Method 4: get your arowana in commtank, yes commtank. I notice that my commtank of SR arowana didn't have Drop eyes at all. Because they are too busy for socializing, but the risk of commtank is a fight, so be prepared and never put different size of arowana in a commtank. Greeting from Indonesia

Thank you. Very useful methods. I will try. I currently wrapped my tank and placed ping pong balls or three weeks already. But sad I can’t see the arowana. I stopped shrimps as well and stuck to pellets for now to see if the fats can be lessened and it will burn the fats that accumulated in the eyes.

Drop eye is such an awful problem. Thank you for this. I always knew to keep food on the top. In the wild they’re always looking up for crickets, frogs, etc. but I didn’t know the other two steps.

Thank you very much before this my water in is at the far left side and air stone at front left..5 days ago I tried your method now water in far left air stone front right works so very well now swimming very well goes up and down and making full use of the tank before half way he turned already.. Now the eye a bit straight already the colour improve a bit may be the mood got better.. I wish I've known this earlier previously I had 1.3 or 1. 4 feet arowana but sold already cheaper than shop price coz drop eye..thank you so very much

I will start all these an make it a ritual for my nee babies since im trying to prevent it in the first place.
Oddly I already use the sneak method for food an all there food floats and I always use sea salt.
My issue it would seem is i need to either to buy a wave maker so the water goes both ways. For now it has been removed and honestly I like the bubbles better it looks nice now there swimming both ways!

Both my arowanas always swim to the front of the tank up and down whenever they see me with the food in my hands. If I were to try and throw it from the top they'll try to jump up towards it. How do you recommend I deal with it?

Hi Sir first thank so much for your tips in curing drop eye arowana. If we keep arowana in tank and quite often of people passing or walking by in front of tank the one of arowana's eyes will keep looking out even i have placed air stone on front right of the tank. ... does the way of feeding on top may help ?

Hi, just sharing what i read and watched. A taiwanese youtube video told that some drop eye problem is also caused by the placement of display/tanning light because fish eye will tend to look away from the bright light. So if the light is placed on top the fish will tend to look down to avoid it. Does this scenario happens to you? thanks ya.

Very very good suggestion. Before, i do all the thing like putting a floating ball, cover newspaper like i saw in this video nothing happen, i think this will work. Around how many sea salt i will put for aquarium with 70 gallon capacity? can i use ordinary rock salt?
Actually , I use rock salt sold in the fish shop. They called it “Sea salt”. Don’t use chemical salt , buy from fish shop. Actually, one handful of salt for 4 ft tank , 1.5-2 handful for 5ft tank. Not really need to put a lot.
Use your hand to grab to measure
The most important part is still to train the habit of your fish to always look for food from top. Don’t let the food sink down.

no. I did not. I only feed fishes, market prawns, superworms and crickets.

not really, I think you need to feed them from top and whenever you feed, lure them from top. Reduce the water stress so that they swim down and try to feed all food together and let it swim down to eat. I normally feed piece by piece. If your fish already got drop eye for long time, it would be difficult to cure. I saved my fish within 4-5 months' time after it got drop eye.

William Lan , place aquarium lights to the back and the front edges. Put the plexiglass mirrors in the middle of the top of the tank. This method will only work on tanks without canopy. You can order plexiglass mirrors from your local Amazon.

Or don’t over feed it, drop eye is also caused by excess fats. Feed your aro once every 2-3 days and don’t over feed it.

Method 1 is completely irrelevant to my case, my tank is not sitting next to a wall so it can see at any direction, and i have never used a blower
Method 2, my arowana always sits at the bottom so its not a problem
The food, i've never shown any food to my arowana, the food i use is superworm if that matters.

it is golden cross back but I think it is kind of sumo arowana. It does not eat much but it grows very fast and fat. :)
