It's this scene that really made me realize how good Sidious was. That he wasn't just making devious plans on the side but can also really show how much of a dark lord he really is
*meanwhile back on Coruscant* Chancellor Palpatine's Officer Secretary: "Man, the Chancellor sure goes on a whole lot of vacations. This system and that one. Must be nice!"
The sad thing is, Palpatine actually deserves those vacations. The man runs a galaxy-spanning government, and controls the tides of a war on both sides.
After Savage died Maul was filled with Hate and Sorrow, he is a Master of Form VII Juyo which involves channelling your hatred to make your strikes much more powerful than a normal combatant. So at this point he became almost equal to Sidious’s Saber skills because at that moment we can see that Sidious is not toying around anymore and realises Maul is actually a threat now. So he quickly disarms and uses the force to overpower Maul.
Fun fact: Palpatine has no formal lightsaber training. He just swings randomly and lets the Dark Side of the Force guide his actions. It's a testament to his powers in the Dark Side that what should be clumsy swings are strong and graceful enough to overpower most Jedi masters.

I love that Savage was totally oblivious as to who this old man was. Also, the sheer physical force of Palpatine's strikes are astounding. Multiple Jedi would kick at Savage, and even with Obi-Wan, it took multiple kicks to hobble Savage. Just one kick from Palpatine is enough to stun Savage.
Force users multiply their physical strength and resilience greatly with the force. Palpatine is a little old man but can effortlessly overpower a hulking brute like Savage, which puts in perspective how much darkside power Sidious has.
Compared to the average Jedi, Maul and Savage are menacing. But as soon as Palpatine enters the room they look like two children trying to appease their angry father. 😯
It all makes sense for Palpatine to get his hands dirty in this moment. With his rise to power building, the Clone Wars spreading across the galaxy like fire, his grip tightened on the Senate, and massive casualties of Republic, Separatists, Mandalorians, and Jedi, all that remained was to tie up loose ends.
+Erik “ThePhantom” Destler Maul planned to use the shadow collective against both the republic and CIS. Maul's criminal empire was a threat to Palpatine's orchestrated clone wars. ..
Well let's not forget, Sidious was toying with Savage and Maul here. The Jedi, he knew the jig was up so he couldn't afford to hold back for the sake of amusement.
2:25 underrated moment when Sidious just stands there and happily lets Maul jump down to his dying brother as a way of saying _"yes..... that's it. let the shear magnitude of how fucked you are slowly sink in."_
The interesting thing is that Sidious/Palpatine wasn't even very fond of using a lightsaber. He and his master before him considered themselves to be above the "petty" use of mere weapons, instead focusing their efforts on the complete manipulation of the Force. And yet the still brushed two of the most proficient lightsaber users aside like they were nothing. Maul was a formidable Form VII user and Savage, while lacking form and finess, could wreck most opponents with brute force. Sidious could've vaporized them instantly with Force Lightning if he had wanted to end the fight quickly. But often the hunt is more intense than the kill.
I've always liked seeing The Senate using his lightsabers while he laughs maniacally. It makes him more of a devil than the Sith he already is. But yes you are correct, he and and his master Plagueis considered lightsaber duels as a mere charade in order to insult the Jedi over their reverence to the art. They both believed that pure mastery of the dark side of the Force is a true testament to a Sith's power. Here the Senate was playing with his old apprentice and a mere monster. An apprentice who failed him full of rage and anger towards the very Jedi who made him half the man he was back on Naboo and a mere monster whose own anger for his brother's current status only adds to the fuel of anger the other has for the Senate. He wants to play with their rage and anger, and yes he was entertained indeed. Them releasing their anger towards the Senate fuels his power and trickery over them, it's like an orgasm to him seeing these two mere idiots lashing out while he feeds off that negative energy. (Okay that orgasm thing is just an awful reference and Maul is no idiot, sorry.)
For those of you who don’t realize how insane this scene is, Savage Opress at full power WRECKED both Obiwan and Anakin, and Palpatine wiped the floor with Savage.
@@darthdistortion1934 Sidious’ levels of forced based physical augmentation are genuinely beyond the levels of the overwhelming majority of force sensitives. Really only Yoda, Mace Windu, and Legends Luke Skywalker can contend with it.
I honestly think that was just for the plot though, Anakin at this point would only really lose to Dooku, but to keep everything interesting they balance it out enough to be an actual fight. The problem with Justice League, Superman shows up and is so powerful none of the other League members matter. So I'm glad they did it but lore wise I don't think Savage beats Anakin and Obi wan.
I see your logic, but think there is somewhat of a flaw in it. True, that while embracing his raw emotions Savage overcame Anakin and Obi Wan but they were up against an unknown force and probably caught off guard. Remember Obi Wan managed to defeat Savage later while also fending off Maul. Obviously that doesn't take away from the central point Papa Palps is busted
This is easily one of my favorite fights. Just shows how powerful Sidious is with a lightsaber and how beautiful his technique is. At the same time, it shows that he at any moment could put the blades down and end the fight in an instant with his mastery of the force.
I bet Sidious even rival anime characters too of swords. Even they be in the toughest battle of their lives against Sidious deadly swordplay and speed. Sidious is extremely experienced in all forms of swordplay.
What I don't think people understand in this scene is why Maul was begging for mercy; or rather, what kind of mercy he wanted. From the start of his life, Maul was trained as a Sith by Sidious, and having read some of the novels about that time, I realize what he went through. He knew that rather than killing him, Sidious would probably put Maul through the worst of tortures like he used to, so the "mercy" that Maul is begging for here, is death. All that aside, this is a truly epic lightsaber duel, but I think that Maul (and to a lesser extent Savage) knew they wouldn't be able to even scratch Sidious.
Well said; although as for not 'scratching' him Savage knocked Sidious off the platform and Maul kicks Sidious in the chest. Other than that, yep, Sheev totally outclassed them.
What i really like abt this battle is how sidios actually gets serious when maul pull the black saber, he knew that maul was pissed and wasn't even cackling meanwhile
You know you are dealing with the cruelist and most twisted being in Star Wars universe when begging for "mercy" has only meaning, quick, almost painless death.
@@flashyk2430 I'm actually at a loss for words right now. Palpatine was/is literally the most powerful force user in the history of star wars, I really dont know how you can think Maul can beat Sidious😂
1:08 u can rlly see how scared Maul is when he chooses to use Soresu, the most defensive lightsaber form (the form Kenobi uses often) instead of his preferred Juyo (7th form, most in tuned with the dark side malice and rage) against Sidious
@@Alex_Fishman Windu can't stand against Palpatine in a direct force duel just like Yoda could not either , He also beat Palpatine in a lightsaber duel and could not do much against him when he only used the force
@@davidkosiba624 Of course Windu would lose against Palps if both used force only, I am talking about Vaapad itself, which is a pretty op form, even though Windu did not teach it to everyone due to it having a chance of making you go to the Dark side, because you must enjoy the fight itself. And, it would have been very unexpected from one of brothers to see pull out one of those, and it would have made the fight at least a bit more fair, as it was a lightsaber-based one.
The way Palpatine can compose himself midair after being hit and then proceed to force pull both Maul and Savage off the ledge with him is always a reminder of what Star Wars can be
sidious is just toying with them here you can see how much he is enjoying himself simple fact is he could of fried them both as soon as he walked through the door
Can you blame him? It's good to let loose after pretending to be someone you aren't for years on end, and having to be surrounded by a bunch of people you despise. Palps is just letting his hair down for a bit.
For someone watching star wars chronologically, this is the first time you ever see Palpatine actually fight, or even hold a lightsaber. That would be an incredible experience xD
I think maul knew from the get go, once he sensed sidious, they were fucked. Of every living person in the galaxy, maul would have "known" palpatine the best, being at his side for so many years, "learning" from him. People say that this scene isn't maul that maul would never beg for mercy etc. But what they don't understand is that maul feared one thing more then death itself, and that was sidious. He KNEW how powerful sidious was, he lived it every day of his life. Sidious at this point was the most powerful force wielding individual ever. Even surpassing Yoda. Yoda himself admits in the novel that had he continued their duel he could not have won, that's why he retreated. This is also why yearly later he warns Luke, not to underestimate the power of the emporer. You don't fuck with sidious.
+MrKevin486 SIdious wasn't the most powerful force wielder ever, but he was the most powerful for his time. Anakin would have surpassed him eventually...if he hadn't become Vader. Losing so much of his body lowered Anakin's potential greatly.
I really do love this fight. Even as a Sith, Sidious so often has to be cold, calculating, never letting his own desires and feelings get in the way of the greater plan. So for him to be able to just... cut loose, and enjoy the moment like this is a rare opportunity, and it's a side of him we never see to such an extent prior or since.
*Basically this fight:* Maul: "Well I feel great today. Just took over Mandalore. Killed Kenobi's girl and made him watch. I also got this sweet new sword. Life is good." Palpatine enters: "I noticed you were in a good mood today. Let me knock you down a peg."
Maul lasted longer than The So called "Sword Masters"Fisto, Kolar and Tinn. All were considered exceptional duelist's and Sidious beat the Shit outta them. Maul lasted almost as long as Windu and Yoda... Maul is a beast.
+TheFly212 True. But then again Sidious was toying with them both the whole time in this fight. Nevertheless Maul is still better at dueling the Emperor as opposed to the Masters Sidious cut down in Ep3
Keep in mind that those three were post-Ruusan Jedi, and as such, never had to face a Sith Lord before the Clone Wars. Compare to Maul, a Form VII specialist who probably sparred with Sidious (with live blades) every day before his defeat, plus who's been in several duels since then, it's really no contest.
Plus, I've heard that Sidious used Force scream in that fight, which is supposed to stun opponents or something. That's the weird scream we hear in the beginning.
+TheFly212 He wasn't really trying when fighting Maul, Maul only started to get a slight advantage (if you could even call it that) when Sidious killed his brother fueling Mauls anger. Also it's implied that he threw the fight against Windu to turn Anakin, he used his true power to quickly take out the other masters then prolonged the duel with Windu for his plan. (If you watch the fight there's even a moment when Sidious could've killed Windu and WIndu himself realizes it and starts backing up)
Honestly Maul fought exceptionally well and showed he is a true master of the sword. To compete with Sidious in any aspect is a huge feat. Look at how Sidious easily killed Jedi Master Kit Fisto and 2 others when confronted. Sidious is just insanely more powerful than him with the force.
@Sun Wu-Entai 90 That's the point. Sideous was that strong and he STILL wasn't serious. As you saw, the moment Sidious got bored and used the force the fight ended, the duel was just exercise. Sidious was so unmatched with the dark side only a master jedi could resist more than a few seconds.
@MC Cooper I'm pretty sure throughout the entire fight sidious was just playing with them. Near the end, he wasn't really trying much until Maul started to physically overpower a Sidious who wasn't even trying that hard. Then we see sidious easily physically overpower him and just stomp on him with the force.
Sidious said while electronic Maul, "I have other uses for you." He means he'll use Maul as bait to lure Mother Talzin, his real mother, to end her once and for all and destroy Maul's future forever.
CallionDisney Hediger Once Clone Wars Season 7 is released, I’d recommend having the comic series, Son of Dathomir, on your side, since they’re obviously using references of that story in the ‘Siege of Mandalore’.
I seriously cannot believe that there are still fans out there who think that Maul and Savage could even scratch Sidious. Palpatine was the strongest Star Wars character in canon and in EU he was even stronger. Even if they had hundreds of years to get ready to fight with Palpatine they would STILL lose. There is no way they could ever reach his power because he was that strong. He was literally one with the Dark Side of the force. A real monster.
I love how rage anger and pain fueled Maul and fight between them went wild afterwards. Even Maul momentarily overpowered Sidious at 3:29. Even though Sidious is a better dualist he did not want to risk aynthing and use Force to finish him off
@@cucumberwater6 Well I'd say he held his own against Sidious's CASUAL saber skills....I figured that it would be too much of a pain to keep going and shift to competitive to end the fight....if he did he'd probably kill maul by accident.
Sidious found lightsaber fights tedious, and engaged with Maul and Savage to have fun. At this point he was tired of fighting "their game," and finished Maul with his overwhelming power in the Force.
@@jackalsmalls4995 Sidious was actually trying in lightsaber combat ever since he killed Savage. If you look at 3:26, you can see how mad Sidious gets when Maul lands a kick on him
I think the Darksaber in the right hands is much stronger than any other lightsaber, it overpowered 2 expertly made sabers and forced Sidious to the ground
You notice Sidious' sabers' activation sounds at the start of the fight? The one in his right hand uses the same sound it did in ROTS when he fought Windu, and the one in his left hand used the one when he activated it against Yoda. It's implied he was using his spare against Yoda since his primary saber fell out the window during his fight with Windu. I love little details like this.
One of the coolest fights ever in Clone Wars. To put it into perspective, Maul and Savage DOMINATED almost EVERYONE they went up against... and even when fighting Palpatine, they managed to get two headbutts/hits in and STILL lost. As Qui Gon once said, "There's always a bigger fish." Overall it REALLY puts into perspective that not only was Palpatine playing chess with himself during The Clone Wars, manipulating and playing games for each side, but was also EXTREMELY strong in the force and made this fight seem like childs play, going up against some of the strongest sith in that time.
1:53: Love that shot of him wincing as he falls on his ankle wrong. It implies Sideous only ended the fight after because he caught himself getting overconfident, decides he's not having fun anymore, and ends it there.
@Captain happy No, it's accurate. This is basically Sidious's version of relaxation. He's getting warmed up just in case he has to actually fight some Jedi when the time finally comes. He could've just sent Dooku to handle Maul and Savage (and Dooku certainly could've done it). Instead, Sidious wanted to have some fun, get in some practice and so on. Maul and Savage were completely helpless throughout the entire 'duel', and Maul knew it.
Palpatine is one of those villain that you don’t even feel a single ounce of pity for when he dies. He might very well be one of the most evil villains in all of cinema.
Holy shit, I didn't think of that! And he would have known that's what Maul did too, since he was briefed on the fight. Talk about adding insult to injury.
@@nathancruz9172 I know satine death was horrifying but mall has been kidnapped by Sidious ever since he was young I don't feel bad for him for killing satine but I feel bad for him for suffering under these years friom sidious regin sidious's rain
Darth Sidious was on an entirely different level from the other players in the Prequels. There are few people who can survive a fight with him for more than a couple minutes, the few being Yoda, perhaps Anakin, and Mace Windu. Dooku would lose concentration when fighting against a being he has described as a "void in the force", so I don't think he would last long. The reason Mace Windu was able to match Sidious and in fact beat him (although it is very possible that Sidious threw the fight in order to turn Anakin to the dark side) is because his special dueling style of Vapaad allowed him to channel Sidious's own dark side energies through him. This is a great fight by the way, showing how Sidious could manhandle Maul (who at this point could defeat a decent chunk of the Jedi Masters in 1v1s) and Savage Oppress, who he was able to match not only in dueling capabilities (which isn't very impressive) but in fact Strength (1:17, Sidious shows no weakness and in fact confidence after Oppress jumps and brings down his full strength with a Lightsaber strike).
Yoda is slightly weaker than Sidious I think. Mace Windu can defeat Sidious due to using Vaapad (since we all know Sidious is HUGELY immerssed in the Dark Side, think of how much that could fuel Vaapad), and for Anakin, it depends. If it's his ROTS self or his Darth Vader suit self, then definetly not (him with the Vader suit on is only 8/10 of Sidious' power, not to mention his weakness to Force Lightning), although if Anakin would have ever reached his full potential, he'd mop the floor with Sidious (it's confirmed that Anakin in his full prime would have been 2 times stronger than Sidious). Luke also can potentially beat Sidious, due to being Anakin's son. he hasn't reached his full potential in ROTJ, but it's safe to assume that if he would (which he did in Legends), he would be able to at least keep up with Sidious.
A lot of people seem to fail to realise, if Vaapad really let Windu win, then Maul should've won here. Maul used Juyo at the end of the fight, while Mace uses Vaapad, both of which are actually Form VII. It's true Sidious decided to stop toying with him when he put away his saber, but he still crushed him nonetheless It also shows that even if Mace did legitimately disarm Sidious, Sidious could've still fought through the Force, since he dislikes Lightsaber combat in general
Darth Maul usually fights in Form VII, which is based on pure aggression and relies on precise, seemingly-random strikes to keep the enemy from predicting his moves. Against most Jedi, this style is effective as few are even aware of its existence. The fact that Maul switches to Form III, a mostly defensive style focused on blocking and attaco redirection, is a sign that he knows he can't overpower Sidious and is just trying to buy himself time.
Maul was trained in all 7 forms, but only mastered the 7th and 6th, and he knows he cant overpower Sidious, so he plays a defensive style hoping for a mistake in his master's attack.
Lmao no he didn't. Sidious could dodge his attacks without even igniting his lightsaber. All Savage had was strength, physically, not with the force or lightsaber combat because he sucked at both.
+LiquidScore A force choke is nothing. He may have been force sensitive but he needed better training, maybe he could have gotten even more powerful than maul if he had been trained by someone like Yoda or Sidious. But Savage's technique with the lightsaber was awful.
+LiquidScore Yes, he was powerful physically. But his technique with a lightsaber was horrible, I bet a Jedi youngling could've done it better. Many times Savage is seen using it like a javelin (like at 2:01). And he puts too much wasted strength in his swings (like at 2:02 to 2:07). And because of that, he becomes tired, which is seen at 2:09 until he got impaled. You can here him grunting and panting when Sidious unleashed an onslaught of attacks. Clearly he is not skilled in lightsaber combat. And not so much in Force usage either. Also, Force choke and push/pull is easy. So Savage could've clearly been better.
+Gabriel Lago You should take a look at just how deftly he parried Adi Gallia's attacks during their duel. The way he opened her up for that force shove was eerily graceful. For a brute, he had quite a bit of precision, and, really, fighting Sidious is like going against Superman. You might be a better fighter, but Sidious is so powerful in the Force, it doesn't matter. He just amps himself up to be so much stronger and faster than you that it doesn't matter what you bring to bear. You'll be cut down. He looks like a klutz against Sidious but he's not as unrefined as people say he is, he was just largely outclassed because his training was inadequate. Despite that he handled himself well during his brief stint in the Clone Wars. What I will give Savage credit for is meeting his end like a warrior. He stared into the eyes of the most powerful Sith Lord to ever exist, he was getting manhandled, and what did he do? He took straight to his feet and charged right back into the battle at the first chance because he was fighting for his brother. Absolutely no hesitation. He stared into the face of death and spat in it... then was summarily cut down. Poor guy.
DarkmourneTheFlayer He killed Adi Galia because of 2 reasons. 1: He was a 100 times stronger than her physically, and 2: her kick to his knee failed and he got her off guard. He was just a brute who could handle a lightsaber like a padawan. Savage was never stronger than Sidious in force or in lightsaber combat, he actually died quite fast and easy. Just shows that the force doesn't care how strong you are physically. Also, how could you feel bad for him and call him “poor"? He and Maul literally killed children and villagers to get Obi Wan's attention, they took over a terrorist group and a fucking planet, and Savage killed more than 5 jedi at least (Adi, the two Jedi Dooku sent him to kill as a test, and the jedi in the village in the holograms). He was a monster, an awful duelist who took his physical strength as an advantage to win against real duelists like Dooku and Obi Wan, and deserved to be killed the way he did, helpless and knowing he failed.
What you have to remember about Sidious is that no matter how powerful in the Force he was, he never became so arrogant or so prideful to not carry a lightsaber somewhere under those robes. He always had a backup plan and a backup weapon. Thats why he was so successful. He and Plagueis made the Force bend to their will.
2:56 Technically Maul was never truly trained to be a Sith, but as a mere weapon of destruction, one that could be easily disposed of when no longer needed. Sidious's master, Darth Plagueis, even gave Sidious permission to train Maul as an apprentice for this reason. (Regardless, few post-Bane Sith Lords truly honored the Rule of Two)
There's several things i noticed during this fight. 1.sidious could have very much win if he didnt stop using his force power on maul and savage at the beginning of the fight. 2.during this entire duel, sidious is just toying around with maul and savage, only being serious at 1:54 and 3:31 3.sidious blocked savage's sword strike with ONE SABER very casually. A feat that even anakin and obi wan combined can't accomplish. Sidious had a lot of strength in that frail looking body Sidious isnt known for his duelling skill but this clip shows us how potent he is with a lightsaber. As well as how powerful his force powers are
Sidious also appears to have been headbutted by Savage at 1:30. Savage has long, sharp horns, which should have done serious damage. Pretty sure he killed Adi Gallia with that move.
The one thing I love is how the writers let to know pay attention by the lightsaber sound design. Maul, savage, sidious and later, general krell all have very distinct sounds when their sabers are used and their all amazing.
1:35 thats such a cold moment when they all just drop down, they thought they pushed him off but really he just leveled the playing field to his advantage and the landing goes hard as hell
If you turn the brightness on your phone high enough and your in a dark room, you can actually see Darth Sidious's eyes in many, if not most of the shots.
I was really impressed by how well Maul was able to hold his own vs Sidious at the end. When Savage died, i was hoping it was gonna unlock something inside Maul, allowing him to tap into some serious power so he could be Sidious' true "rival"
@Lutumaru Talzin healing him, actually brought back some of his lost powers, you could see that in season 7 when maul destroyed a venator by using only the force.
@@NakAnderso True and he was formiddable opponent/very formidable. his knowledge was unparamount and so too his conviction. Only other person who could beat him was probably anakin skywalker who replaced dooku soon afterwards and killed Dooku.
NGL first time seeing this episode, Sidious was terrifying as an opponent. He pretty much is like a phantom here; you just can’t beat him no matter how hard you tried. The fact that he’s even using 2 lightsabers really shows he’s just playing with his food, letting Maul and Savage attempt to strike him down while he just casually dodges then spontaneously lunges at them for a vicious attack.
Interesting how sidious can effortlessly block savages attack’s when his overwhelming strength usually staggers other duelists. Just goes to show that knowledge in the force can overcome any physical disadvantages.
I don’t think this scene gets enough credit. Sidious is so powerful that when he first pins the two brothers to the glass, he could have ended them both right there. But he allows them to retaliation and laughs with malicious glee and getting to throw off his tiresome mask of benevolence, diplomacy and altruism. He at long last gets to revel in his true role, Dark Lord of the Sith.
I found the rule of two dumb. Main reason? If those two were to die, who would continue the legacy? What happens if the Jedi discover them and end up killing them? Vader and Sidious getting killed was because of Sidious' arrogance and killed the sith. Just like the Jedi who fell years before.

Lacking form and finess? What
@@Good_Watch Savage was a wild animal who swung wildly around

For those of you who don’t realize how insane this scene is, Savage Opress at full power WRECKED both Obiwan and Anakin, and Palpatine wiped the floor with Savage.
Also bear in mind when Savage headbutted Adi Gallia she got impaled by his horns but Sidious got headbutted he just tanked it like it was a pillow
There’s another side to this. Sidious has his hood covering his eyes the entire fight.
This is easily one of my favorite fights. Just shows how powerful Sidious is with a lightsaber and how beautiful his technique is. At the same time, it shows that he at any moment could put the blades down and end the fight in an instant with his mastery of the force.
Yeah it’s the fact he’s just toying with them and stalling the inevitable. It gives this fight a deep look at the caliber palps was.

3:10 me too
@@SoraWorkerDrone The funny thing is, Sidious doesn't even like lightsaber dueling

Sidious doesn't have to be cold often, he has to be The Senate
Despite being so powerful, he is good at blending in and using this and time at his favor to get to be the ruler of the galaxy
*Basically this fight:*
Maul: "Well I feel great today. Just took over Mandalore. Killed Kenobi's girl and made him watch. I also got this sweet new sword. Life is good."
Palpatine enters: "I noticed you were in a good mood today. Let me knock you down a peg."
"Or five."
Karma's a bitch Maul.
“The sith do not feel great, we only feel bad”
+ryhansen1 Sidious was a monster, what bad ass in Revenge of the Sith.
Nah. Filoni confirmed that the only reason Maul lasted so long was because Sidious was toying with them, even during the latter part of the duel.

Both can be true
I think the fear came first, but it turned to hate after Sidious declared him a rival.
One of the coolest fights ever in Clone Wars.
To put it into perspective, Maul and Savage DOMINATED almost EVERYONE they went up against... and even when fighting Palpatine, they managed to get two headbutts/hits in and STILL lost. As Qui Gon once said, "There's always a bigger fish."
Overall it REALLY puts into perspective that not only was Palpatine playing chess with himself during The Clone Wars, manipulating and playing games for each side, but was also EXTREMELY strong in the force and made this fight seem like childs play, going up against some of the strongest sith in that time.
1:53: Love that shot of him wincing as he falls on his ankle wrong. It implies Sideous only ended the fight after because he caught himself getting overconfident, decides he's not having fun anymore, and ends it there.
Palpatine didn’t come here to fight he came here to play
That’s for sure.

Well, he _is_ a Sith'ari. and yeah, Sheev faked the Mace Windu loss to lure Anakin
+Darth Distortion that's not true
All in the books baby
It's true Sidious decided to stop toying with him when he put away his saber, but he still crushed him nonetheless
It also shows that even if Mace did legitimately disarm Sidious, Sidious could've still fought through the Force, since he dislikes Lightsaber combat in general
1:06 notice how maul goes in to Obi Wan's form Soresu. Probably since he was defeated by that form wich made him think it could work against Sidious.
Or that he was afraid of Sidious that he abandoned his preferred form of light sabers combat
Maul was trained to be familiar with each saber form to hunt Jedi when he was Sidious’s Apprentice, only be specializes in Form 7 Juyo
Being called a RIVAL by what is essentially space 'Satan' himself must be a terrifying, yet great honour in of itself XD
at least Savage Opress fought like a boss before being cut down by Sidious

(Regardless, few post-Bane Sith Lords truly honored the Rule of Two)
That reminds me of how Sidious kills Darth plagueis as John kreese kills captain Turner from the flashbacks from cobra Kai season 3 finale.
There's several things i noticed during this fight.
1.sidious could have very much win if he didnt stop using his force power on maul and savage at the beginning of the fight.
2.during this entire duel, sidious is just toying around with maul and savage, only being serious at 1:54 and 3:31
3.sidious blocked savage's sword strike with ONE SABER very casually. A feat that even anakin and obi wan combined can't accomplish. Sidious had a lot of strength in that frail looking body
Sidious isnt known for his duelling skill but this clip shows us how potent he is with a lightsaber. As well as how powerful his force powers are
its also that he got kicked by metal legs at 3:24 ,wouldnt that hurt
Sidious also appears to have been headbutted by Savage at 1:30. Savage has long, sharp horns, which should have done serious damage. Pretty sure he killed Adi Gallia with that move.
@@MCSPARTAN501 she die because of the ligth saber but she was probably going to die any way.

God, the fucking sound design in this little moment!
The one thing I love is how the writers let to know pay attention by the lightsaber sound design. Maul, savage, sidious and later, general krell all have very distinct sounds when their sabers are used and their all amazing.
The senate wanted those taxes, man.
1:35 thats such a cold moment when they all just drop down, they thought they pushed him off but really he just leveled the playing field to his advantage and the landing goes hard as hell
Has anyone noticed how you NEVER see Darth Sidious and Chancellor Palpatine in the same location at once?
No just me? Okay.
When I watched this for the first time. The animation, the voice overs, the story lines my god this was so good.
Admit it: When we saw savage get up to face sidious on his own, we knew he was dead already.
If you turn the brightness on your phone high enough and your in a dark room, you can actually see Darth Sidious's eyes in many, if not most of the shots.
Luke Huizenga the dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some considered to be unnatural.
@@mtado4933 ooh!
Ok wow
Watching a fight this great on a phone is an insult.
Well I mean he did actually give Sidious a good duel. But in the force he cannot compete
@@NakAnderso Agreed. Also part of the reason he can't beat Dooku.
@@supernova7567 Maul would beat Dooku imo. His force strength from what I've seen is superior. And Dooku wasn't lasting like this against Sidious.
@@NakAnderso True and he was formiddable opponent/very formidable. his knowledge was unparamount and so too his conviction. Only other person who could beat him was probably anakin skywalker who replaced dooku soon afterwards and killed Dooku.
1:08 Maul using his boy Kenobi’s stance. Shows as much as he hates him, he knows he’s a worthy adversary and his method works.
The way Sidious destroys the floor before the fight is so fucking sweet
Now you see, this version of Sidious? THIS I could believe could kill three Jedi Masters with ease and hold his own against the Jedi Grand Master.
There is no mercy... OMG emperor why so cool
3:49-3:51 force lightning ⚡️
That line was so en"lightening"
The Senate won due to his unlimited power.
1:34 Naturally, yes.

Lol Darth Maul already knew he fucked up!!

Every Sith Lord is gangsta until the senate walks in.
Savage never reached his potential.
2:17-2:33 no, he doesn’t.
I don't know why but Sidious's dash towards them at the beginning of the fight is really satisfying especially when he drags the sabers on the floor .
3:55
when you’re walking behind a woman at night and she keeps on looking back at you
The other part Is kinda zicked
Bruh
3:09 the score is the background is so epic.
This actually showed just how powerful maul could’ve become if he completed his training. He made the dark lord of the sith sweat a little bit.
Had em tired🤷♂️ palp knew that maul could duel with him that’s why he put his sabers away he was done fucking around😭
2:00. Sidious taking on Savage with his lightsabers turned off LIKE A BOSS.
Something that Jedis are scared to do, they need to try hard 24/7 lol
Interesting how sidious can effortlessly block savages attack’s when his overwhelming strength usually staggers other duelists. Just goes to show that knowledge in the force can overcome any physical disadvantages.
Force Enhance Condition is overpowered
I never noticed that when Savage dies he looses all of his muscle and armor, I thought it was just him decaying and such
It's him losing all the nightsister magic that empowered him

When Sidious started laughing after stabbing him, his laughter represent the pain that is come for Mother Talzin.
@@JinxTheLooneyToon915 I never even knew
@@JinxTheLooneyToon915 2:46 that’s what I remember watching this episode, when I was 16 years old.
I noticed that.
2 things.
1 the sound and fighting style of Sidious is amazing
2 the “boo” after stabbing Savage is just perfect
2:03 Sidious just casually just dodging opress attacks and smiling! That's how you know he is toying with them.
When mom says "wait until your father gets home" that fear Maul had for Sidious is no joke.
Yeah he wanted to get a nice workout. It's not often that he gets to do this.
maul did temporarily match sidious, but obviously sidious proved too strong.
His grin during the whole fight is great. He relishes the violence
3:25 me and my brother with sticks outside
This is beyond true

"Two there should be; no more, no less. One to embody the power, the other to crave it." Darth Bane founder of the rule of two
I found the rule of two dumb. Main reason? If those two were to die, who would continue the legacy? What happens if the Jedi discover them and end up killing them? Vader and Sidious getting killed was because of Sidious' arrogance and killed the sith. Just like the Jedi who fell years before.
@@bman296 The Sith nearly went extinct from in-fighting. The rule of 2 kept them alive.
