The color variations for most of these days are endless, however I'm also a traditionalist when tying flies as well. I've learned so much from you Davy Mcphail, thank you for all your videos
This is such a good pattern! I would think you could tie it much larger for Steelhead. That purple fibre tail just sets off nicely! I think a person could add a blue tail as well as Chartreuse and maybe a bit of sparkle in one or two of them. A really nice pattern to be in your fly box!!!
Brill tying as usual, and beautiful colour harmonies! I still have a spool of the 'old/antique gold' Lurex, but not sure if it's still obtainable.Copper tinsel/mylar would look nice though. Best wishes, Alan
Hi Davie, brilliant fly as per usual. I'm open to correction but I think that the original dressing was by a fellow Corkman. Cork is affectionately (or not) known as the Rebel County". Looking forward to lots of new flies from that magical bench in Ayr. Cheers, Donie, Cork City.
Davie, another wonderful tie. I've seen some of your fully dressed classic salmon flies. Have you ever thought of making a video series of how to tie a fully dressed salmon fly? Or would it be too long?
Hi Davie, I certainly wouldn't be bored and would greatly appreciate it! I just can't get the wing or topping right on a Jock Scott. My crests just dont have that cascading effect and my wings come apart. If you have any hints or tips you can share with me i would be very very greatful. Many Thanks... Best Regards, ~David
Hi Davie Great looking fly. what other colors do you tie it in? Or any other variants do you tie it in? I know we talked about it before but I would love to see a series on a fully dressed classic salmon fly. Or a more simple one either way I could watch it over and over. Thanks for the Great Videos Chane
Hello DAvie, Is this pattern for trout? At least I would use it for seatrout and as general fly for trout. Do you have tips for tying a wing from turkey feathers? If there is an video for tying a nice wing from turkey I would like to see it. Tight lines and best Regards.

Davie. After watching, I tied a few of these and recently had success with wild Brownies up north, so thanks for sharing!
