This is my 90's LORD OF THE RINGS - Teaser Trailer | Mel Gibson, Sean Connery | Retro AI Concept that in this concept would've come out somewhere in the early 90's starring Mel Gibson, Sean Connery and many more and I portrayed this video through "A.I." what it could look like if they made an A/B list hollywood cast. Sir Connery actually turned the role down. I think Mr Swayze would have loved to have played Legolas. For a future AI concept? I suggest an M2 trailer. Featuring Spider-Girl, J2, Fantastic 5, etc.

Pretty good. I wonder if aging actors are selling the rights for future movies to be made with their younger selves and what the laws are. LOTR movies were very good, but they can be improved upon. I'd like to see new episodes of Star Trek TNG with the way the actors looked in the early 90's. Eventually we will probably see these things.

I never felt like McKellen was a threat as Gandalf, even though he was as magneto. His Bondness would've aced that character.

Indeed David Bowie really wanted to play Elrond, also it was Christopher Lee's life long dream to play Gandalf, but in the end he did the most incredible portrayal of Gandalf's alter ego Saruman.
That first shot of bombadill looked like Kurt Russell!!! But Robin as Tom bombadill would have been undeniable!!!

Sean Connery was actually offered the role of Gandalf by Peter Jackson. He could have got around 30 million dollars plus a 10% profit. Would have made around 450 million. He didn't understand the script.
The script thing is bs though. He didn't want to lock himself up in New Zealand for a year to shoot three films back to back. But I think we both agree that, whatever the reason, he chose poorly...
But he understands the script of Zardoz!

Wtf are you talking about, Ian Mckellen played the perfect Gandalf. A friendly old men that could switch to serious any second and a more distant Gandalf when he became White. I really doubt macho men Connery would have done a better job.

It's not a mystery. The movies were already way long and Tom didn't add to the plot really. Also Fran said how could you make the One Ring so addictive and controlling if there was one character who wasn't affected by it? Tenna Ento Lly Omenta.
@@jimmieglass3744 Tolkien was given access to sensitive history texts in the basement of the Bodleian library at Oxford which inspired him to write LOTR, an apparent fictional echo of whatever info he became privvy to. These histories remain sequestered away from public view for whatever reason even to this day.
Tom Bombadil's character figured prominently into that even though Tolkien's inclusion of him was vague & sporadic.

The Peter Jackson cast is perfect and don't think I would prefer any other cast but I love the David Bowie / Jennifer Connolly casting idea simply because it's a Labyrinth reunion.
There's no way this movie could have been made. Casting some of these top tier actors would have blown the budget.
And to get all of them to agree would have been tough. Safe to say the casting would have lead to a very underwhelming story and direction

I have never had a stronger or more visceral uncanny valley reaction than when I watched this video.
I don’t believe for a moment that Depp or Cruise would accept roles with so little screen time, but the choices were excellent.

Said he read the books, read the script and didn’t get the point of the whole thing. Then he was asked again a decade later and he said he read the books again, watched all three movies and still didn’t understand the film so he had zero regrets turning down the money as he wouldn’t have done it justice. You’ve got to respect that

Some of these castings where actually not so far off what could have happend. Sean Connery was offered the role as Gandalf but turned ut down cause he didn't get the plot. Jake Gyllenhall actually auditioned for Frodo and believe it or not, David Bowie was connected to the role of Elrond and even met with Peter Jackson
Not to say Sir. Christopher Lee didnt absolutely nail Saruman, but Richard Harris at full blast would have been a terrifying Saruman.
In 90s Lotr would be as good.
That's crazy, before the cast for the first LOTR movie was revealed, I genuinely had the image of Sean Connery as Gandalf in my mind when reading the books.
Loved Robin Williams, Jack Black, Sean Connery, Christopher Walken and most of all the one and only David Bowie. Nice work. Still best casting was a real one.

Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings is already a 90s movie. It started filming in 1999.
All I can say is wow! I am 60 and yes I could see Lord Of The Rings with these actors. Sad that only AI can show us this, but I am really impressed at the concept. Well done.

I find it funny that Frodo’s role is portrayed by an actor who is the same age as the actor who played Frodo in the real trilogy. Jake Gyllenhaal is only 40 days older than Elijah Wood 😅
In my mind this would have been made in early to mid 90s. So Gyllenhaal wouldn’t have been cast as Frodo, and Jack Black was a 20 something unknown actor back then. Maybe Brendan Fraser could have been Frodo. Or heck, River Phoenix.
Young Philip Seymour Hoffman is my choice for the role of Sam Gamgi. Other than that I find most of the choices great! Thanks for a fun video 🙏🏼
