You sure did a thorough run on this. Found few things which was unknown to me earlier like the temperature testing. Really loved this one. Pls do keep such ones coming. Keep at it mate \m/
This is a great video, taught me a lot. While others just mention the level of rating, you took the time to take us through what it means. Also, fun narration!
Thank you. Please continue watching and sharing these types of videos (not necessarily mine but any good, sensible content). All UA-cam seems to be pushing is clickbait at the moment and the good content gets lost somewhere.
I believe the fit of the Jacket is paramount, even if a jacket is with level 2 armour and does not fit well, it will not serve the purpose! Always best to try a jacket locally than going for a well known brand and not trying at all. I for example, as per the Rynox website, should fit in a small size, however when I try it on, I need a medium! That's the best available locally and that is what I will have to settle for the time being. Cheers for the awesome information through your channel
Awesome video brother! Very informative. Could please make a video on the brands whose motorcycling riding gear we should avoid buying and also the one preferred. Thank you 😊 . Be safe

Hi Oggy F! Nice and informational video about the CE-marking. About Rynox that you reefer to in the video Cant find any information if their clothes follow any standard. According to their website they use 1680D material in their clothes and talking about that 2000D might not be knitted properly in other fabrics. Why should we believe that their 1680D is knitted properly. They do refer to other professional manufacturers products (CE EN 1621-1 approved) aka protection that they use in their products, and that's alright. But they fail to provide information about if their own fabrics material used in their own clothing. The European Standard, EN 13595:2002, covers protective clothing for professional motorcyclists, whereas proposed new European Standard, prEN 17092, is for clothing used by non-professional riders; for example, for commuting and leisure use. The two standards will operate alongside each other until at least 2023. I think this is mandatory to check out when buying mc-clothes, especially when they are made by unknown makers.
I usually stay away from recommending riding gear because it largely depends on the way it fits which would be different for different riders. What I could do is share details about material to look for and features and so on.
This is a very good information to understand the armor before purchasing a new and for many their first riding jacket. Thanks for sharing. Can you please review for few of the rynox jackets.?
Ok accidentally closed the premier! Will dm on insta. Have a great day Oggy. Simple, calm and contented videos! Even when dissing the chapris! 😂 "Love you all guys, love you all, come on" 😝
Very informative video oggy.. nicely done.. could you please do a similar video on helmets please?? Because most beginner riders are only aware of Indian manufactured helmets
Bought an alpinestar jacket online and then the sleeves are too long that the elbow protectors are not on the right place but then the length from chest to stomach fits perfectly fine.
@@OggyF I really need your help. I want to put on an exhaust to make my gt 650 little louder(not too loud at all, just a little bit) so recently i settled on AEW T102 exhaust with 28mm baffles which makes the bike little bassy and not obnoxiously loud . But recently I have been told that changing stock mufflers to a straight through muffler will harm or hurt engine in the long run, and if I wanted to put AEW(they are straight through muffler) I will have to put new ECU and Free flow filter for it so that the fueling is not affected and engine is not affected in terms. Is it true, or is it only a myth, please advise. P.S. Also Catalytic converter is in the main pipe so PUC still applies.
I usually stay away from recommending brands because the fit is the most important aspect to consider. However, I've used and own Rynox riding jackets and they have a considerable amount of adjustment and offer Knox armor inserts too.
Very important and informative video sir 👍 Thanks a lot 🙏 please please make a detail video on riding gears and some recommendations like for gloves and boots as there is no much information about it in India 🙏
Superb explanation. very well researched. A big thank you for the quality content! and yes, please make a separate video regarding fit. should one be looking at custom riding gear in case the fit isn't right? I heard Solace offers custom riding jackets in India but I have not come across any feedback regarding the fit and reliability of any custom jackets from Solace.
So all EN1621-1:2012 EN1621-2:2014 EN1621-3:2018 have L1 & L2 for each of them? Just that in each of them the amount of force transferred through them is less. Also certain level of armour is enough for different parts of the body. Did I understand it right?
@@OggyF I mean for the shoulder and the elbows required level of protection is L1 but if you wanted you could upgrade to L2 whereas for chest and back the minimum required protection is L2. Knox or d3o is upto us but nothing less than L2.
Hey Bharath. CE2 is the highest standard but CE1 is also updated for the chest in 2018. The force transferred is about the CE level itself. CE2 is better, nevertheless. About the parts of the body, see the armour marking for limbs. (1621:1) for example - S/E stands for Shoulder/ELBOW and so on we have S/E/K. Just let me know if there are more questions.
You're welcome.Unfortunately I've not owned any of those brands yet, But you could dop the GT House (on IG) a DM and Kaustubh and the guys should be able to help you. They sell both brands.

Checked out Alphinestars, Rev It since I want something lightweight but couldn't find any details regarding which version of armor any had. If you could make a second video on this topic, it would really help us out. Again, thanks for creating videos and being you. :)
Yeah it takes a bit of digging to finally find the information through their websites and owners manuals. Just finishing up a few motorcycle reviews and will then put together a video on the jackets. Thanks for the support and encouragement :). Ride safe.
I wish this video had simplified the level of protection provided by CE1 and CE2 in case of a crash in terms of speed at which the crash protection comes into play. Force in kilonewtons won’t mean anything to most people including the person who made this video! So please publish another video giving real world information instead of kilonewton forces, joules or temperatures in Kelvin scale. Thank you
I didn't know all the information before buying but After your video i went to rynox website they are using 2014 standard. In air gt ( level 2) and in their higher range jacket it is not mentioned.
