  • Subscribe Here bit.ly/1U6GJFP Hi loves! Today I have a super impromptu and personal video. I didn't plan on filming this video but I received a question about the water that I drink and what makes it so special. I wanted to share my story of how changing the way I eat and drink changed my health in ways that the strongest medication couldn't. This video might be a little all over the place because I just turned my camera on and started talking.
    I left some links below for more information on everything I mentioned. Please remember that I am not a doctor and what I talk about may not work for everyone.
    I know there are people out there suffering with much worse illnesses and I want you to know there is always hope. Stay strong and take care of your body with the foods that you put in it, exercise, good sleep. But most importantly take care of your spirit; pray, meditate, exercise positive thinking.
    If you want to start a thread in the comments section sharing your personal experience battling an illness, please do so! Share anything that helped you get through it or even holistic ways you conquered your illness. I want this to be a safe space for everyone to talk. Love you guys!

      Jolie Alaniz I completely understand the weight gain with illness. It's very depressing to look at yourself and not recognize the reflection in the mirror. Especially when you haven't had fun gaining the weight...
      Please know you're not alone. Bless you and best wishes! 🙏🏼💖

    Cutting out the foods that acidify the body is vital to health. Meat, fish, dairy, eggs cause an acid imbalance and interferes with health. Cleaning up your diet is essential to healing your body. Eat lots of beans fruits and vegetables. Your body will heal itself given the right building blocks. I pray for god health for you and everyone reading this. Blessings !
    Peace and love ❤️

    im so glad youre doing better! i used to work for a water treatment company back in 2009 when alkaline water was no where to be found. i did EXTENSIVE research on it at that time and found that *purified* water has low pH because it's filtered through a membrane which removes all the minerals from natural water. this is what's in tap water. many alkaline waters have an artificially high pH because the company adds baking soda to it. if you see sodium bicarbonate on the label, it has baking soda in it. baking soda isnt bad for u, but its not true alkaline water. also keep a lookout for kangen water (the multilevel marketing company). i have done testing on it and they basically add chemicals to the water through a machine to make it alkaline.
    the reason im telling you all this is because theres a lot of fake stuff out there. youre best off by drinking "spring water" or even tap water that has gone through a carbon filter to remove chlorine. my old company manufactured a special alkaline filter that would alkalize the water naturally. but i think if you do the above you will be fine. the spring water or tap water will be neutral or slightly basic.
    anyways, just wanted to share some knowledge and hopefully save you some money. i looked up essentia and they add baking soda :) you can do it on your own on the cheap lol.
    I LOVE your videos and look forward to them. youre probably my fave youtuber for your cooking and lifestyle tips. i bought the OXO containers with labels for my pantry cuz of you!! let me know if you want more info on alkaline water :)

    I'm so sorry you had to endure all of this. I understand completely what it feels like to be sick all the time I'm currently in and out of the hospital. I have been diagnosed with Graves disease, hyperthyroidism, and lupus. And now they're trying to figure out what's wrong with my blood sugar levels. I cant work which sucks because I just graduated high school. I cant exercise a lot because it affects my blood sugar too much. it's literally so hard because I want to work and I want to make a life for myself but I literally can barely get out of bed because my body hurts so much. thank you for sharing your story it means a lot to me. ❤❤❤

    Platelets are needed for clotting. They are what bind together at the bleeding site and clot. You can hemorrhage from a cut or bruise.
    And yes, it's called a spinal tap. Doctors make you go into a fetal position and insert a needle into your spine on your lower lumber area to extract spinal fluid.
    Your PH level varies in different areas of the body. Your stomach has to be acidic in order to breakdown nutrients. Your blood is around 7.2-7.4.
    Many studies have shown that chronic health issues stem from gut problems. Such as low stomach acid. I do believe that keeping the ph level optimal in your gut, by way of eating healthy, decreases several illnesses...
    What you have done is holistically better yourself.
    :)
    Liz you're such a strong woman! I never knew this about you, I love that you shared. I suffer from an autoimmune disease. I know how hard it can be to be chronically ill.

      Gigi Leon-Gonzalez. Same here. I have an autoimmune disease as well. Learning how to heal my gut. I suffered a stroke and get seizures now from the stroke. In bed a lot of days but God is pulling me through.

    • @gigileon25
      @gigileon25 7 років тому +3

      Marlene S yes. I'm glad you are trying to better yourself. Unfortunately many western medicine doctors tend to remove the cause of illness, instead of healing. I have Graves' disease. My thyroid was removed in 2012. Sure my heart conditions stopped. But now, at 25- I suffer from a plethora of other symptoms. Such as weight gain, memory loss, brain fog, extreme fatigue, lack of energy,decaying teeth , etc etc. In the eyes of doctors- sure that's better than a fast heart but I don't think there should be trade off. Good luck with your journey, I truly hope you get better ❤

      I know it is probably a stupid question but you can get internal bleeding from just a paper cut then?

    • @gigileon25
      @gigileon25 7 років тому +1

      Kasey Cassell no question is a stupid question love :) but to answer you: you can't get internal bleeding from a paper cut because that wound is superficial (skin) and much too small. If you suffer from itp or hemophilia or any other blood clotting disease, it depends on the severity of their cut and the severity of their illness if hemorrhage is an issue

      what are some steps to curing gut issues? I have been dealing with stomach aches for over 5 years... with little to no explanation. Probiotics? Cutting gluten? I'm not sure where to even start. Thank you so much +Misslizheart for sharing. I know its not easy to talk about your health struggles and I'm proud of you for being transparent with us. I'm asthmatic and I've been on medication since I was 6 weeks old, so we'll over 30 years on medication. Prednisone is no joke. I too have been on it for years. The weight gain is real. It even makes my hair fall out and turn crunchy like a brillo pad. I've never seen that water you were drinking but I'll look for it. Alkaline water is wonderful. There is a machine you can buy that makes your tap water Alkaline. It cost a fortune. I do like Fiji water and I can find that at the local store. I'm not familiar with your condition but I know it must have been a severe challenge for you. You were brave to share. I'm glad you've made the dietary changes that you needed to in order to help yourself. Love you lots ❤❤🙏❤❤💪👏

    Thank you so much for sharing this story with us. I am glad that you have discovered ways to make your health improve. I love what you said at the end of your video about working hard. It doesn't make sense to work so hard toward success, if you aren't taking care of your health.

    I am so glad you opened up and shared your story. I suffer from terrible migraines due to a traumatic injury many years ago. The head aches/migraines where getting so out of control that my doctor put me on steroid lidocaine injections over 2 years ago. I get them every two months. It just sucked because before that I had lost like 40lbs and was getting healthy and now here I am 2 years later and the lbs are slowly coming back on. I know long term it's not good to be on steroids and started doing more research.. I had read a few months back about the magnesium supplements helping with migraines and started taking them a few months back.. I thought it was cool that in a video not to long ago you were actually taking it too. I think your doing great things by sharing what you have learned. It sucks that you had to go through this but you sharing this makes me feel like I will figure this out too. My husband actually just started buying me that same water too.. I don't want to get all detailed and blah blah, but I really appreciate this video and needed to see it..

    Essentia is the only water I drink!! I love it and I'm happy that more grocery stores are selling it now not just Whole Foods. 🙏

    Hi Liz :) You did just fine !!! I'm a nurse and I don't think you butchered it at all ! You made it completely understandable for the lay person. Hope you continue to feel well, God Bless !!

    Ironically I found you whilst I've been ill and subscribed. I had a splenectomy 21years ago. No one really explained anything and I doubt they understood themselves. I've never heard how important the ph of water is and will need to look into it. So thank you for sharing your personal story.

    Wow!!!! I'm only 2mins and commenting. I love your videos so much and now knowing about your ITP makes you that much more relatable on such another level being that I am someone witch TTP which is pretty similar. Thanks for this vid

    Hi, Liz! Ty for sharing your journey! You explained everything just fine :) The only problem I have w/ this video is that not all of us can afford special waters and etc - some of us eat mostly from food pantries. So you see there is a big divide in this country between those who can get over whatever sickness they have, and those who cannot afford to. Grateful you are in the first category!

    OMG I have chronic ITP too! I was diagnosed at age 1 and still have it now at 27. I also had a spleenectomy at age 3. So excited to watch this video as I still struggle with it.

    So happy you opened up about this! My sister actually has extremely low platelets while she's pregnant and she had to take prednisone as well.... It's a very rough thing to go through she gained so much weight in such a short amount of time. Can't imagine going through it on a normal basis!! So happy you're better. Prayers for you always💓

    Thank you so much . . . I have a history of Colon Cancer, and I feel sick and tired all of the time . I never want to leave the house, or get up to cook and clean. I really need to work on improving my health, as I am also nervous about having a reoccurrence. Thanks again for your videos!!!
