Unlike so many bands out there Iced Earth has stayed true to their sound and that's why I still enjoy listening to their music.

After all of these years later, I’m still finding crushing songs by these legends! I’m a Barlow guy to the core but Stu is really growing on me. He’s aging like fine wine imo
For me the greatest thing about Iced Earth was how they always merged power metal, thrash metal, traditional metal and even progressive metal to great such a grand and exciting style of power/thrash metal that compromises not a single iota on heaviness, majesty, melody, complexity and concepts in it's delivery. They have done this (rather Jon Schaffer has) since they formed back in 1984 in Tampa FL.
Hell, once Stu joined the band he was even getting in death and guttural growls when they played live. Especially on Dantes Inferno. Jon's ability to fuse the elements of multiple metal genres and come out sounding like an Iron Maiden/Metallica smash up is what really hooked me on them all the way back in 92! I doubt we have seen the last of Iced Earth, but it'll be a while before we see anything new music wise.

When Matt Barlow left again, I was wondering who they could fill those shoes in with and low and behold, they brought in Stu who has been the best vocalist they ever had due to his versatility. I'm still a massive fan of Iced Earth despite what's happened. They were one of the first non-commercial heavy metal bands I ever got into and they are the leaders of power/thrash metal which I feel is an independent subgenre of metal that stands out on it's own. Back in the 90's I was so disappointed by what was going on in the rock/metal scene and how bands like Metallica and Megadeth were serving up demetalized offerings (Load? Reload? Risk? Anyone?) so to find Iced Earth was truly what I needed with a band staying true to what the real icons of heavy metal such as Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and early Metallica had forged.
I certainly hope it isn't the last of Iced Earth but as you said very correctly, it is going to be a long wait until any new material sees the light of day.

stu is definately up There with Matt. Nobody is close except matt. what really bothers me, is that a few years later, stu might not get the credit he deserves. but he sure does. Nobody came close to Matt, Until somebody actually did do it.

Some bands just have one memorable member, but Iced Earth is unique because the whole band is memorable and they mesh so well together musically! This line-up is excellent! These guys just keep getting better
Actually Iced Earth has always been built around Jon Schaffer who has always controlled every aspect of the band. He has written pretty much everything although he does allow songwriting from other members.
When the vocals kicked in, I couldn't help but think "Hello King Diamond"
That Jake kid is doing an amazing job wow ! Iced Earth is full of energy at the moment, you can feel it in the songs 👌album will be killer 🤘
all the track have been awesome so far, this album is gonna be tremendous, and Stu is finally using the full potential of his voice in Iced Earth.

To be honest I'm most exited to hear some good solos in Iced Earth again. I've always thought that these guys need a good lead guitar player, don't want to disrespect the previous guys, but now the things are much more in the right direction for me!

I've never listened to Iced Earth before and I thought I've listened to everything. I've heard of them I just never went ahead and listened to them. I just heard one of the greatest songs I've ever heard in this decade! HOLYFUCK THIS IS GONNA BE PLAYING ON REPEAT. It's got everything I love in Metal. I just fuckin love it. New favorite band right now. I don't know why I've waited so long to listen to these guys but that guitarist and drummer are fucking great as is the singer. 10 out of 10. Im floored

Pat Rogers I believe the leads were recorded by Troy, Schaffer said the album was already recorded when the new guy arrived.
I seriously doubt that, having seen Troy live a few times he doesn't possess this ability, he even messed up some of Tim Mills' leads.
The solos in all 3 songs I've heard so far have been so much better than the last few albums

I see all those people spreading hatred on the band and over-analysing things almost saying that if Jon had not stormed the capitol there wouldn't be dead people etc. Guys, first of all what Jon and every "Jon" who was there that day did was illegal and yes, they should be brought to justice for their actions because they breached the law. As simple as that. To those of you Iced Earth ex-hard-core fans who mix music and politics, if you actually have been "listening" to 'em lyrics, you should have seen that coming. Don't really see why people are so impressed. And to those of you who play the "good democratic samaritan", none of us really knows Jon more than between a meet-and-greet and listening to IE in spotify so do not assume you know his beliefs and jump to conclusions. I know that there are some people that don't really care for the new songs on Incorruptible , but I absolutely love this album. I have been listening to it nonstop since I got this past Friday. There were some songs that didn't grab me at first and some that I loved the first time I heard them. That has been the case for me with Iced Earth for about ten years. Their first album all the way up to The Glorious Burden didn't need many listens for me to love the songs. Since Framing Armageddon up to now, for me I need to hear some of the songs a great amount of times before they grow on me.
I got this album in 2017 when I was a senior in highschool, this song was one of my most played songs on my phone. To this day, Incorruptible holds a special place in my heart.

i have never been a big Iced Earth fan but I'm loving the three new songs. I think it's that the new material has a more thrash metal energy to it than their previous releases. whatever the reason this album will be amazing

@@novaseer 100%.....F&TPIH, that whole Sound of Perseverance album was a fitting "swansong" for them to go out with, as unfortunate as it was with Chuck's passing.....BWP was a monumental album as well, arguably Opeths finest hour, well along with Deliverance, and Ghost Reveries.....id also add Type O negative, "Gravitational Constant" "Bloody Kisses" "Anesthesia" and "September Sun" to that list....all epic, well put together monsters of songs.....Peter Steele was another, just like Chuck, who were both modern day composers, who sadly left us at an early age

As a Long Time IE Fan i have to admit that i was disapointed of Dystopia and Plegues of Babylon. Incorruptable is by far the best Album with stu Block. Just my opinion.
plagues is also very good, although missing the heaviness i seek from iced earth after the 3 initial songs. Dystopia even heavier lacks something i can't define. Apart from barely a handful of tracks it is my least favorite album by far

If all 10 songs of this album will be as epic as these 3 then I think that this album will have the balls to come face to face with the greatness of Night Of The Stormrider,The Dark Saga and Something Wicked This Way Comes yet I don't think that Iced Earth will ever reach the awesomeness of the dark and progressive masterpiece Burnt Offerings ever again...But I definitely think that Incorruptible will be,without a question,one of the top 5 Iced Earth records!

Lord Raging Iguana I would say that stu block is every previous iced earth singer, rolled into one. I liked Barlow, but still is doing an amazing job on vocals, even his live performances are near perfect.
I think he is killer, don't get me wrong, but to me Matt will always be the voice of IE. If I can't have Matt, I will be more than happy with Stu. He is a killer vocalist, and I am glad Jon is letting him show his full chops on this album.
