    There were quite a few options for number 5 on this list. I may have chosen the Sauroposeidon out of biased in all honesty (Its a cool Titanosaur). What Dinosaurs do you wish had made this list?

      Velociraptor as they were huge (not talking about the velociraptors in Jurassic World/Park as we know they weren’t really that size that’s closer to the size of a Utah raptor) much bigger and heavier than any of these titanosaurs

    It's sad that the Fossils for Maraapunisaurus got lost. Just the idea that all the evidence that a species exsisted can just, vanish is dishartening.

    Ironically most media still doesn't depict these beasts as the gigantic, dominant, and majestic beasts they actually are. These days they're treated as fodder to the most recent hyper carnivore in films when in the truth these guys would have scared the skeletons off of even the largest and more ferocious theropod carnivores.

    • @Paleofactus

      Well said! I agree, and I like the term 'scare the skeletons off ' I may steal that for one of my videos.

      A full grown adult from those sauropods genus would've definitly been untouchable by any predator if of course the theory of large carcharodontosauridae pack hunting is just a fantasy

    Argentinosaurus, puertasaurus and maraapunisaurus were the top 3 heaviest sauropods my opinion. Based on their vertebrae.

    "Behold, Behemoth, which I made as I made you; he eats grass like an ox. Behold, his strength in his loins, and his power in the muscles of his belly. He makes his tail stiff like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are knit together. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like bars of iron."

    • @vansnakenstein5149
      @vansnakenstein5149 2 місяці тому

      It’s laughable that creationists insist that’s a reference to a sauropod. Imagine trying to describe one of these dinosaurs without mentioning the neck, their most characteristic feature 😂

    • @vansnakenstein5149
      @vansnakenstein5149 2 місяці тому +1

      Also worth mentioning, that’s a horrible translation. The “tail” should be his [male appendage], and “sinews of his thighs” is what hangs below that. The passage is just the author in awe of the virility of a wild ox.

    Why were all of these giants quickly downsized?

  • @notmyrealchannel559
    @notmyrealchannel559 Рік тому +1

    there is also the North American Titanosaur that lived and went extinct with T Rex which is the same size as Argentinosaurus, but it is 5 tons heavier, which is the Alamosaurus which measure 100 ft long, and weighed 75-80 tons and since biology measure largest as most heaviest, which makes sense on why Blue whale is the largest animal to inhabit earth, Alamosaurus should be the biggest according to biology.

    If this list was 1-100 largest sauropods, where would the dreadnaughtus fit on this scale?

    • @Paleofactus
      @Paleofactus  Рік тому

      If I remember correctly, dreadnaughtus was very almost on this list, it arguably could have been depending on how you define "largest" but I wanted to get an array of different definitions of largest in there. I'd say it's definitely in the top 10. I'm sure I will remake this video one day with a more up to date style and dreadnaughtus will certainly make the cut. Thanks for the question, buddy.

    Supersaurus was actually the longest dino ever at 42m. However this list is not correct. Maraapunisaurus, ok! Argentinosaurus and patagotitan, for sure! But is missing 2 giants at least: alamosaurus and puertasaurus
