  • While reckless road users often adopt a considerate attitude when passing one of our marked Traffic Services vehicles, trying to identify our unmarked Ghost Squad vehicles is a needle in a haystack.
Sadly for this one taxi driver who attempted to push one of our officers off the road, today was not going to end well when officers discovered the taxi was unlicensed as well as himself not having a license.

Traffic officers are the Road Angels that collaborate to see us all Arrive Alive. The way some people drive, is really in deficit. Some leave home, apparently with a death wish.

Law and order needs to be enforced heavy in our country. Another driver nearly cause an accident in Johannesburg N1 S. I was on a fast lane taking my kids to school. Being trained as a defensive driver and having instructed on such. I used the fast lane because judgement I've made looking at the traffic patterns always keeping a following distance the lane in that moment was a correct lane I've picked. This person tailgated me to a point he managed to go in front and quickly hit dead-break right in front of me while I am doing 120ph.
Tailgating- often regarded as a form of aggressive driving behavior. In South Africa, with the high prevalence of road rage, tailgating might contribute towards retaliation by other drivers and initiate instances of road rage AA came up with these findings not me. Not only that this is why many bumper bashing in South Africa occurs when its raining and many speed related accidents. When you are following too close there's so many things you are not aware happening right in front of you far ahead in the road. Following too close block your vision and you cannot study traffic patterns and road surface. The way we drive in this country it is luck many make it home alive.
Adequate following distances enable drivers to adjust in emergency situations and bring their vehicles to a stop safely - time that could mean the difference between life and death. Remember It takes less half of a second to react to do anything in a car moving at a speed of 120ph this is apart from taking that car into stop.
