What i like about pon is you can use it over and over. I love using pon i have all my philodendrons in it. Great job for the pots. A great way to save money thankyou for sharing this great craft
You need to place the holes in the baster at the bottom. Once the level in the pot falls below the holes, the water in the baster is trapped and no longer reflects the level in the pot. You could siphon all of the water out of the pot and the float in the baster would still be at the bottom of the holes.
Great ideas and hacks to save money. Thanks for sharing Don’t you flush your pots? I am getting ready to switch a lot of my Hoyas to PON and during my research I’ve heard that the media need to be flushed from time to time.
Hi 💫 Your method is absolutely brilliant. I’m using no drainage with Pon (I’m over soil and the gnats) and it’s a tricky curve to learn. Are these still working well for you ? Have a Blessed week. 🙏🏻💫
That is amazing! I don't use Pon but I do use leca for propagating sometimes so the self watering gauges are something I am going to try for sure. As far as the nutrients I don't think it matters whether it's for use with LECA the measurements are probably the same either way since neither media holds nutrients. I think anyway 💚
So many great ideas! I was looking at those net pots on Amazon last night. 😄 So glad you showed how well they fit! I've only planted a few things in pon so far, and always use net pots with a cover pot. I assumed I had to (use net pots), I didn't think I could just put it into a pot like soil (I thought it needed the air circulation). So this is good to see! Thanks.
So glad I found your channel, your videos are great. Just getting started on the Pon journey and I do find it a bit confusing so your videos are golden. Thank you!
Nice find with the fishing float and the shot glass test tube!!! Well done. 1 question... I love the ceramic pots with the floats... but how will you deal with the salt build up over time? Flushing them with no drainage seems tricky. Would you just repot them?
Yes, I did think about that, I will probably just repot. It may require some modification., although some people do use pon like soil so I guess it's a work in progress 💚
I really hope your hoya will be okay. I always have to cut the roots, re root in leca and then transfer to pon. I've killed a few hoyas by transferring them straight from soil to pon
New sub here from Spokane Valley Wa 😊what mix are you using for the semi hydroponic oh wow i have like 10 of those test tubes,as i ordered the wrong size 😊
Another alternative to using hot glue is using 100% silicone caulking. The only downside is you have to wait for it to dry before exposing it to water.
💚💚💚As a new pon user and almost killing my plants I can't thank you enough for sharing all this. Happy New Year. 🎊🍾
I'm so glad you found it helpful 💚
I've watched 👀 😅 many,many times...trying to memorize the process...thanks...you are a genius 👌 🥰

So far so good, some of them had a readjustment period but they are all doing good.now..💚
💚
Does it get root rot because it does not half release water hole at the bottom or side
Brilliant 💚

It's homemade pon, I'll link the video. So easy and my version is inexpensive

I was wondering if calk might be better, cause it can withstand water better.
Possibly, I guess time will tell.💚
