It's actually got a little old school rasp to it. Not bad, but I personally would've put a vibrant resonator to clean that up, almost sounds like a duratec on the top end though.
@Exhaust Addicts. Nice looking Taco but my ‘08 Taco 4.0L TRDSS2 rules on sound and speed. So much so a Deputy pulled me over and called it obnoxious. It’ll do 105 mph and not even reach 3,000 rpm! Toyota loves the hell out of it. I even have custom leather interior too create the ultimate ride comfort. How loud is it? Neighbor is a retired PO Captain and said he thought a gun fired in my garage. I guarantee people around my truck on a cold start jump when it starts!
Mine has a massive cold air intake, headers, custom straight pipe dual exhaust no mufflers and chipped tuned for 5-15% gain in gears. Cold start in garage neighbor up the street thought a gun was fired. All on a 6” off road package.
To each their own, I personally thought it sounded like trash... needed 2 of those shorty bullet resonators yous use and it would probably sound decent.

I had mine with no cats at all and it sounded pretty nasty it was very very very loud. Put a high flow cat and muffler on since it was procharged and needed a bit of back pressure. Sounds good!
@@nat3.808very late response but yes all the stock cats are gone. Removed the ones up front towards the engine and removed the secondaries. Put one singular high flow “sport” cat to die to most shops not working on an emissions legal vehicle.

What exhaust? I’m running a straight pipe with a 12” glass pack dumped before the axle and ohh she screams!!

Sounds very similar to my 3.6L Ram single in dual out Magnaflow, however the Tacoma set up sounds cleaner.

Revving a engine below red line literally can’t hurt it. It’s actually good to do it every once in a while super high.
