    Great video, when I'm catching them like that I'll bring him to the house and the boys and I take some mayonnaise and some soy sauce and mix it up to the color of a copper penny will put them on the grill and based on the meat side until they're done, nothing like the kissed applewood smoked fish on the grill. I learned that recipe from Red Holland.

      @@FishYanker I’m gonna try it I don’t have any luck fishing and never used minnows before. I’ve only gone fishing couple times but I do like it. My goal was to go salmon fishing and catch a big one. I definitely am not strong enough to pull by myself sometimes they can be 25 or up I heard

    • @FishYanker
      @FishYanker  Рік тому

      Wow! that would be a awesome fish to fight. From my experience. Big lures catch more big fish. You can catch big fish on small lures but not as often as the bigger ones. That includes live bait and artificial lures

    On those beetle spins that you upgrade, are you using the #2 sized willow leaf blade most of the time?
    I was going to order some golf willow leaf blades but hadn’t decided if I wanted to go with #1 or #2 size blades.
    I feel like 1 could be better for smaller bream sized fish and 2 would be better for crappie.

    • @FishYanker
      @FishYanker  Рік тому

      When the fish are pretty active, I prefer #2 but I also use #1 especially in the fall in early spring. What's good about the bigger one is. It has a lot of resistance when it falls. so when you're pulling it and then you stop and let it fall, it's real slow to fall with that big blade.

      He is actually doing the right thing because it's other big fish that could bite his jig and snap the line like bass, catfish, gar, etc.

    • @FishYanker
      @FishYanker  Рік тому +3

      I mainly have to leave my drag lose because of my hook set. I used to bass fish all the time and my hook set is too hard and I have not been able to control it. LoL 😂
