  • The amazing B-side track to the "Always" single, originally released in this instrumental version and then later showing up with a vocal version. I decided to make a version to cover both mixes, identical in visual content and differing only in audio content. It's such a sad melancholy piece, yet lushly orchestrated and easily one of my favorite Erasure tracks. The cadence always reminded me of a waltz and so this is the theme I went for.
To give fair recognition of the footage I used in this video, some of it was taken from André Rieu performing Johann Strauss' 'Emperor Waltz' (Kaiser-Walzer) live in Maastricht 2012 specifically from the DVD "HAPPY BIRTHDAY! A celebration of 25 years of the Johann Strauss Orchestra". BMI - Broadcast Music Inc., Sony Music Publishing, UNIAO BRASILEIRA DE EDITORAS DE MUSICA - UBEM, SODRAC, Polaris Hub AB, LatinAutorPerf, UMPG Publishing, and 6 Music Rights Societies. Additional footage was taken from André Rieu & His Johann Strauss Orchestra performing Schatzwalzer, from the DVD 'Live in Vienna'. © 2021 -- André Rieu Productions, UMG (on behalf of Savoy); LatinAutorPerf, ASCAP, Warner Chappell, SODRAC, Polaris Hub AB, UMPG Publishing, and 5 Music Rights Societies. There’s also 2 wee snips of Erasure performing on Later with Jools Holland, season 3, episode 3 from 21 May 1994. ©1994 BBC Studios UK.
    As for the music:

Besides, I’m just a fan making ZERO money off these videos. I have refused to monetize my channel, because as a fan I refuse to make money off artists I respect and admire. I simply make these videos to share songs that I truly love, especially remixes, B-sides, and album tracks that have no official videos. UA-cam has even blocked me from monetizing and instead THEY make money off me by putting ads in the videos.

I’ve literally spent the last 20 years on and off trying to identify this song. Thank you for posting it! Long ago my brother had it recorded on cassette but I never knew the name or artist. I speculated that it was Erasure from the sound of it but until now every search for an instrumental song of theirs came up empty handed.

Chris, I've also done an identical video for the version of the song that has vocals. I loved both and so I did it both ways. Glad I was able to help!

A wonderful video to one of my favourite b-sides. I prefer the instrumental version to the vocal. Thanks for posting :)
