I submitted my resignation letter last week Friday. I am the heart of the organization so it really came as a shock to everyone. My reasons were everything you mentioned
I have had issues with lazy people not getting punished and management putting all the work on me. It has happened a few times . I love how they act surprised when i leave. Its not like i quit out of nowhere i try to work out issues before i do that. Once they stop listening then i have no other option.
@@LeadershipwithMike yeah i should have used the term held accountable. I dont want to see anyone lose their job, but they need to be held to the same standard employers expect of someone who is a hard worker.
Just quit, I was being bullied no stop at my job. Went to manager with documentation. They were gaslight me big time, the women admitted to cussing me out. I was told I was weak for being upset so I quit right then and there. I was done. I'm in healthcare.
My manager told me there were some “tough” people on my team. Smh. That showed me that they are toxic and use “tough” as an excuse for toxic, disrespectful employees which means they don’t care. Sad thing is when you stand up to the foolishness they will gaslight you and try to make it seem like you are the troublemaker. It’s toxic narcissism. I’m still there cuz I got bills to pay but I’m planning my exit strategy.
@@tiffany3319. I was in this situation and I finally got too fed up! I got on Indeed and started putting in applications for what seemed like good jobs that I would like. I also put what hours and shifts I would work. Started getting interviews and calls. I turned down a few positions. After about 3 weeks of putting in applications I finally accepted a job offer that seemed like a good pick with a schedule I liked. As soon as my background cleared, I walked to the office and told my boss I’m putting in my two weeks and they were shocked and tried to talk me out of it. I didn’t even complete the 2 weeks as I had grew tho hate the the toxic environment at the workplace! Anyway I had already secured another job! I’m much happier at my new job now even if I don’t make as much.! You should do the same and your old job is going miss you for all your hard work and dedication. It’s gonna be hard for your old job to keep any good workers because of their corruption. I know. I had to go to my old job to pick up some paperwork and the employees and manager asked me to come back they needed help real bad and we’re shorthanded. But hell no.
@@tiffany3319I I was in the same environment for a long time. I finally got too fed up and went on indeed and put in a lot of applications daily. I only applied for jobs that seemed like good picks for me. 3 jobs interviewed me and I turned them down as I wasn’t satisfied with either the jobs or schedule. After about 3 weeks I accepted a job offer as it seemed like a good job for me and I liked the schedule. As soon as I was told I got the job and my background cleared I walked to the office of my toxic job and told them I’m putting in my 2 weeks notice. They were shocked and tried to talk me out of it. I didn’t even complete the 2 weeks as I couldn’t stand that toxic place a second longer! I’m so much happier at my new job even if I don’t make as much. One day I had to go to my old job ( dreadfully) to pick up some paper work. They thought I was there to ask for my job back! lol! Then they asked me to come back as they were short handed and needed help. I was like hell no! I didn’t even want to step foot in there to pick up the paperwork! Best wishes to you and hope you get outta there and get something better!
Underappreciation and undervalue are two different things. My boss thinks having company hangouts on our off days should make us feel valued and part of the team but I’m not interested in the gossip and capitalizing on my free time. Micromanagers, bosses who manipulate employees into doing extra with no pay, gossip/backbiting, bosses with nothing to teach you… all reasons why good employees walk. They learn your weaknesses and do it better.
@ We never see the moment they get their just deserts. But there's been too many times I've seen people like this move up the ladder. It's really awful.
Quit last month Had enough of the chaos, lack of plan, lack of development, opportunities... Totally demotivated, denoralised. Unsppreciated. Undervalued.
When i start getting micro mannaged i start looking for another job, i get shit done just leave me alone and let me do my job, unless im legitimately doing something illegal or if im pissing off other employees then talk to me about it, im a master in my trade i can negotiate but start micro managing me then im out once the micro management starts the greed kicks in and i dont work for greed
@@HisExcellencyx i hear that man idk what trade you do but im a plumber and i meet more companies obsessed with trying to save money than actually doing things that actually make my job easier and cut my labor down hence SAVING MONEY!!!
As a manager, I make sure my team's happiness at work is the most important. Their work/life balance is top priority. If you work after hours on something, you get those hours back somewhere else. I make sure they have the tools they need to do their job. At weekly staff meetings, any individuals recognition of accomplishments and hard work are brought to the attention of the entire team, and thanked. I make sure they know 100% that I have their back, s**t does not roll down hill from me. Mistakes are not bad, they are learning experiences. Their titles match the job they are doing. And this part is difficult, but with persistence I usually get it done: they are paid what the market values them at, not what the accountants and HR think they should earn.
Yes. However, unless your upper management, your easily replaceable as those below you. Your management style usually reflects those on the top or your fired.
I’m an introvert and have worked at my job for more than 4 years and I have never been promoted. I have never felt appreciated at work and although I may work so hard I am not recognized for my hard work. New employees who come in and barely do their job but only talk have all been promoted because my supervisor favors them also getting paid more that I do and seeing this makes me want to quit all the time. I know I will shine somewhere else and not where my current job is but still it hurts to see this reality.
No bonus, burnt out, was once a star employee but slipped on some tasked due to exhaustion and became the target of anger everyday for 3 weeks from my boss (public humiliation through email, chat and in-person), no rest days anymore = I quit
I just quit my toxic boss. She said to me that she would have fired my coworker and promoted me into her position. She also said she would’ve paid me more than my current company ever could. She was also upset that I only gave her two weeks notice. So thankful I left.
I totally relate to this! I used to work in a kitchen and had to quit due to harassment and constant gossip. But now, I'm working as a labourer at a mine and it's been a total game-changer! The employees are so supportive and kind, always willing to lend a helping hand. I finally feel comfortable and valued at work. Thanks for sharing your story, it's great to know I'm not alone!
In 15 years of my career, I've never worked for a single company that prioritized employee happiness or retention. As someone who is a top performer on my current team, advocating for myself and standing up for myself has only led to disappointment and (literal) trouble. Unfortunately, the managers and companies most in need of this advice are either not looking for this information or they value it so lowly that it never comes to fruition in the real world.
Health care is an industry that is open 24/7/365. For the first time in my career, I am happy because I now have the financial means to work per diem. I had to give up most of my benefits (including health care) to get here. Working per diem, I choose my days/hours I want to work (I'm only required to work one holiday/year now). The job doesn't own me anymore. No amount of signing bonuses or shift differentials will make up for the work life balance and freedom I now enjoy.
I am a nurse. I left my last job due to having a toxic manager. She favored the male nurses at the expense of the females, often defending their poor work performance and getting angry with the women, whenever we pointed this out. So, the number of 45% of nurses leaving their jobs seems correct.
A nurse I worked with a couple of months ago interrupted me telling her that the reason I tried out healthcare was because I was looking to work with caring people to say to me, 'yeah, they'll eat their young'. :(
Thank you, Mike. Great content! As a good employee leaving my current company, I want to add that it is so motivating to hear from a leader "how" your contribution matters, how it impacts the success of the team, why it is important. My manager made the mistake of telling me that certain tasks would be good for my career, but I am the type of person who values success in others more than just my own. She didn't understand me as a person after a year, and thinks everyone values climbing the corporate ladder at any cost. She is not the best listener, so that's probably why she ended up not understanding what I wanted. Leaders, please listen to your people and let your actions prove it!
#1 reason should be wages . Pay your people . Whoever came up with “ Money doesn’t bring happiness “ is full of sht ! Employees that don’t have to worry about money are more productive .
I worked for someone who offered us a bonus for hitting a long list of items one year. As the year went on, we hit goal after goal and it looked like we were on target to get the full $1000 (don’t fall off your chair) bonus. At the end of the year, we were called to a meeting. We assumed that the checks were written, but we were handed our job descriptions and told that we all had to add a task to our job description to get the bonus. They lost a lot of good people that year and irreparably hurt a team that had worked together very well. So toxic!
I quit after for about 2 years being the MVP of the team, the only one in the team that could do many of the complex tasks and fix things if things broke (i work in IT). After having 5hrs of meetings straight, helping other people with their work and meetings with managers, i had my lunch break at 230pm. Meeting at 3pm where i was optional attendee, I said i came to listen only im eating lunch. Constantly asked me questions and 6 people on the call couldnt carry it themselves. I was later told i was "uncommitted" for not being fully available for call. I quit
This is so important to speak up for yourself! As a young woman being outspoken, people so quick to think you have an attitude when clearly they the problem lol. I'm one hella of good one. I noticed from jobs is favortism and mircromanging and trying to make GOOD employees quit.. Don't share your business in workolace neither, dont trust no one.
This number is absolutely right. I’m in healthcare and the work load keeps increasing, no increase in pay, reviews do not reflect your hard work, and the response from my manager is “Stay the course.”
It’s hilarious that so many people think the path to success is being an employee. The majority of businesses are just run by some dude who’s trying to make a buck. Your growth and development isn’t on his agenda at all. This is true at small and big businesses. You need to get skills that you can market directly to the general public and get rid of the managers and business owners that suck up the profits you generate.
Some businesses do develop their people. During covid, my husband worked from home. And I would often stay up late just to eavesdrop on his coachings. First, I did not know he could speak like that. Second, never in my life has anyone coached me like that! WTH? I'd give a lot to have a boss like him. He kicks his people's ass when needed, but IN WHAT MANNER and he teaches and develops. And he says he learnt all of this from his previous bosses as they developed him. He had some pretty incredible leaders.
My boss refused to develop me, so I started developing myself. However, I refused to bring the knowledge I was getting to this company. If I’m not getting paid for it and boss isn’t willing to develop me, I’m keeping the knowledge to myself for a better job. That’s exactly what I did. She knew that me leaving was a big deal because I knew so much. Hopefully she finds a good replacement.
The Worst is when you are assigned a work activity and your acces to do the work consists of having to BEG for the equipment that you are assigned to work on to be released to you. I cant express the frustration.....I get it,production is needed but, assigning work while machinery is running tells me that responsibilities are being just transferred and not managed.
Sadly, many employers refuse to acknowledge many of the facts you've provided. Accepting & acknowledging many of your points may assist with retention effects! 💪🏻🙋🏻♂️
I quit today I knew if I would have stayed there I would have died. It was time. Now the anxiety is going away and I feel free. I know I sound dramatic but I tried going to work today and had a panic attack I couldn’t even make it to the building and was sobbing. I started to see thru my bosses bs and his boss tried to change things but it was too late. I’m the 5th person that has quit. I’m a good damn worker to the point where I’ve had the safety team and upper management know I’m good. I’m so hurt that I’m thinking about going on disability it was that bad. I was making pretty good money to but I’ll take a pay cut if I have to just to be in a better place. Everyone was starting to become super toxic even me and I owned up to it no one else could. I tried for 4 months and now I’m just done.
I'm an assistant manager but my manager employed their family and friends and frankly they do not work , myself and tHe other assistant manager and tHE FUll time colleagues are fed up we do all the work and tHEy just Come to hAVE FUN . I have no power to put them out even after we told her they do nothing . Do you have any advice for me please? Please don't tell me to talk to the owners they have my managers back....
Opportunities to grow or a plan to grow and bad bosses are the ones I had. I'm too good at what I do so they keep me doing it forever, so I get bored after 2 or 3 years then I change jobs.
1.Low Pay 2. Making Employee do multiple jobs but not paying them more 3. Micromanaging 4. Trash Management 5. Toxic Work Environments 6. Not hiring employees company keeping skeleton crew 7. Not giving Proper promotion/raises when earned. These things should be merit based not based on work politics. 8. No nepotism
Mostly it's just because they are not happy with their position in the organisation. Plenty of very good employees get overlooked year in, year out because they are not seen as the "right fit" for the next level up. Promoting 1 person is also, in a very real way, a demotion for everyone else if it creates an additional tier and a new management layer which existing members need to report in to.
Companies also need to stop promoting bad employees. The last employer I worked for would always promote employees who were terrible at their jobs while others who are far more talented would NOT get picked. The reasons for this are because it’s all in “who they know” or who they would be able to kiss up to during the interview. The company would always claim that they would post the position(s) to be “fair” while already knowing who they want (weather they are good or not) and wasting everyone else’s time and energy. There should always be a practical part of the interview. I can’t always speak to what I do, but I can sure show you.
I agree with everything you said. For me the work life balance is most important. If you're an apathetic boss who can't support flexible arrangements for those (especially mothers) who are their kids' primary caregivers, that's a huge red flag in my book.
At my job the team leader lets their friends pretty much do what they want. The other team members are expected to perform at a high level. The company doesn't seem to want to address the problem. This makes me think about finding another job. Any advice?
My principal back in elementary once told me and my classmate that “ There’s people working from their fingers to their bones, then suddenly they going to stop.”
I enjoy my job but the people I work with don't seem to show the same passion. I work as a kitchen porter and it's part of the job to keep the kitchen clean and hygienic to a high standard, however the other kitchen porters I work with don't care about the hygiene standards. They rarely change the mop heads, clean the bin room and the bins and seem to think that just spraying the chopping boards with water and no soap is okay. They wash the floor with dirty water as well. I've tried pointing this out to management but it falls on deaf ears. I am the only one that checks we have enough chemicals, PPE and equipment in stock to clean the kitchen and notify the Head Chef what needs to be ordered. The other kitchen porters seem to think that all the job entails is just washing up and putting it away. We all get paid the same amount and I'm fed up as I don't get any recognition for what I actually do. I don't know if it's because I'm a woman and the others are men but I'm looking for somewhere else. One of the other kitchen porters who I enjoyed working with (because he took pride in keeping the kitchen clean to a high standard) has already left because of the same reasons.
Throughout my career, I haven't worked for a single business that puts employee retention or enjoyment first. Being the best player on my current squad, I have found that speaking up for and defending myself has only resulted in disappointment and (actual) difficulty. Sadly, the managers and businesses who may benefit from this guidance the most are either not looking for it or value it so little that it never materializes in practice. No bonus, employee burnout from the abuse many employees endured, being overworked and humiliated in public by my supervisor via chat, emails, and in-person interactions, along with the elimination of rest days, all occurred throughout the course of three weeks. What are they to anticipate?
I work in a factory and we have to work a lot of mandatory overtime. We can't keep people and 90% of the people are under the age of 25. Because of this we get a lot of absenteeism, especially over the weekend. Working extreme hours doing fast paced work keeps older more mature people away. And the kids that work there job hop like there's no tomorrow.
I am a high performer in high tech engineering for 20 years. I can handle 60h weeks indefinitely. I love my work and look forward to going to work on Mondays. I self train to get even better in my core areas, and broaden my skills to be more full rounded. All that basically for free to my employer. And I have quit many jobs, about 50% of the time it was a change in life circumstances. Otherwise, these are my reasons, in order of importance: 1. Bad boss, or bad boss' boss. 2. Bad recent hires that are tolerated. I want to work with other high performers, not leftovers. Poor teamwork, incompetence, these are all corrosive to team performance 3. Not supporting my professional development all the while taking full advantage of it 4. Lack of performance bonuses while people in management get performance bonuses for my work Surprisingly, salary was never my reason for quitting. Oh yeah, I am in the process of quitting now.
The Thing about personal growth is a reason im looking outside my company for a new job. I just find it very hard to get into a new position as my current employer pays more for me than others would for the more demanding job that requires more expertise and knowledge.
New sub . 😊 Hi great video. I’m in the healthcare field and you are absolutely correct on the numbers! I experienced these 5 things from my key term “Previous employer “ 1)Under appreciated 2)understaff /short-staffed = both patient and staff hazards 3)My boss is a jerk / Implements a favoritism bias environment 4)Does not allow room for growth opportunity and development 5) experience work exhaustion, both mental and physical 😢 Know, you’re worth, and never allow an employer to treat you this way !!! When you are a talented skilled person always strive for the best😊
Thank you 😊 I wish I would’ve found your video around the time that I was experiencing this but great advice. Hopefully someone else can find this helpful and start planning their exit plan.🙏🏽
When I worked in retail it was always them expecting more of you all the time while giving no credit only complaining and not helping. They don’t care about you.
I'm in healthcare, admin working to become more clinical. It's a heinous work environment that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. So many points in this video apply to where I am.
The two weeks notice is a scam with corporations that fire on a whim with a less than 24 hours notice. Use the two weeks notice if you want to maintain a good reference with the company in your work history.
I just want money to survive. I earn 8k/year while my US colleagues earn $90k/year. We literally do the same work. I can't even afford a used Corolla from 2006. When I get praised and win awards, I honestly feel bitter rather than celebrated because nice words don't pay the bills.
@@LeadershipwithMike Well, the context is that I work in Malaysia. Southeast Asia in general has low wages, and cars are generally way more expensive due to the policies, taxes and duties (expect around 70% - 300% more expensive than in the US). Also, engineers or STEM-field workers in general are severely underpaid here. It just feels wrong to not have a comparable living wage to our western counterparts. I'm not asking for $90k/year or even $45k/year, because clearly the cost of living is much lower in my country, but at least we'd like a sustainable living wage. The ability to pay rent, own a car, eat out once/twice a week, have some basic level of savings and investments. This has been the case recently in many SEA countries like Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, even Hong Kong and South Korea. Just search for documentaries and see what I mean.
I got praised constantly but I carried the short-staffed department and wasn't paid well. As soon as I had an issue (I told someone I shouldn't that I was quitting) I got pulled into a meeting with my bosses and HR. I was given a letter of Reprimand, told that I had no reason to complain and informed that the pay I was hired at is all I was entitled to. I put in notice right then. My workplace had events but my end of day was always before they started. They also had a scheme where managers could write on a little card when an employee had done something they liked and that would be entered for a drawing that might result in money. That was our bonus...
Your videos are amazing, started at the new company inherented employees that had very low moral due to last manager. Was able to turn it around and work flow has improved by 125% with the same staff. Staff so happy they all come in early to be there for morning agenda meeting.
I have had sooo many jobs (mainly service and retail) and for sooo long I felt like " I " was the problem. Now at age 52, I'm starting to realize it's just standard protocol with all these crappy chicken sh*t positions. These employers don't want to retain anyone. Once employees have figured the system , they try to run these employees out of their establishment to try to maintain decent morale at the company resulting in high turnover. Profit is number one. Employees are an expendable resource.
You want to know the actual reason because most bosses are selfish pieces of crap who are only concerned about their bottom line and pushing their workers as hard as they can
I can tell you I'm going through some bs at my current place of employment. I'm treated like a red head step child. Every action is criticised but not in a trying to make you do better way. Even when I do better or even do a job way above my expectations. I noticed its because I simply don't kiss a$$.
Lack of flexibility is a big one. Companies are imposing dictatorial mandates in their policies in recent years in a way they never did on a widescale in the past, with zero respect for employees individual rights, boundaries, personal beliefs, unique needs, etc. This is especially true of big companies. Companies have gotten too big in general, and this leads to less flexibility. We need more small businesses which helps there to be more interaction between employees and leaders.
Many employers are to blame! They don't appreciate their good employees. They work them to death without giving them a pay raise. They don't give any incentives to work hard and do your best (such as: cash bonuses, better health care insurance, promotions). Many employers want to get as much work out of people for the least amount of money. If you want some kind of advancement, many times you HAVE TO QUIT and bring your experience and skills to other companies. Also: coming to work with a nasty attitude and taking it out on your co-workers is a great way to lose good employees. Non-work related discussions about sensitivity training, sexual harassments, and company mottos are a big turn off to me. I just want to go to work, do my job, and go home. Please don't waste my time with any corporate nonsense!
I've quit jobs for vacation issues than any other reason. Retired at 67 now, I've quit a lot of jobs over the years. I've had jobs that simply didn't have vacation at all, work until you burn out. On another job, the supervisor denied all my vacation requests that had to be submitted 6 weeks in advance, in writing. Then, at the end of the year, he told me "Since you didn't take your vacation, you lose it." Vacation that was approved getting canceled the day before it was scheduled to start. It's almost comical to be told "We don't have anyone that can do your job while you're gone." Don't they realize that I'm going to be gone permanently (and suddenly)?
Im in healthcare and yeah, I feel like a machine. When I mentioned initially I was feeling overloaded and needed help, instead of hiring another tech to help me, they hired a 3rd clinician to load me up further -_-
I am planning to give my resignation letter, the reasons are exaclty same as you mentioned except the workplace bullying. I am luckily I do not involve of any bullying case.
My biggest peeve is employers who claim non discrimination policies but ignore every sign of harassment. So stupid employees just get away with being jerks
This is a very interesting channel, and I am impressed with your content. I was a teacher for 15 years, but I was not loving it for many reasons for most of that time. It took me a very long time (and a pandemic) to get me to quit and look for something else. Now , I'm studying web development & computer science, and i love the subject and work but had a bad experience in my first development job. I left after a year, and now I'm back looking for a new job...
It hurts when you pour your heart at soul into a company. They turned around and rejected your lateral move 3 times and down play your skills. I’ve tried my best to hold it together and try to find something else during these hard times. It’s so hard not to walk away without giving any notice. I’m giving the AI a try to see if I land anything soon.🙂↕️
Fairness… all I asked for a was rotating schedules (I work 4 10 hour shifts) and two of the employees constantly get Fridays and Mondays off every week. I asked for rotating schedules for the fairness which wouldn’t take their 3 day weekends away completely, it would just allow others to have that option too. I got ripped apart by the employees
The retail is the worst place to grow. Om my work i broke my back for 6 months as manager and assistant manger (50hours per week) and the company just ignored that.. no raise no promotion. But the most funny think is when i sent an email to my bosses to tell them that i tired and need help and raise...(we with you...). Every month i'm making them around 10K-16K of revenue. since 3 weeks they put a sneaky manager that like to kiss my boss's ... i stated to look elsewhere already..ready to fly... About the bonuses we have them but it almost impossible to get them and they very but very small...
I quit my job recently because the leadership made the job unnecessarily strenuous on the body, and kept postponing making the job more physically managable, always saying, "we are looking at a solution to this problem", but no deadline, no open communication with the ground people, this went on for +2 years, meanwhile the bodies of me and my colleagues paid the price.
I'm looking for other jobs now and resigning the moment i think I'm doing well in an application. I love my job, i hate my managers and my pay. I got bitched at today for taking initiative and getting the ball rolling on something that's going to change standard process for one of my departments core tasks, just testing it - not actively changing anything. They were mad at me for doing it at a time when i shouldn't have but they never said i shouldn't do it, they told my team a very specific thing we weren't allowed to do at specific times and what i was working on was not on that list
I've called corporate and nothing was done. As a matter of fact my schedule was switched so I can leave later. I work for a home improvement store (home de@@t). I'm a older female working my tail off in my department. Not appreciated and the other young man that works with me just sits there and does nothing. While I'm cleaning, sales, etc..... Reason why I refuse to buy anything there. I need a job so I need to stick around. I don't have a car so I walk to and from work 4 miles in total for the last 2 yrs and 7 months. Leave my job not that easy I'm alone and I have bills to pay.
The main reason > Because evil bullies (undiagnosed sociopaths) make everything to push down good employees, envy, micromanagement, discrimination, and we end up leaving when our mental health cries for help🤷♀️
I am the bedrock of the department. The more im told that, without any benefit to me, the worse it is. Id rather then say nothing. I've asked what i can do to become more valuable to the organization... and the answer was nothing.
My boss is an extremely toxic woman. She won't communicate stuff and when she does it is not clear and contradicts. She won't punish the lazy people who disappear from the place without saying where they are going but doesn't hesitate to bully and belittle the ones that go above and beyond. I am going to get my CV together and start looking for a new job after I have had surgery on my ankle. I can't bare to be near the psychopath any longer. I'm sick of being made to feel like I am useless
My newly self appointed manager after my bosses death is an alcoholic, along with two other employees. They love telling me what to do and feel that saying they cannot or are not interested in doing something is acceptable. The 3 of them are in their 50-60's and feel elite to me, yet none of them can use a computer or the machines required for the job. They are old men living with their parents and children and waste money on alcohol and drugs, yet they criticise me for using a laundry mat once a week and spending a fraction of what they spend on alcohol, on ready cooked meals.
What is really needed are more employee owned businesses like M.A.Ford. When employees have skin in the game and are not publicly traded there is more control over who is the President or CEO and everything else that happens to create a productive culture. Apple had no committees when Steve Jobs was the CEO.
When companies hire "quota" people and pay them more than the people already working there. Then they LET them sit there and do nothing BUT expect you to do their work!
When you have staff or people that work for you think how can i get this person a payrise. Look for potential qualites like yoh would for your own kids and nourish them. You will end up with team members who will advise you how to save money on a project. That means they really care.

I submitted my resignation letter last week Friday. I am the heart of the organization so it really came as a shock to everyone. My reasons were everything you mentioned
Good for you for looking after YOURSELF!! 👍🏻
Great
Everyone thinks they are undervalued and that no one else is more important than them. Good for you you quit. Now you’re jobless.
I dont give a letter, we dont get a letter when we get fucked so why would i give a letter or a notice, i got mouths to feed i dont fuck around
They were shocked? Seriously? That shows you how CLUELESS some people can be.
Don’t you love when managers cross train you to do 2-3 jobs but still pay you the salary of working one. 🤠👍🏽
It’s demoralizing
Current situation lol and more tasks coming soon.
Exactly why I quit my job yesterday
Happening to me right now. We just let go someone 2 weeks ago and don't plan on hiring a replacement. Was told I'm invaluable to the company.
Kwik trip 😂
I have had issues with lazy people not getting punished and management putting all the work on me. It has happened a few times . I love how they act surprised when i leave. Its not like i quit out of nowhere i try to work out issues before i do that. Once they stop listening then i have no other option.
I hear you. I would say it’s not even about punishing these people but actually holding them accountable. That’s what’s needed.
@@LeadershipwithMike yeah i should have used the term held accountable. I dont want to see anyone lose their job, but they need to be held to the same standard employers expect of someone who is a hard worker.

In my experience, people do not quit bad jobs. They leave to escape bad bosses.
Just quit, I was being bullied no stop at my job. Went to manager with documentation. They were gaslight me big time, the women admitted to cussing me out. I was told I was weak for being upset so I quit right then and there. I was done. I'm in healthcare.
Good for you. Sorry to hear this.

I have quit a good job because things started to get toxic and other coworkers were being lazy. Laziness disgusts me so much.
Good, don't burden self for others laziness. Stop feeding the animal with your blood and sweat
Lazy coworkers and unskilled coworkers or managers are the first reason why people think to leave the company.
Worry about yourself and you won't have to be disgusted
Then I would advise avoiding working for the government. Laziness is literally rewarded there.
On my off days I spend time with my family

Your industry actually has an "after hours". Many industries don't.
Wow. I love everything about your post. You’re amazing 🤩
@@LeadershipwithMike Thank you. I learned from my previous good managers as well as my bad managers.
Yes. However, unless your upper management, your easily replaceable as those below you. Your management style usually reflects those on the top or your fired.
Where should I apply?
I’m an introvert and have worked at my job for more than 4 years and I have never been promoted. I have never felt appreciated at work and although I may work so hard I am not recognized for my hard work. New employees who come in and barely do their job but only talk have all been promoted because my supervisor favors them also getting paid more that I do and seeing this makes me want to quit all the time. I know I will shine somewhere else and not where my current job is but still it hurts to see this reality.
Management stealing ideas and credit for stuff they cant even do. So many ideas lost because someone copied it and didnt know how to do it.
No bonus, burnt out, was once a star employee but slipped on some tasked due to exhaustion and became the target of anger everyday for 3 weeks from my boss (public humiliation through email, chat and in-person), no rest days anymore = I quit
Good for you
Yes
I totally get this feeling!!! Good for you.
Probably she is confused turned the job environment to dating pool
My CEO did the same thing. She had a thing against women.
So toxic!
WOW. what bullshit that is!!!!
I would have been pissed off.
I quit after for about 2 years being the MVP of the team, the only one in the team that could do many of the complex tasks and fix things if things broke (i work in IT).

My boss shows me every day how much she appreciates me. It she was to leave, I would quit.
People quit on their boss, not the job.
Agreed, but when your toxic boss becomes unbearable, you start hating your job too.
As a manager I make sure my employees are great and I look after them especially my good ones
1.Low Pay
2. Making Employee do multiple jobs but not paying them more
3. Micromanaging
4. Trash Management
5. Toxic Work Environments
6. Not hiring employees company keeping skeleton crew
7. Not giving Proper promotion/raises when earned. These things should be merit based not based on work politics.
8. No nepotism
How great leadership are you, Mike! I have learned a lot of knowledge from your videos.
I knew I was being forced out so I quit first.
Absolutely get that.
Otherwise, these are my reasons, in order of importance:
1. Bad boss, or bad boss' boss.
2. Bad recent hires that are tolerated. I want to work with other high performers, not leftovers. Poor teamwork, incompetence, these are all corrosive to team performance
3. Not supporting my professional development all the while taking full advantage of it
4. Lack of performance bonuses while people in management get performance bonuses for my work
Surprisingly, salary was never my reason for quitting.
Oh yeah, I am in the process of quitting now.
The Thing about personal growth is a reason im looking outside my company for a new job. I just find it very hard to get into a new position as my current employer pays more for me than others would for the more demanding job that requires more expertise and knowledge.

Quiet quitters also chase off the best workers. A 50 cent an hour pay raise is an insult. Don't try to trade a living wage for pizza parties.
All but one of my jobs over left at least partly because the boss and/or other employees are jerks
🖕🏽em dont give 2 weeks notice they dont give you 2 weeks notice b4 givin you the 👢
The two weeks notice is a scam with corporations that fire on a whim with a less than 24 hours notice.
How is that pay difference possible?

💥 BOOM!!! Well done!!!!
Its because of management.
Quit with the delusion.
"People dont quit jobs, they quit bosses."
You want to know the actual reason because most bosses are selfish pieces of crap who are only concerned about their bottom line and pushing their workers as hard as they can
The “keep bonus” actually works. Convinced me to stay in a role😂
Currently a EVS at a hospital. Not happy here anymore and currently looking elsewhere.
Wow. Brutal!
Always bad management, bad coworkers.
I am in Healthcare IT. We are treated like total crap, and they pay us way below our skills.
My biggest peeve is employers who claim non discrimination policies but ignore every sign of harassment. So stupid employees just get away with being jerks

Ya, try not to settle for treatment that’s less than you deserve. We all got bills to pay but try not to settle.
Yes and yes. All of what you said made me leave, to the surprise of my coworkers. My boss not so much.
Small, impossible to earn bonuses are useless! This is sad.
I work for money, everything else is horse shet!
In retail im one of them was devoted unappreciated and unvalued my manager says it's not what lindsey wants 17 years no growth
1. lie & cheat 2. abuse 3. under $$$ - just that simple
I am quitting my job after 22 years because new management and toxic, immature coworkers
Companies SHOULD NOT take employees family/free time away for TEAM BUILDING BS! UNLESS you give them EQUAL time off to spend with their families.
For the umpteenth time, employees don’t quit jobs, they quit bosses.
Great video as always
Thank you!!
I never overwork my staff especially if we are short on staff
Every one's got one/arse like most bosses. Power trippers.
What is really needed are more employee owned businesses like M.A.Ford. When employees have skin in the game and are not publicly traded there is more control over who is the President or CEO and everything else that happens to create a productive culture. Apple had no committees when Steve Jobs was the CEO.
Why I quit was because my fellow co workers started rumors bout me that wasn't true so I just booked it got another job
