After a hard day in my 18 wheeler, I pulled into the truck stop at Fancy Gap, Va. and walked down the hill to the farmers market to get some grub. To my delight, these guys were putting on a show. Had a delightful evening listening to the great music and watching the locals dance in front of the stage. Picked up some good fruit and veggies at the market, too.

@Opal Allen Yep. Some good greens, muscadines and fresh tomatoes does a body good, too.

I seen this band in Moncton NB, Great band!!!!!!! That fiddler is the best out there today in all bluegrass circles...very tasteful!!!!!! Met Sammy at the CD table and wanted to get my pic with him, he hopped across the table and said sure man ... they know how to respect their fans for sure what a class act all around!!!!

I was staying out at a buddies house in the country one night...and we stayed outside drinking all night...around 4 o' clock a man about a mile and a half down the road started playing the banjo. He was an excellent picker..and it scared the poop out of everyone.

Ashby Frank has filled in for all the best groups. And he always kills it. I met his dad at a BBQ shop. Elmer Edwards, a luthier took me.

I typed bluegass music in the search, Hudson Valley caught my eye, and as just a non-religious sampler of the unknown genre of bluegrass I must say I'm thoroughly impressed. The pews should have been moved for room for a dancefloor :) Great work.

Jammed with randy many times good guy hard to believe he was in a rock band in the 80s that would of made it but lead singer and guitar player died but glad to see he followed his dream

Sammy gets that really nice POP! out of that banjo. I wonder what model it is?

I believe it's a Huber Signature Truetone series (Sammy Shelor) model. Ron Block of Alison Krause & Union Station has been seen playing one too.

too many instruments that sound a like, base banjo, fidle and guitar is enough.
    hey mister vilor,
do you think bill monore john duffey, sam bush, bobby osborne, jesse mcReynolds, doyle lawson, ricky scaggs, paul williams, david grisman, chris thile, ronnie mccoury, adam steffey, jethro burns, tim o'brien, marty stuart, rhonda vincent, roland white, peter rowan. jimmy gaudreau, buck white, joe val, frank wakefield, sierra hull, ira louvin, among many other great mandolin players would agree with you. i think not!!! the mandolin, bass, banjo, fiddle, guitar, and dobro are all standard bluegrass instruments with very unique sounds that are very different from each other. i guess you could get by with only one instrument but the sound is heavenly with all six and twins instruments to boot. i'm guessing you hadn't listened to much bluegrass music when you made your comment. just curious, do you think a symphony orchestra has too many instruments? ken t.

Huh??? What on earth are you talking about.....according to your wishlist there is only the mandolin that is not included. How does that add up to "too many instruments that sound alike"?
What else sounds like a mandolin?

Hawklord25 Music advice from someone who doesn't even know how to spell "bass" is advice to be avoided.
