Great video, when I'm catching them like that I'll bring him to the house and the boys and I take some mayonnaise and some soy sauce and mix it up to the color of a copper penny will put them on the grill and based on the meat side until they're done, nothing like the kissed applewood smoked fish on the grill. I learned that recipe from Red Holland.
New to your channel Yanker...let me just say: it shore does my heart good to see a feller actually KEEPING some of the nice crappie they catch! Way to go man. I'm painfully envious and at the same time real happy for ya....dang those were some slabs. Liked and subscribed. Great video man
Thank you. I appreciate your that. I'm glad you are enjoying the channel and subscribed. There's a whole lot more videos. I'm still trying to organize my playlists. Thank you for watching Scott McMaster
I Really Enjoy Your Pleasant Educative Video. You have a The Right Attitude For Explaining Simple Fishing Techniques!…For Starter Rookies Like Me. Wow 😮 What a Nice Quiet Surreal Fishing Spot!! Thanks for Sharing.
Thank you. I'm trying to share some of the tips and techniques I have learned over the year's in hopes to help others catch more fish. Love fishing in the swamps, so pretty and peaceful.
I'm new to your channel. Lovin' watchin' you catch those sacalait! I lived in Ark as a kid and fished Lake Nimrod with my Dad. Im in Texas now as a retiree and fish Lake of The Pines and Caddo regularly. God bless you! Hook & Hold brother Fish Yanker!
Yes nimrods loaded with crappie. And I've heard some pretty good stories about lake of the pines and the Caddo. Sounds like you still are in some good fishing areas. God bless you too Mark
I have guys in Louisiana that watch the channel and they wear them out on this combo. I have a UA-camr friend in Nebraska catches with the Beetle spin also. It should work really good in Florida with them specs y'all got down there. You have some beautiful crappie down there for sure. Try a few different places before you give up. Good luck and I hope you catch some good ones Lewis
YANK!! Man what a day of fishing! Those are about the right size for eating. Don’t believe I have ever seen so many that thick. Of course I’ve saw some but not like the ones you been catching. Almost everyone is thick. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
@@FishYanker I’m gonna try it I don’t have any luck fishing and never used minnows before. I’ve only gone fishing couple times but I do like it. My goal was to go salmon fishing and catch a big one. I definitely am not strong enough to pull by myself sometimes they can be 25 or up I heard
Wow! that would be a awesome fish to fight. From my experience. Big lures catch more big fish. You can catch big fish on small lures but not as often as the bigger ones. That includes live bait and artificial lures
Crappie bite at certain times of the day. So you want to try good crappie areas different times through the day. One of my best times is between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.
On those beetle spins that you upgrade, are you using the #2 sized willow leaf blade most of the time? I was going to order some golf willow leaf blades but hadn’t decided if I wanted to go with #1 or #2 size blades. I feel like 1 could be better for smaller bream sized fish and 2 would be better for crappie.
When the fish are pretty active, I prefer #2 but I also use #1 especially in the fall in early spring. What's good about the bigger one is. It has a lot of resistance when it falls. so when you're pulling it and then you stop and let it fall, it's real slow to fall with that big blade.
I mainly have to leave my drag lose because of my hook set. I used to bass fish all the time and my hook set is too hard and I have not been able to control it. LoL 😂
Smacked the fish and the snake 😂😂😂. Awesome lesson and demo. Thanks as always!
That snake was right beside the boat for a long time before I ever seen it. Thank you, appreciate you watching.
Liked the video a lot. That’s a great place to fish. Thanks for showing us your cadence
Yes sir thank you
I’ve never seen anyone hook a minnow upside down. But it clearly works.
It makes it look like it's wounded. Easy target

That sounds pretty good I will save this recipe thank you.

Dang man..now THAT is a beautiful swamp!
Thank you.
Never thought of putting a live minnow on my beatle spin. I'll definitely try it 👍
it works in a lot of places too. I fish a bunch of different lakes all year long with the beetle spin Bobby Garland jig and a live minnow.
@@FishYanker I'm by lake Meredith in Texas an I caught alot on beatle spins, bet i catch alot more now. The whole family thanks you ! 👍🎉
Yes sir. Let me know how it goes. Hope you catch some good ones.
I watched a lot of your videos and man I want to fish with you some day. You go to some of gods beautiful land.
If I ever get rid of my day job, I'm going to set up something where we can fish with a viewer now and then. Definitely will be fun 😊

Yes sir it was a good day thank you Proud Papaw. appreciate you watching
Nice fish. Do you ever let anyone tag along?
Oh yeah. Most of the time people are working when I go. I like fishing on week days most of the time. It's a lot less crowded.
Yeah I do my fishing during the week too
Where are you getting the intro music from
Creator music. You can go down at the bottom of the description box and you will see the song name and music creator.
Great video. Reminds me of a few of the places I fish. How deep is that area you’re fishing?
Thank you. 4 to 7 ft in most places.
What do you use for bait I guess minnow?
I use a beetle spin with a bobby Garland jig and live minnow all together as one lure. Catch lots of crappie all summer on this combo.

How long did you go fishing for? I want to try catching crappie but I don’t know how long I should be waiting.
Crappie bite at certain times of the day. So you want to try good crappie areas different times through the day. One of my best times is between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.
Where is this located
Cashe River swamps Arkansas
Do you snag much?
Are you talking about snagging big catfish at the dams?
@@FishYanker I'm talking about snagging logs with the beetle spin. I like your technique but am curious about how often you hangup .
I hang up a little bit. I try to pay attention to the depth and just go above the structure most of the time.

Man lock down your drag your not going to loose a fish because you don't horse your fish. Your drag is really loose💯💯💯💯💯👍🏾
He is actually doing the right thing because it's other big fish that could bite his jig and snap the line like bass, catfish, gar, etc.
I mainly have to leave my drag lose because of my hook set. I used to bass fish all the time and my hook set is too hard and I have not been able to control it. LoL 😂
