The fact that you havent listened to Everchanger (their album before Stillworld) is deeply upsetting. It is easily in my top 3 favorite albums. They have definitely grown since then (they wrote that album in highschool/early college) but its a banger.

Loved everything they're put out honestly, their first couple albums a little more with Ben but that's because when he was the vocalist and they had a show in my city, they crashed at my college house after the show and we all played VR, it was pretty dope honestly
I loved that during the story part of the video, every shot contains a subtle blur where the alleged entity is
I just saw them live with ERRA and Silent Planet. I think the names speak for themselves. It was epic

Crazy to think I saw these guys live 6 years ago with their 1st lead vocalist Ben and not knowing who they were at all. Fast Forward to 2023 they're easily in my top 3 favorite metalcore bands along with OAA and Currents.
They were strictly breakdowns with their Waves EP, which is even today goes so hard. This new direction they've taken since then has been an absolute masterpiece of progression. They're one of the best metalcore bands.

It is tiring for sure but at the end of the day, you shouldn't let it bother you, as long as YOU enjoy it and are excited for it then who cares what anyone else thinks, it just does the same thing the other way being hyper defensive towards a band imo. Bruh, Currents and Invent both announce records, Imminence dropping a single next Friday and Erra and Silent Planet have to be gearing something up. That's 5 of my top 10 metalcore bands....I couldn't be more ecstatic :D

@cPolonium nothing confirmed for Erra, Silent Planet or Imminence, but I know that Silent Planet have been playing two new songs live. And the other two haven't released records since 2021, so I'd figure the two year gap is coming to its close

You should definitely check out "Like A Wave" by Afterglow, production quality of that song is incredible. The band is too underrated its absurd.

While you very much have your own voices, I feel like you and Marcus both approach vocals in a similar way. Plus they have that perfect amount of thall without going overboard at the cost of melody.
It upsets me because their music is so good that I don't enjoy other metalcore anymore lmao, there's not any other band out there putting out as high quality material as they have been for the last few years.
Not even Currents? I feel this sentiment but there are still a few exceptions for me, Currents being a top one, and truth be told Deadlights being another, their recent album has some crazy lyricism.
@@unbounder See I liked Currents for a while, I actually found them by seeing them in 2017 at an Oceans Ate Alaska concert, but I loved The Place I Feel Safest. Since then, they've been putting out the same material (with the exception of Remember Me and Vengeance). I want to like them but idk everything sounds the same to me. I feel like metalcore started dying for me when Wage War got popular, because since then everything has become the same generic song. The only bands I'm enjoying other than IA are Sleep Token, Jesus Piece, SYSC, Static Dress, and Northlane.
Check out these bands if you need that techy ambient itch scratched if you don't wanna only listen to Invent Animate all the time

Mine too! They've been AMAZING for me since Marcus joined. Like don't get me wrong, I still live their older stuff, but their music since the release of Greyview has been phenomenal.

Fuck, this was so fucking heavy, I stayed up much later than I planned to just to listen to it live and it absolutely did not disappoint. I heard it was going to be extremely heavy and it delivered. I like it but not as much as Shade Astray and Elysium, probably because it hasn't had time to grow on me.

Kind of felt the same way, I couldn’t really understand the cadence of their songs but after listening a few more times and when the sun sleeps as it never was released, their music has grown on me immensely.
Hard meh, changing cookie cutter djentcore by 5% still makes it 95% cookie cutter djentcore. I don't think the couple songs IA has put out recently really sets them apart.
