love EG me too, kind of (unfortunately) a forgotten name in the jazz world.. also just to point out, I am a huge Eric Gales fan!! 2 Erics, 2 bad asses 🔥
I live in Amsterdam, one night Dizzy was there with his band, for some reason they were free and played in this tiny club. The audience was like 20 people, needless to say everybody had a great time. I remember Ed was playing a Super 400.
Like the telestyle jazzguitars. Did hear Ed Bickert first with Telecaster for jazz. He also get the mellow tone with the right strings and tonepot. Did not hear the so big difference between singelcoil and the humbucker he used the last time. Most in the fingers i thnk.
@@radjet I think also Ed Cherry like Ed Bickert tone. Bickert improvice both with comping and single lines at the same time. He could use some theme from movies and what he has listen to. And used some wonderful sounding cords..
@@Plekteret04 Ed admitted in interviews he never used to play this way. If you watch old videos of Ed with Dizzy, he used to play many, many more notes. Ed told the interviewer"....I don't play like that anymore". Wise move!
The way Ed Bickert played the Tele and the way Ed C plays it are pretty much night and day aren't they? (It's just the same guitar) Yeah Bickert is bad ass... Ed got some dirt in his sound and some pretty good pick attack... cheers man I like the tele style guitars too my favorite. BUT have you seen Chris Flory playing his American Standard strat (instead of the usual/favorite L-7)? similar concept in a way! cheers all
nah this looks like a straight take no edits... "the other guy" do you mean Yotam? His solo was totally killin. I can't fault EC for having any Grant Green shit in there why because his playing is so tasty soulful and in this pocket

I’m jealous, must’ve been an Amazing show. Wish I was there!
@@radjet I could shake Dizzy's hand, too! His lips control was no longer at its top, but I remember a flabbergasting solo on Birk's Work. WHOA...

Haha!

No doubt. These guys are bad cats!
Hmm the other guy was the only complete solo: a lot of Grant Green licks. I had to scroll a bunch to find out who he is... Questionable editing?
No. This is unedited. Exactly as they played it at Zinc.
