This is one of THE GREATEST BAND in the world, though teh artist come an d go, but CHICAGO still exist no matter what the problem is, the can survive till the end of their time has come, salute....greeting from Jakarta
though missing the voice of peter cetera ... but still a great one .... those were songs and words not the rubbish we are hearing today .... thanks for the publisher
I commented that this was currently my favorite version of this song..: THAT said; the brass in the intro sounds like a fart-choir..and what in the world is the percussionist trying to conjure!? ..it cracks me up!
What was Robert adjusting in the beginning of this song? I really like Neil singing this song. Great seeing everyone there- happy and healthy- including Jimmy, Lee, Robert, Brian, Brett, Neil and the others.
I like this version.. And as for the comment of those who prefer Peter Cetera in this as the originsl singer..if this were the original singer/version I'm sure they'd be leaving the same comments, sometimes you will always prefer the first version you hear. But I think this version rocks (literally) so right now it my prefered version!.;-)
I love this comment section saying this is terrible with no explanation. Tell me why this is bad, because musically it's very impressive, and this lineup is fken amazing. If Peter were standing there you'd love it.
The singer good sounds like karaoke its too bad jason scheff had to leave this band needs to hang it up love them but they dont even sound that good any more
@@Rylan101 I just saw Jason live last year with his new group generation radio they sang this sing and it sounded great plus they did the original studio version which chicago never does anymore to me this sounds more like the classic song I know and love the first note is the only one Jason misses after that the rest of the song is 10/10 ua-cam.com/video/yTHLUMHAnuI/v-deo.html
Hola x favor alguien m podra decir el nombre del vocalista es q no lo puedo creeer q sea Peter Cetera no logro saver quien es o si es nuevo en la macro Banda pues ya lo vi en los nuevos videos d navidad q subio Chicago a su pagina
Stephen G He left at the beginning of 2018 due to the overwhelming touring schedule, guess he got more than he bargained for, I really miss him, he sounds closer to Cetera, especially on the old stuff, Neil Donnell is ok, but he doesn’t play an instrument, I guess it’s taking time to get used to a non instrumental member, he’s ok though.
For the people commenting here that he is not Peter Cetera, well maybe not in the 80's, but if you've heard Cetera now in 2020, let me tell you that his voice is SHOT and bad in the higher registers, he has to mask it with A LOT of tricks... So is he like Peter Cetera? Well in 2020 he is more like Peter Cetera than Peter Cetera is right now... This video is from 2017, keep in mind he is worse now: ua-cam.com/video/BWSjgM8Oa_I/v-deo.html
Wow, Neil Donell is AMAZING when singing with Chicago! Not to mention, his voice sounds absolutely NOTHING like the musical theater-type voice with which he sang "Shining Time" in Thomas and the Magic Railroad, which just speaks volumes of his incredible range.
The horn section adds nothing to this once beautiful ballad. Overkill. I’ve been a Chicago fan most of my life and love the horn accompaniment on certain ballads such as Just You and Me, but I don’t get the need of them here other than giving the guys something to do besides stand around.
Totally disagree. The arrangement for the horns is phenomenal! It adds so much. The guitar solo is great too and of course that was not in the original!
Wow! His vocals are AMAZING!! I still love this band! I do like the original Chicago tho. Terry Kath was the BEST! I loved them when Peter Cetera sang also.
So then stop coming to these videos and complaining. Peter's gone, it's mostly his fault, and tbh I think the horns make this song way better... Though the best part is by far Keith's solo, which is also not in the original.
@@tuckerlane7995 wrong it's mostly Chicago's fault for not giving him the deal Phil Collins had with Genesis. All of us have suffered for their jealousy.
Michelle C-I and I agree completely get rid of the horns on This song have the other members lee, & jimmy play keys and the guy who took Walt’s touring spot play guitar
He's a pretty good singer, actually. Actually better than Scheff. I always never liked Scheff's singing style. He couldn't fill Cetera's shoes and didn't make the proper modifications to the songs to accommodate his style of singing. Sounds like they did with Neil Donell and it works much better for him. The edge Scheff has is his original recordings from Chicago 18 (Will You Still Love me, etc) and Chicago 19 and that he plays bass (Extremely well) at the same time. The band is all over the place though. Lou Pardini tries too hard to sound like Bill Champlin that it's annoying. Walt Parazaider is still listed as in the band but doesn't do anything with them anymore. Robert Lamm always looks like he's just there and is just counting the days til he retires. The only members who seem to really enjoy being there are Pankow and Loughnane. At least they're original members who still keep it goin but yeah, it's so different now they ARE basically a cover band now.
The Russians are a better cover band now! Leonid and Friends. :) I do respect Chicago for staying around for 52 years though. That's impressive. Pardini and Howland go back to '95 so like Champlin they have some history, and with Pankow, Loughnane, Parazaider and Lamm being the original four, there's still that unbroken lineage to 1969. Unlike Toto, who has struggled a bit...
Not bad at all. Really good voice. But its not peter cetera . This becomes more like good cover song. Must be frustrating to compete with the original Singer. Forever carved in to the memory of everyone that has heard this song over years .
Explain... Otherwise I'm sticking with this is amazing. Keith's guitar solo is perfect and Neil's vocals are amazing. The horn parts Jimmy wrote in made the song a million times better.
Awww does baby boomer want a time machine? Band members leave, get old, sounds change, get over it. There's no denying that 70s Chicago will be the best, but some things cannot last forever in a time capsule. You toxic Chicago fan traditionalists need to accept change or just leave.
Wonder why Chicago waited so long to use backing tracks with stacked vocals? It would have done them good about 25 years ago when their singers stopped being able to cut it LIVE. It's obvious that Donnell has a tuner on his voice, shame they didn't do that for Scheff.
Scheff was good in the '80s, really through the mid-2000s and then I've heard he went downhill. I loved Jeff Coffey though; he could hit the high notes.
Now that SHE's back in my life, this new version of this great song has all new meaning.

I loved the original Chicago, but WOW, he's got great vocals for his age 👌
And you wouldn't even recognize him as the guy who sang "Shining Time" in Thomas and the Magic Railroad
I agree. Peter Cetera will always be my favorite version of Chicago singing this song, but this guy is VERY good too
Its the best Chicago line up since Peter Cetera left. At last they have found someone who can do the vocals as good as Cetera. Great work.
I Agree
