Another great video- these just ooze nostalgia. One of the guys we ball with on the weekends still wears these for playing. I found my pair to be too squeaky and have a “clop” sound that I couldn’t get over. I bought my son a pair of 13Y and it wasn’t until he could actually fit them that his teacher contacted me that they were both a right side foot!! No help from Converse.
You are telling the truth!! I'm a baby boomer that's all we wore! When they came back i order about a pair every month i have about thirty pair i dressup in them or dress down they come in every style and any colors you want i get so many compliments from all ages, the most comfortable shoes you could wear,
At the age of 34, i wore chucks back in high school. They were ok in terms of comfort. I bought another pair around age 26 and they were super uncomfortable. Fast forward to today, I wanted to give them another chance. My black low top all stars have been pleasantly comfortable to wear. They're the best bang for the buck shoes that anyone can get.
Chucks are the best sneakers! Been collecting sneakers for years; I had 8 pairs of superstars, 13 pairs of vans, and now 10 converse. I gave away most of the others, keeping my chuck 70s because they are so comfortable and go with anything all year round! Leather & suede/pigskin uppers, even the rubber/plastic that modern “serious” athletic shoes are made of, all that gets very hot and will not breathe; Converse cotton canvas breathes and keeps my feet warm enough. They are perfect for walking around for about 4 hours or so. Wear them to Disneyland, church, everyday walks, love them. GREAT VIDEO! Thank you so much; sorry for the long comment but if you write fantasy novels you’re probably used to reading a bunch 😊of
My older brother throughout his whole life has seemed to wear almost nothing but converse and dr martens, I’ve seen his converse collection (he’s kept them once a pair falls apart for years) and he has almost any color of the rainbow and most have custom colored laces, they’re very comfortable shoes and I notice I’m true to size as my feet are a standard width. This in my opinion is one of the best shoes you can buy especially for the price, I prefer the high tops as they’re only 10$ more and I love the star patch! Great video! Deserved a like!
They did add this minimally padded lining on the inside. I appreciate the added comfort. Also, the Ortholite footbed is present in the Chuck 70. The material of the regular Chucks' footbed is just standard EVA. I'm going against the current here, but I find these EVA footbeds more comfortable than the Ortholite ones.
they did demolish my little toes until I got used to them and stretched them out (maybe I got a size too small). But after that i fell in love. I even run in them like Rocky. They're the most comfortable shoes for anything (except hiking of course)
You can get wide offerings in the classic color options now. They are significantly better than sizing up a whole size like I did for years. Still narrow in the toe box for a 4E foot but better.
I ordered a pair of all stars a couple of weeks ago. When i noticed the new (cheap) lining i sent them back. I doubt these would last longer than six months before wearing out. I stay with my StarPlayer76
I also thought the same thing, so I looked for another store that still sold the old version and I go for it. the new one felt so comfortable but i'm not sure about the durability
If I could have any pair of sneakers or collect any special edition sneakers, it would be the All-stars. These have been my favourite shoes since I was a kid and I've loved wearing them(still need to buy my own pair one day😅) They are so popular here in South Africa as well. The design and the cool factor got me hooked on them . Next to the Adidas superstar, The All-stars are my favourite sneakers ever
Look nice but thin. I didn't see those kinds at my local shoe stores. They seem to sell a different kind more in line with the current sneaker model with more thickness it seems.
It's just about Chuck season for me. I think I might try the Chuck 70's. See if I get some more millage out of them. I use to pay $25 for the low tops in the 90's
@@StrayReviews It's a little hard to pull the trigger on then, knowing I use to buy Chucks for $25 and the 70's are $90. But how can I NOT try a pair. I 've only been wearing chucks sense grade school.
All I've worn for years. I got i would say about 15 pairs in different styles and colors. I wear a pair of the run star hikes for work, very comfortable with a ton of cushion. I run a warehouse, they are great for concrete floors.
is it just me but the chuck taylor I recently got has a strong chemical smell right out of the box (rubber?)... didn't go away for days and eventually I decided to return
Nah man. A rubber sole with a cloth attached. It may be iconic but is far far far from comfy. Not really durable either. Until the superior Cuck II return (one can wish) the Vans Sk8 are more comfortable and probably better built. Even the Chuck 70s are an upgrade over the regular ones.
Converse Chuck Taylor are just overprice for what they are , you can get now day a copy for 5-10 euro that will be just as good , why send the 60 just for the coverse logo ,,

Footwear staple.

Wow, that must have been massively disappointing. Chucks are just the coolest!
It's cheap
It's comfortable
It's stylish
It's the most versatile
It's immortal ❤

Thirty pairs!! Very nice!
Never fan of sneaker but i recently become interested on this sneaker.seems versatile enough for me.
What i love about this sneaker was first the unique and timeless design then the legacy that it carries.
Definitely 👍

100% Sometimes when I travel, a pair of Chucks is all I need. No need to pack anything else because they just somehow go with everything.

Hollywood would use Converse in a bunch of movies back in the day, my fav is Brian O Connor in 2 Fast 2 Furious
Nice! 👍
Hey. Chuck 70s are much more comfortable iny opinion. Id never go back to the regular Chuck's.
I’ve heard that they’re better. I’m hoping to pick up a pair sometime this year.
@StrayReviews I prefer the original ones I still have them I may get other pairs when this one get all lossed

Amie and Kevin got me some shoes 1.25 used they look great 😊
I love the Converse All Star ❤👟
Classic!
I bought my favorite colors and use it alternately. In that way, I don't wear out any pair.
Excellent plan! 👍
@StrayReviews Thanks. 🙂
these and pro keds were big when i was growing up in 1970's
Heck yes!

Maybe the ones you saw at the store were the Chuck 70s? They have thicker soles.
@@StrayReviews maybe but it says high street. Still the same price as others. The red ones intrigue me.

Truth 👍
Chuck 70's is way better than the All star's.
I’ve heard that. I’ll have to pick up a pair.
Great review. What size are you wearing?
9.5 - A half size down from my normal shoe size.
What about a all black converse
I’m pretty sure they’re the same with black rubber instead of white.
@StrayReviews thankyou for the confirmation
it's a slab or rubber with a canvas top - sometimes old school isn't better
Seems like people either love them or hate them.

Wow. I didn’t notice that with these but I bought them a while ago.
How long does it lasts...if i wear them as casual shoes for college
It depends on how often you wear them. I'm sure they'd get you through a year.
I wear mine to the gym!
Nice! My son does that too.
Great content sir
Thank you Stephen!

I need to try those Chuck 70s!
I don't see why they are so popular. They take forever to get on, due to the laces. And the toes are squashed together in a tight toebox.
I is strange. Some people find them super comfortable, while others don’t like wearing them at all. I think it’s a bit of a cultural phenomenon.
