to me. But he would have to stare at blank concrete all day. A nice little courtyard with a gated driveway.

was so funny, when we first took ownership of this place, the NFH daughter would park in the end of the street, blocking anyone trying to get to the private property at the end of the road as well as the driveway.....they made every attempt to block our deeded right to pass through the driveway until he decided to park his truck across from our driveway, thinking he was affecting our access in and out. Now he lies and says he has to park it there because he can't put it in his driveway because of our DEEDED RIGHT OF WAY......he is so entangled in his own lies at this point. Best wishes!
I just finished watching every one of these 1 through whatever number this is. It amazes me how people can behave like this, hold onto grudges and angst, be so steadfast in their stubbornness and foolishness. But mostly I'm just happy not to live on this street. It reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode, "The Monsters are out on Maple Street". Best wishes. Looking forward to more baffling moments.

Moving would give him satisfaction. But our time, we only get so much time here and to have to live through this stuff is not worth it. If you have children, or will have children, I would be so scared knowing such a malicious person is so close. Especially when they get to the age of being able to walk outside to play on their own. Move, be happier without all that stress and misery. "Misery loves company". And go on with your life away from him, to me being away from that misery would make me happier. I have a feeling that no matter who lives in the house you are in, he will do the same. There is some reason he has so much anger. Move, let him be, go on, be happier. Fighting this battle is not worth it.
Actually, I think the NFH was giving notice to the tree to move or be removed. The tree can't claim ignorance of the law because the law doesn't recognise ignorance as a defense, so by default, the tree is guilty :p
Can you imagine the time, effort and thought these NFH people have put into the acts we have seen carried out in these video's? Every part of their life must revolve around trying to give "Livin Surfside" a hard time, but they just come across as the perfect "live entertainment" automaton.
He is even able to make sawing a limb look creepy. By the way....have you ever heard a wood chipper running at his house? I mean, ever think that maybe he is spreading more than leaves and trash around. No doubt this guy has it in him to set someones house on fire, etc. I think you and everyone in authority as well are underestimating the capabilities of this man. He should not be passed off as simply being nuts. His home and property should be thoroughly checked for any hidden rooms, etc. You should add 'yet' to what you may think about this guy, meaning, 'He hasn't harmed you'-------yet.

He has a nice boat. I think we saw him take it out shortly after one of his nasty acts against us. vandalize, boat ride, go to church, dinner with the family etc etc.......one is the same as the other.
Solution: Offer to buy the garage from him and the property it is on. (Though, he'll likely reject any offer just to spite you; I would not be surprised if he and his clan have mental and/or emotional issues.) Perhaps purchasing the garage would increase the value of your own home. You could seed your current driveway--widening your front lawn--and use his current driveway/garage as your own. Your property value would likely go up, and you would rid your family of a hassle! DOD top secret clearance? That must rake in some good money; make him an offer he can't refuse... sorta speak. :O)

I lost it once when I was raking leaves around our house and was in his driveway(also raking his leaves) with the trashcan loading leaves. He came flying around the corner into his driveway(we have a deeded right to use his driveway)and nearly hit me. It was intentional because he had seen me working there that day and stopped when he saw me, then floored it straight at me, swerving at the last minute. I went to his house and blasted his wife and finally him when he dared to show his face. Their responses made it abundantly clear I wasn't dealing with normal people. I had to remind the wife that if he'd hit me, I'd own their house! We sold the house late last year but not because of the idiots that surrounded it. They became laughable characters. I stumbled upon your videos and have binge watched all of them. You certainly have more patience than I do. I don’t think if someone paid me a million dollars that I could live so closely to others. I’ve lived in the country all my life and as an adult I own 15 acres w the closet house about 400 yards away from me. The closet I get to them is when I leave from my very long driveway. Our property borders one another for about 100’. I can’t see them from my house nor can see any roads.
I’m so used to being out here by ourselves it’s hard for us when we go on vacation and have to rent a condo or the like.
I feel claustrophobic when I have to stay anywhere other than Home.
I have to hand it to you as to how well you handled all this. You’re much nicer people than me. Not that I’m mean I just wouldn’t have put up with the shenanigans.

I feel genuinely sad for you guys. We once had a neighbor trying shady stuff. I sat outside rain&shine day&night. I scared them pretty bad a few times sitting in the dark but they soon quit because they couldnt handle verbal a altercation. After years youd think hed quit. Good heaven...they need to move. Will wait to see what happens next. This is sadly addictive to watch.

If I had an access situation like that with a neighbor I would bend over backwards to make sure those neighbors liked me. This guy seems to have his wires crossed and does the least rational thing in every situation. It makes me wonder if he's had a stroke or something.
YES and the authorities have noticed(and stated) he causes his own problems and then responds inappropriately causing even more problems for himself......like when the breakaways had to be installed because of his own vandalism......he just didn't get that he caused it!! No stroke but personality disorder of some kind.
This partially answers my question (i.e, "Why?"), but what's the trigger? I imagine there's some underlying issue that's specific to you (and/or your family) because otherwise he wouldn't be able to hold a job or function in society. That is, he'd be institutionalized. Your thoughts?
sometimes very intelligent folks can perform their jobs just fine but have problem when dealing with others on a social level.....like Aspergers. But I've never seen the anger thing when I've witnessed this disorder.

I wish, being a stranger, that I could run into this mad man and get him talking about the whole situation. I can't even imagine what his take is on all the things that have happened over the years. He sure seems to be a worthy candidate for a chapter in an Abnormal psychology text book.
I actually had some words with he and wife after he appeared to nearly run me down in the driveway. It became apparent to me that he really believes we have done something to him. He was saying things which were so distorted.......his own perception which is not fact based. I don't even think he thinks he did anything wrong by ruining the sod.
Livin Surfside I have had run ins with someone that basically thought the same of me. It didn’t matter who told her or how many times she was told it was all her and that I hadn’t done anything wrong. Nothing mattered to her, except getting even with me. That’s probably why I watch these videos...kindred spirits you and I.
I took the advice of a therapist and actually told the old bitty I was sorry, without knowing what I had actually done to start it all. Things cooled for a bit, but it didn’t last. So she really thought she had me because I had said sorry. Crazy loon. It did stop. She died. It was going to be the only way it ended, one of us was going to have to pass on. She had 40 years on me so the odds were in my favor. Her family came over after the funeral to ask why I hadn’t stopped by. I was floored to find out, that although she bitched about me constantly she also talked like we were friends. The things she had said just proved my point that she spent all her time snooping on me. Maybe me think she had gone crazy from loneliness or something like that. Strange neighbors!

Having just started watching these videos, I'd say that he's troubled and definitely a gigantic fuckhole, but not insane. "Insane" means he doesn't know right from wrong...that he's living in a parallel universe...and he seems too aware to have earned that title.

We have something similar (but not nearly as bad) at our house. The houses are about 100 years old, and when one of the owners got a car about 80 years ago, they got permission and and easement onto our property to put in a driveway, on the condition that it’s shared. Unfortunately, one of my housemates has a mobility impairment (she can walk short distances). When the new owners moved in next door, we had worked out a deal where if they needed the driveway for something, we’d move our van… but then they began to not give it back. Now we’re in a gentle “grab the driveway” war that includes parking a non-primary vehicle in the driveway when we’re not home (so when we get back we can have the driveway so she can walk in from the van). But if they call to say they need the driveway for something specific (like a van they use to clear stuff since they’re doing repairs on the house), we will make sure it’s clear.
(Street parking is horrible in this area. There’s only parking on one side of the road due to a highway, and the house on the other side is on the corner and has a business on the first floor and two apartment units, and the other side of our neighbors’ place is a small 4 unit house) so there’s only three street spots available for 8 living units.)
At one point early on they put a bucket with a no parking sign in the middle of the driveway. That was followed up by a gentle “we have a copy of the deed that shows we have legal access to the driveway” reminder. The sign is now on their house. Then there was the couple of months they had bags of junk cleared out of their house on the grass on our between the two houses and right up against our house…
But overall not nearly this level of shenanigans and harassment.
sounds like a similar situation with driveway deed though......good thing you have the document......although we think in our situation the driveway right of way is the catalyst for the NFH bad behavior. He bought the damn property and should have known about the shared drive but maybe his attorney didn't catch it and after he purchased, he found out. Now forever it will be a thorn in his side, so to speak!! The previous owner of our house said to make sure he doesn't block our right of way so we think the NFH gave him a hard time too.
If he purchased the property afterwards, he had to have known it was a shared driveway. No way a lawyer would have neglected to say anything. The real estate agent would have said something too.
Lastly, IIRC, any variances would have come up on the title search as well.
So if he ever tries to claim ignorance, that’s pure and utter bullshit. He had to be planning from early on to bully the hell out of that property’s owner to get what he wanted.

was so funny, when we first took ownership of this place, the NFH daughter would park in the end of the street, blocking anyone trying to get to the private property at the end of the road as well as the driveway.....they made every attempt to block our deeded right to pass through the driveway until he decided to park his truck across from our driveway, thinking he was affecting our access in and out. Now he lies and says he has to park it there because he can't put it in his driveway because of our DEEDED RIGHT OF WAY......he is so entangled in his own lies at this point. Best wishes!

I just finished watching every one of these 1 through whatever number this is. It amazes me how people can behave like this, hold onto grudges and angst, be so steadfast in their stubbornness and foolishness. But mostly I'm just happy not to live on this street. I would just offer him 3 times the value of that garage and driveway, buy it and end the nightmare forever.
Moving would give him satisfaction. But our time, we only get so much time here and to have to live through this stuff is not worth it. If you have children, or will have children, I would be so scared knowing such a malicious person is so close. Especially when they get to the age of being able to walk outside to play on their own. Move, be happier without all that stress and misery. "Misery loves company". And go on with your life away from him, to me being away from that misery would make me happier. I have a feeling that no matter who lives in the house you are in, he will do the same. There is some reason he has so much anger. Move, let him be, go on, be happier. Fighting this battle is not worth it.

Actually, I think the NFH was giving notice to the tree to move or be removed. The tree can't claim ignorance of the law because the law doesn't recognise ignorance as a defense, so by default, the tree is guilty :p
Can you imagine the time, effort and thought these NFH people have put into the acts we have seen carried out in these video's?
Every part of their life must revolve around trying to give "Livin Surfside" a hard time, but they just come across as the perfect "live entertainment" automaton.
He is even able to make sawing a limb look creepy. By the way....have you ever heard a wood chipper running at his house? I mean, ever think that maybe he is spreading more than leaves and trash around. No doubt this guy has it in him to set someones house on fire, etc. I think you and everyone in authority as well are underestimating the capabilities of this man. He should not be passed off as simply being nuts. His home and property should be thoroughly checked for any hidden rooms, etc. You should add 'yet' to what you may think about this guy, meaning, 'He hasn't harmed you'-------yet.

Solution: Offer to buy the garage from him and the property it is on. (Though, he'll likely reject any offer just to spite you; I would not be surprised if he and his clan have mental and/or emotional issues.) Perhaps purchasing the garage would increase the value of your own home. You could seed your current driveway--widening your front lawn--and use his current driveway/garage as your own. Your property value would likely go up, and you would rid your family of a hassle! DOD top secret clearance? That must rake in some good money; make him an offer he can't refuse... sorta speak. :O)
If anything else, you got to admire his perseverance. This s**t has been going for years now.

I lost it once when I was raking leaves around our house and was in his driveway(also raking his leaves) with the trashcan loading leaves. He came flying around the corner into his driveway(we have a deeded right to use his driveway)and nearly hit me. It was intentional because he had seen me working there that day and stopped when he saw me, then floored it straight at me, swerving at the last minute. I went to his house and blasted his wife and finally him when he dared to show his face. Their responses made it abundantly clear I wasn't dealing with normal people. I had to remind the wife that if he'd hit me, I'd own their house! We sold the house late last year but not because of the idiots that surrounded it. They became laughable characters.
