KOENIGSEGG Regera | 0-400-0 km/h - WORLD RECORD
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- Regera is Swedish for "To Reign", and this new record extends that reign even further.
The performance of the Regera has been proven over the years on the road and on the track with several lap, acceleration, and braking records, and now it has again broken the 0-400-0 km/h and 0-250-0 mph records for the second time, managing this ultimate test of acceleration, speed, and braking in an astonishing 28.81 seconds for km/h and 29.60 for mph.
Previously, the most famous record was the 2019 0-400-0 km/h record at 31.49 seconds, which beat Koenigsegg’s 2017 0-400-0 km/h record that was set by the Agera RS at 33.29 seconds.
So, why set these new records with a car that is long off the production line? Because it can! Because it is still the King reigning supreme in today’s super competitive automotive landscape, and that is something that should be celebrated with a new record.
The Regera was conceived and engineered ten years ago and is still unbeatable, but how can the Regera be faster today than it was 4 years ago?
Simple - New Cup2R tires from Michelin and a smoother track compared to previous record runs.
All data was measured and verified by RACELOGIC.
0-400-0 km/h 28.81 sec

There's actually quite a lot of movement left-right during braking. Look at the Nevera braking, it's straight as an arrow with no corrections needed. In fact Rimac jokingly did the 300-0 braking with the driver having only one hand on the wheel and eating an icecream with the other.

@Tuatara Aggressor Nevera took 12 seconds to go from 300 to 400 km/h while Regera did it in 9.7 seconds... In a drag race, Nevera would cross the finish line first but Regera would be getting closer to Nevera during the last few seconds of the race. Rimac: Uses a car with 1914 hp and all wheel drive that can do an 8 second quarter mile
Koenigsegg: Uses the same car as before but on a better surface
TIME in the quarter mile is all about the launch, the initial kick. Beyond that, power to weight, aero drag, peak power, those take over.
You DON'T want to fight against power to weight ratio. Getting a 2+ ton car moving takes tremendous effort and power.
@@POLARTTYRTM I analyzed this launch frame by frame. There was a slight dip in the power between 30-55 kmph. The best launch of the Regera was their 0-300-0 run, where it got to 100 kmph in 38 m, and not 40 m as here. The 0-50 kmph has always been the Regera's Achilees Heel (and for that matter any Egg), there's half a second in there for sure. Those rear motors must kick harder there. That is the one place where Ferrari, and Porsche do better. I believe it's because the software doesn't allow any wheelslip or very little. The Rimac Nevera's TC is so aggressive and allows so much more wheelspin that their 0-60 mph acceleration is actually BETTER than the 60-0 braking!! Which means they've gone beyond the normal frictional limits of their tires. Koenigsegg too can actually best their time all the way to 260 kmph if they let the wheels slip more. A few software updates could take a whole second out of the acceleration time in theory.
Having just watched the Rimac record on here it looks like the driver sits at 400KMH for around 4 seconds before breaking. Where as the Koenigsegg driver only for 1 second. Pretty sure that record is going to tumble when Rimac get their next shot. But however fast it goes it will never sound as good as the Koenigsegg. I'll take ICE every time.
@@srinitaaigaura well I would say that they can break more records if they are really working on the Jesko Absolut to perfection and make it untouchable even for Rimac, since its supposed speed is above 500kph, it should go to 400 much faster, especially over 200kph.
But again, Rimac's past record is still really impressive, simply because getting a 2+ ton car moving that fast and accelerating that fast is a feat of engineering that should never get ignored, it weighs double than most supercars/hypercars. Imagine if it weighed the same as other supercars/hypercars.
I think I am mostly impressed with the fact that is it still climbing at 400 km/hr......400km/hr seems like such an insane number just typing it out. Quite unbelievable. Glad there are people out there doing this sort of thing.
The Regera makes 1700+ bhp on E85 and also is much slicker and lighter than a Chiron SS. That much power is easily good for 500 kmph+, keep in mind it actually makes significantly more peak power than even the Jesko Absolut. The Peak power is actually 1800 hp+ between 7250-7500 rpm. If the motors could handle it, and the final drive was right, it could go past 500 kmph no problem. It has traded top speed for acceleration instead. Also no one I am aware of has made motors that can go to such speeds yet.
@@srinitaaigaura Also, being a hybrid, its' electric motors produce maximum torque from zero revs...
@@srinitaaigaura So dense, is our atmosphere at sea level, that once the car hits 265 mph the front end converts into a parachute. It's a condition that can only be overcome with Aerodynamic efficiency.... not 3000 hp can push it much beyond. Not the easiest field to go from scratch to the top, and then continuing to push and... the dude has a passion for the engineering of things. Innovating and taking on innovation (free-valve is so cool, it -- or something similar -- should be the future of ICE). The way they build their cars in house, starting with the carbon fibre, going to making their own engins and transmission. I'm full of admiration.

ICE will be phased out by 2050
Driving4Answers did a nice video with regards to Free-Valve ("FreeValve Isn't a Big Deal. Here's why") BUT, 100% agree with you. He is as passionate to engineering as Horacio is to design... without faulting the other thing.
Not sure there's going to be much of a future to ICEs unless we make ourselves heard. As far as I know, in about 10 years or so, Koenigsegg might have to go out of business as they won't be allowed to sell cars with ICEs.
@@CristiNeagu maybe it's even right that we stop burning carbon based fuels. It hurts, but it might be right. On the scale of things, running a single high performance car doesn't even register. It's burning oil to produce electricity or running every car and lorry/truck that runs on the road. Not even one person in a million will be driving a Koenigsegg around. A electric car will have a torque curve that will crap all over your everyday ICE car. I don't think petrol fueled cars have to go away, they just have to become more efficient and for enjoyment, not for your day-to-day transportation.

The regera is 2015 car 👽
Rimac's main enemy might be weight. Somewhere in the development of the Nevera, hundreds of kilograms seem to have been added. Few people understand this, but going from 399 to 400 means A LOT more kinetic energy absorbed than from 199 to 200. 4x as much, actually. Aero and rolling drag may add up to similar, but 500 kg extra HURTS and can only be compensated for with power. In having to beat the lighter Regera, SILLY power. Now, technically it's well possible to provide that power, and with AWD all the more so. But it's more difficult to do in a car that's also supposed to be a livable GT.

Well done Koenigsegg. You knew that Rimac would steal that record but you wouldn't let it slide. Well done again Christian and your team. Also props to the camera man for beating the record of the regera he was filming 🤣. I really wonder how many records the Absolut will break...
THE
SHOW
MUST
GO ON
Nevera will beat the Regera very soon I reckon. Nevera didn't beat Regera in 0-400-0 but it did beat it in 0-400. So it's got more acceleration performance, it's just about breaking.
@@CreeplexHD Koenigsegg will hang onto those records for a while, as when building and designing every car they try to make their cars lighter, more powerful and ready to break records. On the other hand Koenigsegg will probably try their very best to not let any record slide but eventually EV's could and probably will take over the market and dominate the record books. For the meantime tho they wont let any records be taken from them and if they are they will fight back...
Well, a Rimac prototype no longer exist
maybe they filmed it with the jesko
@@CreeplexHD NO, you are wrong Rimac was beaten 0-400km/hr too, rimac did 21.34 sec Koenigsegg did 20 sec. Koenigsegg is a beast.
🙀Well sweet baby Jesus that’s fast 💨…The Kings lives 😎🤙🏾
🙀🙀🙀
Regera is one of my favorite Koenigseggs, and I love it. Amazing job!
När Sommar Kommer… Kommer Koenigsegg 🇸🇪
Someone at Koenigsegg saw the regera sitting there and thought “I bet that 6 year old car could break a record with a few mods” great job Koenigsegg!
It sounds like the tires made a big difference (makes sense), and they were able to get higher performing tires. The brake aspect of the this test is almost 100% a tire traction test.
Christian and Mate are the hyper car rivalry we didn't know we needed! And rhe mutual respect between them is real. Incredibly difficult to break into the hypercar club and stay there without a legacy brand to lean on!
Props to them both and long may they both keep pushing the boundaries! 👊
Well said and i couldn't agree more regarding the brutal competition in the hypercar market. It's like the small companies Koenigseggs and Rimac came from nowhere to dominate the rest of them. The future is looking bright for these two top-tier hypercar manufacturers. I can't wait to see what's up next from both of them! The only negative thoughts i have is that the pricing that is a bit steep for 99% of us. But miracles happen just not to me 😜
Fr TOURBILLION cooked Koenigsegg with 0-400-0 in 15 seconds 🗿
Nope. Thats not gonna happen. Tourbillon is not capable of doing 0-400-0 in just 15 seconds. Where do you have that from?
@@manuelplatte5014 bugati official website
@@foxifiregamingop642 its 25 seconds not 15
@@foxifiregamingop642 dude, that clip of the Bugatti accelerating was CGI. The real figure they listed was “
Insane work and dedication guys, you’re pushing the limits of design and engineering!
I got to see a couple of Regeras for the first time last week... I always found them brilliant but being up close makes you appreciate them even more! A fantastic feat of engineering.
I was shown around it at the Geneva Autosalon once by a Koenigsegg engineer. Such a stage presence. I got to shake CvK's hand in passing, what an honor.
Love how this 7 year old Koenigsegg makes brandnew Electric cars seem slow.
wait for rimac nevera to get on such a surface and tires.
rimac destroys this car dude. it's just up to 400 where the egg has the edge. rimac 0-300 and anything below that absolutely smokes this car.
@@MegaUnavailableusernwith 500 more hp, give this car 1920 hp and 2300 nm of torque then see the results. The beauty of ICE cars is that even with less hp they can destroy electrics in long run. EVs are only quick not fast and ice cars acc. Ice cars are way quicker than evs in higher end
@@ananttyagi8463 Yeah but, The Regera is 1500-1600kg vs the Rimac being 2300kg. So I can use the same logic, sooooo what if the Rimac was 1500kg?
The Regera ain’t touching the Nevera to begin with, especially in a 1/4 mile or 1/2 mile. That AWD and instant torque you’re not beating. Maybe it’ll eventually catch up in the 1 mile, but pass it, probably not.
Go l watch the CarWow drag race of a Regera RS (running at 1250hp not 1360hp) vs Tesla Plaid vs a race bike, you will find the obvious results.
oh wow, a koenigsegg is quicker than a chevy bolt
Epic filming and music was perfect..Well Done!!
And i thought a Tesla Plaid is fast 😳 this makes it look like a Nissan Leaf. One second faster than the Rimac Nevera!
Cant compare a slow Tesla to a Koenigsegg bro
@@chadmueller9135 wouldn't say slow at all 😂 but yeah, Koenigseggs are different. Elon really has to step his game up
Tesla doesn't hold a single performance record.
Been my favorite car company for a while. Glad to see them getting the recognition; as well as pushing the industry to new heights.
Congratulations to the entire Koenigsegg team 🎉🙌
next please do the Gemera 2300HP~ i seriously wanna see that 4-seat Monster unleashed on the track! 😍
The gift that keeps on giving, The whole team at Koenigsegg are insane and Christian has to be the greatest automotive innovator of all time, genius!
They shall chant thy name as the king of kings.
He's awesome, but I'd rank Colin Chapman above him by a long way, personally.
@@Nite-owl gotta love Colin, both masters of their craft
3 years later and they did it again!
1:42 litteraly looks like he is about to take off
Bro really make 2 in 1 video he makes scania advertisement too 0:14
I'm glad the Rimac battery works well in Regera!! 😉👍
And Rimac should thank Orovel.
Good point ....
O SNAP!!! That hurts Sweden🥹
What Battery ??
Clearly this was a one up to Rimac. Since they just broke the record. Love it
Imagine you use rimac battery better than rimac😂 , and don’t forget its full electric 1914 hp vs 1500 hp
To this day this company is my ultimate goal as a car enthusiast to own one of their cars no matter how much it may be out of reach. Just amazing piece of engineering.
Congratulations to the entire Koenigsegg team . The 400-0 is more impressive than the 0-400! Insane work!.
A real master piece of fine engineering 👍🏻
V8 Powaaaaah baby.
You guys are insane for doing this record again
8 year old car, new tires.
I wish cars like Porsche 918 Spyder were sent out for lap attacks with new brake pad material, and crucially, modern tires.
Man you are the beast!
@@Cloxxki Write on Porsche's channel.
@Tuatara Aggressor Tell that to Cloxxki! 🤣🤦♂️
@Tuatara Aggressor Yeah one of your multiple accounts. 🤦♂️
Koenigsegg can beat there records so many times over and over and still be wanting more! And that’s what I love about them! Always pushing to absolute maximum limits!
I am from 2024 and i know Koenigsegg will going to break its own record 😂
More like:
Koenigsegg Regera: Time for you to shine, Jesko Absolut
And another thing I noticed is a regera chilling in the right corner of the screen literally right before the absolute did it's run but in its first person run lmao
0:26 the only thing scarier than a Civic with a laptop, a Koenigsegg with a laptop
Exactly mate
And that sound! I heard it first at Jay Leno's Garage and thought, Man, what a gorgeous rumbly sound, instant classic!
Nice done, and as we say in Swinglish -
"you have really shown where the cabinet should stand"!
I am really proud of the whole Koenigsegg team.
Wow ! Congrat Koenigsegg ! Usually it is Bugatti who always steals the spote (bugatti broke down the internet in 2019 with 300 + mph run and in October 2020 when it introduced the Bolide whereas the Tuatara broke the record). But this time, the Egg steals the spote to the Bugatti Tourbillon.
I love CVK saying that they are almost fed up of beating their own records (a kind of call to John Hennessey ? Let's see if the Venom F5 can really reach 400 kph in 15.5 s).
It is crazy to see how fast the Absolut in the 300 - 412 kph range !! 😮😮
Great luck and can t wait to see it breaking the World Speed record soon... 😊
2:08 the king is back 💯😎😈
Koenigsegg never cease to amaze me! ❤
The way it just constantly plants power to the ground is just fascinating!
Me who has sat in that exact car:😎
You are guys insane. Love Koenigsegg ❤ congratulations for another record with your masterpiece
I love how the car was so stable when he brakes from so high speed to 0 amazing 👍
please, jesko absolut top speed test christian, we need this!!!
Wait until the record gets broken and then you your wishes will come true
Probably the only company that defined this generation of hyper cars along with Buggati
Lmaoo Koenigsegg actually just had to go back and retake the record, that's why I love em, keep it up legends.
What an incredible car! Still amazed at it having one gear!
No gears, simply a direct drive torque converter
@@obsoleteoptics right. Incredible!
Most impressive thing is that it has a slower 0-100 time, so imagine how it pulls in the high end.
There's no way it can beat the AWD Nevera to 200 kmph with only half the wheels. But then the kerb weight of 1590 kg and more slick aero makes all the difference.
@srinitaaigaura Koenigsegg just proved, " this is the way".
Also, The Gemera will be even faster.
Nevera have more horsepower/2000hp
Regera have 1600hp
@@AgeraRS7 1700+ on E85, adds 200 bhp. Actually you have not seen the approximate power curve. But all Eggs make their peak power at 7250-7500 rpm. With the electric motors, the peak power at around 360 kmph is like 1850 bhp.
Yeah , it’s like driving the car at 5th gear and like 4000 RPMs on lower end , but on higher end , it can’t be beaten
That's just 2 seconds away from Kenan Sofuğolu's 400km world record Kawasaki H2R run through the Bridge in Turkey .
Very impressive engineering by Koenigsegg...
