Thanks a lot. I dropped my SE on the floor and it wouldn't turn on. Disconnected the battery and reconnected and it worked again. @@yquienvaaserHi there. I guess you are right. I encountered the same problem with my SE, the camera stopped working including the flash, and when I brought it to the repairshop, the repairer ordered a new camera module and I have the same problem where the autofocus doesn’t work and sometimes it works just fine by closing and making some changes in the camera settings. And in the video, it was shown that the 8’s camera is compatible with the SE as it focuses just fine (closeup), but he didn’t tested to take a photo in a far distance. My guess is that I got an iPhone 8 camera module instead of an SE camera module. Even though either of the two can be attached but the functionality isn’t totally compatible. Also, I read a comment from another video which someone tested to put 5 iPhone 8 camera modules to an iPhone SE 2020 and the autofocus won’t work, until he put an iPhone SE camera module. Thank you!
@@ShanesTech After my comment I ordered an SE camera replacement, and with that one it worked perfectly, so it seems the camera is not completely compatible, but it might be a firmware issue more so than a hardware one I believe
Yes the camera can be put into iphone 8 (I put the camera from SE into iphone 8 and it worked, and iphone 8 camera in SE and it worked), but its possible the software might not make use of improvements since usually software and hardware have to work with one another. So I am not sure if there will actually be improvements on pictures or be the same. iFixit will probably get into more detail on that in a few days.
Billy Valdez there would be no improvements to photos, as the hardware of the iPhone 8 and iPhone SE are the same, but the only way for the photos to be better (which is the case on the SE) is for the A13 chip to connect to the camera hardware and enhance it. This is why the iPhone SE takes better photos than the iPhone 8 with the same camera hardware
Thank you for this precise guide about what parts are interchangeable with the 8 and SE2. Now that the 8 is not getting updates, I think I might do this upgrade because I can still use my mint iPhone 8 and just swap the logic board and a new battery. I can live with the no battery health situation, I don’t need it anyway.
Considering the fact they are pretty much identical hardware wise, I would lean toward software but I am not 100% sure. Someone with more insight into the hardware chips should be able to answer this question (hopefully) and probably the screen would have to be pried apart to see if the pressure/3d touch sensor is present on the SE screen or not, because comparing it from my video to one of an iphone 8 screen, it looks like the sensor is missing on the SE screen as you can see @9:36 in the video the square black rectangle at the bottom right of the screen. The iphone 8 screen has a sensor there, but it is possible its covered over by film or glue but would again require to tear apart the screen most likely to make 100% sure and I am not even sure if that would be the only fact proving or not proving if its only hardware or software. Best way to tell would be if someone with software know-how can look into seeing if its possible to enable the 3d touch and then trying a SE screen to see if it would work, if not then trying a iphone 8 screen on the SE to see if it would work that way. Sorry about the long explanation :) But ya they use haptic feedback now so not like its completely missing that feature.
Software support for 3D Touch on the SE2 is completely gone. Replacing the OEM display with the iPhone 8 won’t work. The hardware may be there but software won’t register as it’s not supposed to be used with the iPhone 8 display

Is it possible to put one of the cameras from iPhone 11 into the iPhone SE? Another question, is it possible to put the A13 bionic chip into Samsung Galaxy S20?
The camera I am not sure, but I would lean toward it not being possible. I don't have one on hand to try at the moment. Also the A13 to the S20 that I would have to say no, because it would not only require expert soldering skills but would also require probably the main board to be engineered to accept that processor type and the software to be programmed with it as well. But that's just my opinion.
It's possible to put the board into the iPhone 8 but I do know the antennas have a bit of differences, the SE has a different wifi antenna etc. so not sure how all that would work out. Software would be another hurdle.
For most things ya as long as you carry over the battery as well, however I am not sure 100% how well the antennas will work since the antenna design/layout has been slightly changed on the SE including the wifi so there is a chance you might run into some issues there. But if your planning on carrying everything over then that defeats the purpose since you could at that point just get an SE instead.
It's been a long time since I did this video, but I believe there may be antenna contact differences on the frame if you're swapping the back housing. As for just the back glass, it has some differences (like where the logo is placed etc.) but I think overall it might be the same. Not 100% sure.
Thank you for this video, actually I’m iPhone repairer. So all parts can exchange only the battery. What about the camera if I have iPhone 8 camera and change to iPhone SE camera it’s will be take effect I mean the quality? Please reply thank you.
You're welcome. The camera is the same in both, the processor on the SE is what provides the better "quality" with the photos. So putting the SE camera in the 8 wont change the quality, will be the same. Antennas are a bit different, so not sure how well it would work out if you put a SE board in a iphone 8 but camera, speaker, haptic motor things like that can all be interchanged. Just not the battery.
I love my 2020 SE, I also have an iPhone 12 Mini though I find myself using the SE much more often, I use my SE as a media consumption device, basically a better & cheaper than iPod Touch!
yep you would think it would make more profit for them to use the same connector but its possible they stopped making those connectors and started making the newer type so it was cheaper and easier for them to use the new style connector that they used on later devices that they had on hand.
Its software and hardware. The SE screen doesn't have the 3d touch chip on it nor does the main board have the pathways for it leading to the connector and also the software does not have it enabled.
No they just make it look that way since its more aesthetically pleasing and there is a mic there too which takes in sound. There is two mics on the bottom (one on each side of the wholes) of this phone but usually most have one on bottom and the rest around the phone in other areas. Some act as noise canceling mics others for when your taking videos and when the phone is in speaker mode etc.
The primary microphones are located to the left and right of the charger port on the flex cable, its a gold square or rectangular piece. There is also one by the camera assembly on the flex cable which is adhered to the housing/frame.
No because the 3d touch sensor installed on the iphone 8 screen is not the only thing that makes it work, the software and also hardware on the main board itself are different and don't read or work with the 3d touch sensor.
ARE THIS FOR REAL ? I saw a comment or two about this phone but didnt think it was true, this is the first time Im seeing it... jeeez apple, whats next ? a new ipod classic ?
No we have local buyers which get the phones from us or we list them online as disassembled units, second when you return a phone to any manufacture, if the box is opened, they don't resell it at retail again. Either they refurbish it and send it out as refurb units for replacements when people have damaged phones or they send it out as auction lots to refurb companies.
@@johnfrederickudtujan8337 ya I would hope so, apple said all their flagship devices in 2020 will support 5g so probably anything releasing after will support it as well
True but it can be looked at both ways. They make a lot more money this way as well by reusing the same design and parts and re releasing a phone down the line. However this also does make it much more affordable for people to buy as well and a good design I believe can't be overlooked. Looks? Good. Works? Good. Price? Good. :)

I love my 2020 SE, I also have an iPhone 12 Mini though I find myself using the SE much more often, I use my SE as a media consumption device, basically a better & cheaper than iPod Touch!
Yea, its a good device.
How my parents see me when i’m restarting the wifi router
making the battery not compatible with iphone 8 one is a dick move (apple move)
apple...
yep you would think it would make more profit for them to use the same connector but its possible they stopped making those connectors and started making the newer type so it was cheaper and easier for them to use the new style connector that they used on later devices that they had on hand.
@@PBKreviews we saw that policy in every mac-book release same architecture and slightly different connectors to make hard to repair
I CRACKED IT 4th day where do I get a new screen
You can always use an iPhone 8 screen :)
Hello
Bought phone with MDM . Question is To rid of mdm can i just swop motherboard from my old phone?
Happy birthday!
Does the iPhone SE secretly have 3D Touch disabled via software?
Its software and hardware. The SE screen doesn't have the 3d touch chip on it nor does the main board have the pathways for it leading to the connector and also the software does not have it enabled.
Power✌️💪
Good. Waiting a new Motorola edge+.
Will do it as soon as I am able to get one
OIS?
Yes has OIS
how many speakers does an iPhone se have?
One loud speaker on bottom and one speaker on top for the earpiece
@@PBKreviews oh..i thought it was 2 on bottom
No they just make it look that way since its more aesthetically pleasing and there is a mic there too which takes in sound. There is two mics on the bottom (one on each side of the wholes) of this phone but usually most have one on bottom and the rest around the phone in other areas. Some act as noise canceling mics others for when your taking videos and when the phone is in speaker mode etc.
where is the microphone?
The primary microphones are located to the left and right of the charger port on the flex cable, its a gold square or rectangular piece. There is also one by the camera assembly on the flex cable which is adhered to the housing/frame.
plzz battery drain
Will look into doing it
when iphone se use iphone 8 secreen can use 3D touch
No because the 3d touch sensor installed on the iphone 8 screen is not the only thing that makes it work, the software and also hardware on the main board itself are different and don't read or work with the 3d touch sensor.
Where is the processor?
support wifi6?
Yes supports wifi 6
How mah battery
1821 mAh
😮😮😮😮😮
So you can have iPhone 8 with iPhone 11 processor? Impressive.
slyzer x That’s basically what the SE is.
Who’s watching this on the iPhone se 2020??
Cus I am
me!
I need this iPhone so.......bad...........
I had the original iPhone SE, it doesn't have the best battery but it's good.
Now install the white screen from an iPhone 8 and see if it works HAHAHA
lol
It does
I could literally change the housing on my 8 to make it look like the SE and nobody could tell the difference
ARE THIS FOR REAL ? I saw a comment or two about this phone but didnt think it was true, this is the first time Im seeing it... jeeez apple, whats next ? a new ipod classic ?
Deberías usar guantes
:) I'll consider it. done it before but its easier to work without the gloves.
Shall we shoot against a wall to see if the 1gb of RAM helps it resist?😂😂😂😂
Selling a Ferrari with an Fiat motor wasn't work good dude:0
lol
and then you probably return the phone back to the Apple store and they resell it to a hard-working person end up getting a open phone ........😳
Donne-moi ton iPhone se 202

Cool.. support 5G
Thanks, no it doesn't support 5G
PBKreviews I hope the rumored iPhone SE Plus Apple will release next year will support 5G.
@@johnfrederickudtujan8337 ya I would hope so, apple said all their flagship devices in 2020 will support 5g so probably anything releasing after will support it as well

2020
Es casi casi igual al iphone 8
Yea, most people would not be able to tell the difference
Pero ya es 5g después no tiene ninguna diferencia verdad ?
no it doesn't support 5g
Entonces es gama media pero si supuestamente tiene el mismo procesador del iphone 11 pero no tiene el 5g no es recomendable
Only Apple can do these things !!
However, in my opinion, he wanted to do good for the environment, recycling his iPhone 8 ... Good Apple!
True but it can be looked at both ways. They make a lot more money this way as well by reusing the same design and parts and re releasing a phone down the line. However this also does make it much more affordable for people to buy as well and a good design I believe can't be overlooked. Looks? Good. Works? Good. Price? Good. :)
3/10
can't believe people buy this piece of trash in 2020 !
Pathetic, Apple using the same camera from several years ago, so cheap just to save a buck.
This is basically iphone 8 with dual sim and $50 less...... no body was buying iphone 8 at $450..... not sure why they should buy it at $400.......
but this one has the a13 chip so it's actually way better
A13 Bionic, a little bit better camera (because of the A13), faster wire charging at 18W instead of 15W, *longer* *software* *support* and more... It is not the same as the iPhone 8
can u upgrade the battery?
