Here's What's New In The Refreshed BMW 3 Series M340I

- The BMW 3 series received a refresh for the 2023 model year and in this video I've got a M340i trim to detail out exactly what's changed.
So the BMW 3 series has been around for roughly 5 decades now and is the benchmark if you want a sporty 4 door car. So BMW has been following their LCI cadence to a T and did so again with this generation. They've revised the exterior, interior, and also tinkered with the engine to make it somewhat different, more on that in the video
The M340I is of course the trim that slots in between the 330i and the M3 and is supposed to provide the best daily experience while also blending in a lot more sportiness versus the 330i. So does it do that and how do all of the changes BMW gave to the 3 series blend in? Im going to explain all that in this video.
Thanks for watching!

What do you think of the refreshed 3 Series?
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!! 👑🇯🇲🔥💥🌟⭐💯💎
recall it!
I think they're great performance sedan and a true sleeper. I had a loaner(pre-LCI) for one day when my G82 M4C was getting a new set of tires.
We just got my wife a 2024 M340I rear wheel drive a few months ago. I had it for a weekend while she was out of town and I am very impressed with the car. It is super quick handles well has great tech. You can literally drive this car at 100 plus miles and hour on the highway and not ever miss a beat. Only wish we got the HUD option but no dealer had one with a HUD so we settled for one without. Out the door we paid 55K with discounts not bad for what you get with this car. My wife has been driving BMW for years the only cars she likes IMO it's a steal at that price point and they respond to mods very well.
One of the best sports sedans on the market now.
Very well balanced and amazing machine. The engine is a masterpiece.
The Adaptive Dampers are a must and at $500 it's a bargain.
Nice review, thanks
Turbo charged, inline 6? BMW is back, baby!
Love it so much I ordered one a few months ago. I pick it up in a few days :)
Congrats! Great car
Lookin to buy one how much did you oat not sure if I should buy new or used since they deapreciate quick
Congrats I can’t afford new one but I may get 2020 or 2021 in next months just waiting on some money but I might either get the few years old m340 or cla45 but cla45 in Canada prices are disgusting even used selling for over 70k with over 40k km
For the money m340 used for 50k is much much cheaper and basically getting same power and still luxury
Something about this car it’s compact it’s reliable it’s nice fast comfortable I mean it’s full package
Just the prices in Canada are out of this world now days dealers over pricing cars and no one buying they have tons of cars sitting on the lot but yet still using the old scam to increase prices and over price cars
My eye on this car though for long time I love the new inside but don’t have the money for it new one is 70k or more
This would be also nice with little tuning
Great video
I like the heavy steering, it feels stable, you don't have to keep moving it to keep the car straight. Almost perfect daily car.
Then you'll like the m340
Damn. Can't believe you got this review out so early..
I got this with every option except brake cooling and adaptive suspension....I wonder what i missed out on with adaptive suspension.
Thanks for your review, especially the steering feedback. A $65,000 car and people not spending $550 for adaptive suspension boggles the mind.
100%
Can you expand on why you think it’s really necessary. Mine is set to go into production soon and idk if I should add it as the only thing I would like is for it to drive softer in comfort. I don’t care if it is more stiff no need on my end
Just question does this sound louder then the old one 2022 or 2021
excellent review 👍
if you want to spend about 60k for a daily car
will you buy the M340i or Macan s
Well if you want new the m340i is available for 60k but the Macan S starts at around 70 without option. But they're two different cars. For me personally I would go with the m340i. But if you need more space or want an suv, the Macan is an amazing car.
@DriveSteady 👍
it will be great if review BMW M550
your reviews are awesome 👌
I have a 2021 m340xi and it is a mild hybrid; that’s not a change for 2023.
I wonder if the EU version sounds the same
Great review what do you think of the 330 with MSport pkg ? I drive a 2011 328 coupe with 261,000 kms great car looking to change it for an M340 or 330 w/m pkg
I haven't driven the 330I but the m340 is great. Very sport driving dynamics.
Do you find the ride is comfortable without the adaptive suspension in comfort mode?
@johnspagnoli482 yes, it's pretty good. But if comfort is most important, test drive the new c class, I would say that is a little more comfortable.
@@DriveSteadyI think that’s pretty typical of both brand identities. Merc is about comfort. BMW is more tailored for the driver enthusiast.
Who scratched it @0:13 😢
Interesting color, has some green in it?
It's the optional gray color but yes it does have some hint of green
Definitely the 2022 ,is the last of the proper screen and buttons .
New screen is awesome. Bravo BMW!
Yea I can't stand the new idrive screen setup. It's just a massive rectangle in front of you. Kills the dash for me.
I know mulholand drive when I see it:)
Yup
The sad part is that all pops and crackles you hear are actually coming from the speakers. There are many videos on youtube exposing this. When you turn off "iconic sounds" the pops and crackles from speakers get disabled.
Yup I noticed that too!
And they sound great too! Brilliant move by BMW.
Pops and crackles in the exhaust are often the result of unburned fuel igniting in the hot exhaust system. This is actually a good move from BMW which saves you gas but still gives you an almost as good experience. You can still tune the ECU if you want the engine to produce pops and crackles tho. I’ve driven one and the pops and crackles coming from the speakers are pretty good honestly, I can’t really tell the difference 🤷♂️
@@lnursalim "Pops and crackles" from speakers are the future. When all vehicles turn into rolling refrigerators, we will be playing sound of wind and tire noise to bring us comfort.
@@xFlaredLOL
If they going to obligate us to us the screen. Why no make it finger print proof.
the design engineers need to keep the speedometer compartment like before .
The refresh was a big mistake and many missing features from the non refresh. BMW is aware of it and.Changes are coming in 2025
What features are missing on the LCI?
Where to begin. Many interior led lights that were in the non lci are gone. Laser headlight option.. a must have. Hot keys a great feature, sport shift lever, No puddle lights.. they were nice because you could add bmw or m sport projectors. fog lights, trunk cubby hole cargo nets, No hidden compartment below headlight controls.. that was nice as well. No gesture control that is really handy, some knobs on dash no longer are lighted, power seat bolsters And many many more things not listed here but you can find the full run down on bimmer post. Basically the car got striped down for 2023 all in the means of a profit margin Once you see one with all this in and then see the lci.. it makes a big difference when stuff like this is missing.....The lci sucks bottom line!@@Progamer8012
Way to be specific 👏
I want to drive car but dont want Xbox or PlayStation displays in car. Tehnology is not going in right direction. it loses all sense of what it originally should be.
Of course, the young generation dictates the demand, but they lose the feeling and want things that are not essential in driving.
you are 1 year late with this vid bruh xD
