One of my favourite ever John Paul episodes ever. James Sutton's acting is perfect here. The anger, the sass, the sarcasm! So good! I wish he had stood his ground a little bit longer before he forgave Craig again though.
I agree with all of this. He let Craig back in way too quickly after what he did here. To me, this was the second-worst thing Craig did to him, after the gay bashing in February. But John Paul is always a weak character when it comes to Craig; that's one of his defining features.
@@holdenagincourt Yes which made his dumping of Craig at the airport so out of character. JohnPaul was always so patient with Craig and he knew the threat of violence they could face from homophobes.
I love the costume design here, with JP in jet black and Craig in all white. It accentuates the clear lines being drawn, the erasure of the shades of gray JP has been letting Craig get away with and which Craig has been protecting himself with. It's really effective. Also they have such inherent chemistry in their scenes. The writing has some highs and lows but James and Guy really make the most of it.
When Sarah was telling the pool story to John Paul, everything went silent and I thought it was to represent Craig's uneasiness and guilt about the whole situation... And then I realized it was because my headphones were halfway unplugged. I'm such an ass. Lol.
Nazarene Wyckoff Great question! U can love someone (care about their well being, want the best for them, appreciate their qualities, enjoy spending time with them, etc) but not necessarily feel a deep intimate connection with the person (physical / emotional/ intellectual).
I will say this about Craig (who I still love, by the way, senselessly and utterly, just like John Paul): he does go in and take his punishment from John Paul once he's done something wrong. He's useless at apologising, almost always gets defensive about criticism, and usually does ridiculous things like tries to solve every problem with sex, but he at least makes some effort and accepts John Paul's tongue lashing every time. Which is more than I can say about some of the men from my past.
"Look what you´ve turned me into! I´m acting like one of my sisters!!" So great! Don´t know how often i watched this but it always makes me laugh XD As if it´s the worst that could happen.
Craig comes back off his hols thinking he's totally in love with Sarah until...dun, dun, duhhh....1:44 John Paul comes in. Love the way he makes Craig feel like sh*t when he says about messing people about. This whole episode leaves a bitter taste but it's still bloody brilliant. LOL
Favorite part, which I always remind three or four times, is around 6:40, when Craig says, "I was just trying to say sorry." and John Paul slaps his hand away, and even though his back is turned, you can just see the resignation in Craig.. like he knows that he knows he screwed up royally.
I've watched this at least 5 times and never noticed until yangatheart1 pointed out that Craig wipes his mouth with the back of his hand after kissing Sarah at 1:48 - a sure indication of his true feelings for Sarah.
I can't believe people complain so much about Stendan nowadays. While I love both, Craig was manipulating and emotionally hurting JP as much as Bren hurts Ste. Both relationships are filled with lies and false promises and both Craig/Bren use their "power" over their lovers to string them along. And no matter how bad it gets, Ste/JP always seem to go back.
your ending this cause i whent away!?! CRAIG yes thats the sole cause he ending .it has nothing to do with the fact that you went back to your girlfriend (same girl that you where dumping ) after she dumped you. has nothing to do with that you have told J-P that you love him and you want to be with him but then show up with Sarah on your arm....sooo yes that is the only reason....
I am happy that John Paul return to Hollyoaks.. but I hope that Craig and John Paul doesn't split up ( I think so) we have waiting so long until Craig & JP are happy together..
I don't know why Sarah has to finish every phrase keeping her mouth open and exhaling that strong, it makes her look even more silly than she already is.
Noticed when the boys are in the living room or Parlor Craig's shirt is buttoned in the bottom three holes. When they get to the bedroom all the buttons are undone. Jp is pissed and sex is the last thing on his mind. Craig, well there is always hope.
I hate how jp's voice changes into a pleading little boy when Craig has him against the wall. He should have shown some strength in that moment and showed him how her really felt. Instead he acted like he was scared little boy. Everyone always blames Craig in this storyline but JP is just as weak and just as guilty. But with this said, I have to admit, I LOVE THEM BOTH!!
Craig had a few unpleasant qualities and took ages to grow up into an empathetic adult, but at least after years he did finally mature and become humble enough to atone for mistakes. Jake was always horrible from the outset, and stayed that way. I always preferred to think of Darren as Craig's true brother, as under the lame catty banter Darren really did care deeply about Craig.
You know who Craig reminds me off, Brendan Brady. When he manipulate Ste emotions just like Craig is doing to John Paul. They are arrogant and believes that they can get away with anything and John Paul and Ste will still come running to them. However, I am both Brendan and Craig fans. I know they belong to each other.
Hehehe...you really feel like shit now Craig don't you.... Love how he looks sooo guilty at the Dog when Sarah is going on and on about what they've been up to.
When John-Paul and Craig became a official couple in dublin do you reckon John-Paul would forgive Craig as quickly he does here He gives him hell here but takes him back the following day when Craig comes groveling again and JP drops an iron on his foot do you want me to kiss it better John-Paul just doesn't seem to be able to stay mad at Craig
@mkaythatsthename Not quite. She did cheat on Craig anyway at her best mate's 18th with her EX, slept with her dad's girlfriend (Okay that hedn't happend 'Yet') and she was quite blatantly clingy to Craig, all the way throughout the storyline. The producers didn't exactly portray her in a likeable light though.
John-Paul doesnt really punish Craig for his terrible behaviour until the airport where he leaves Craig and Craig spends a year pining after John-Paul and regretting much of his behaviour during their summer affair he returns a year later which a much more mature head on his shoulders he owns up to his mistakes and admits to more when he tells John-Paul i went through it all again i met a girl we went through the motions for six months i didn't feel much but JP did it get any easier Craig no at times id think of reasons not to go to bed with her kissing her was just JP i don't want to hear it Craig i couldn't stand it that when i had to tell her JP You told her you were gay Craig i told her i was still inlove with my ex
@mkaythatsthename Haha, Quite a few McDeaners didn't like anyone in the way Re JPC, whether that be Spike, Kieron, or Sarah. It was inevitable really, but It's nothing personal though XD Just, they were in the way :P.
Bravo Jp, well done, If it was me I will do the same thing.. craig deserve this, (because if he thinks he can do all the shit and runaway and then come ask you excuses he is strongly mistaken)..well done..
JP's voice when he says “Don't you dare say you're sorry.” gave me chills.
David Santos agree. beautiful voice modulation. sutton is No.1
LOVE it when JP says "Don't you dare say you're sorry." in that lovely, growly voice.
I love this strong John Paul, when he said : "it's too late " just loved it !
John Paul's face is so funny as Sarah goes on and on about the vacation. You can just tell he is really pissed.
One of my favourite ever John Paul episodes ever.

I feel like if he had stood his ground a little longer then Craig might have caught sense
I just love jp's sass in this episode.
I love the costume design here, with JP in jet black and Craig in all white. It accentuates the clear lines being drawn, the erasure of the shades of gray JP has been letting Craig get away with and which Craig has been protecting himself with. It's really effective.

holdenagincourt good observation. same thoughts
I think it's funny how the people who give the best advice are always the ones who need it the most.
"I'm a person Craig!" Go JP!!!
When Sarah was telling the pool story to John Paul, everything went silent and I thought it was to represent Craig's uneasiness and guilt about the whole situation... And then I realized it was because my headphones were halfway unplugged.
I'm such an ass. Lol.
That would have been a good sound effect for the studio to have done. Your headsets smart.
I was so proud of John Paul for kicking Craig to the curb at this point. Craig didn't treat John Paul right, making him live half a life.
This storyline changed me
I'm so proud of John Paul! He finally stood up to Craig :D
“Turned me into my sisters, shouting wanting revenge” When surrounded by McQueens daily end up like them
John-Paul sleeps with Craig the following day though John-Paul is not only deeply inlove with Craig he is also very attracted to him
Anyone else notice how Craig wipes off Sarah's kiss at 1:46
Yes! That was deep!
I believe craig when he says he loves Sarah but he definetly loves JP even more!!
trinity borlace Yes, he did love Sarah but he was in love with JP.
What the different?
Nazarene Wyckoff Great question! U can love someone (care about their well being, want the best for them, appreciate their qualities, enjoy spending time with them, etc) but not necessarily feel a deep intimate connection with the person (physical / emotional/ intellectual).
:( Craig was so sweet to his brother. Everything he said is exactly what he wishes he could hear if he were to tell people about him nd Jp.
I will say this about Craig (who I still love, by the way, senselessly and utterly, just like John Paul): he does go in and take his punishment from John Paul once he's done something wrong. "Look what you´ve turned me into! I´m acting like one of my sisters!!"
So great! Don´t know how often i watched this but it always makes me laugh XD
As if it´s the worst that could happen.
I love how jP just says I was just looking for spike
Craig comes back off his hols thinking he's totally in love with Sarah until...dun, dun, duhhh....1:44 John Paul comes in.
Love the way he makes Craig feel like sh*t when he says about messing people about.
This whole episode leaves a bitter taste but it's still bloody brilliant. LOL
4:11 That's the face Craig always has on when he comes knocking on JP's door o_o
I love the way he says 'pathetic' in 4:41
No, I cheer for them. Event though Craig is a jerk but he cannot live without his John Paul and he will realize that later on.
Favorite part, which I always remind three or four times, is around 6:40, when Craig says, "I was just trying to say sorry." and John Paul slaps his hand away, and even though his back is turned, you can just see the resignation in Craig.. like he knows that he knows he screwed up royally.

Amy Winehouse :3 i love how the music in this gets better n better
Oh John Paul is sooo hot when he's angry. Do not mess with John Paul, Craig. :D He IS a McQueen after all lol.
James portrays angry JP perfectly :)
SO PROUD OF U JP!!!!
I love this, good for JP! Personally I would've slammed the door shut in Craig's face the minute I saw him at the doorstep
your ending this cause i whent away!?! CRAIG yes thats the sole cause he ending .it has nothing to do with the fact that you went back to your girlfriend (same girl that you where dumping ) after she dumped you. has nothing to do with that you have told J-P that you love him and you want to be with him but then show up with Sarah on your arm....sooo yes that is the only reason....
i luv how JP handle his bussiness
I am happy that John Paul return to Hollyoaks.. but I hope that Craig and John Paul doesn't split up ( I think so) we have waiting so long until Craig & JP are happy together..
I don't know why Sarah has to finish every phrase keeping her mouth open and exhaling that strong, it makes her look even more silly than she already is.
BEST EPISODE EVER!!!
which song sounds at the beginning??
Noticed when the boys are in the living room or Parlor Craig's shirt is buttoned in the bottom three holes. When they get to the bedroom all the buttons are undone. Jp is pissed and sex is the last thing on his mind. Craig, well there is always hope.

Am I the only one who cheers for anyone but Craig for JP?
BRAVO, JP! BRAVO!!!
Look at Craig being a good brother, why can't Jake be like that?
Craig had a few unpleasant qualities and took ages to grow up into an empathetic adult, but at least after years he did finally mature and become humble enough to atone for mistakes. Jake was always horrible from the outset, and stayed that way. I always preferred to think of Darren as Craig's true brother, as under the lame catty banter Darren really did care deeply about Craig.
Darren did betray Craig when he slept with Craig girlfriend Darlene and had Craig walk in on them together.
I know I commented on this before, but I agree with turkleton05, that showed how strong JP is...*looks at next episodes thumbnail* Ohh crap...
Is it just me or have they changed JP room. The door opens in a different direction the when he first kicked Craig out.
Craig sooo wiped out Sarah's kiss when JP arrived.
*snort* JP is hotter when he's angry.
I love Sarah. If she were homely looking, yall would love her too. HATERSSSS.
i feel so bad for John Paul :(
0:33 lol Looks like Craig's forgotten that Sarah hates lilies.
Donna Brown exxxxactly
@MapleAndAnimeCrazy I was just thinking that same thing, it almost looks like a wounded puppy dog, you can't help but feel pitty for him...
angry jp take me now
Hehehe...you really feel like shit now Craig don't you....
Love how he looks sooo guilty at the Dog when Sarah is going on and on about what they've been up to.
When John-Paul and Craig became a official couple in dublin do you reckon John-Paul would forgive Craig as quickly he does here

I caught that too...the door was also on the other side..to the right..
John Paul chased after the cab after Jake told him Craig & Sarah just left for holiday...
Amy Winehouse's "You Know I'm No Good."
@mkaythatsthename Not quite. She did cheat on Craig anyway at her best mate's 18th with her EX, slept with her dad's girlfriend (Okay that hedn't happend 'Yet') and she was quite blatantly clingy to Craig, all the way throughout the storyline. Thanks!!!! :))
I swear someone in the wardrobe department hated the actress who played Sarah. Considering the ugly outfits they continue to put her in.
craig deserves this for breaking Jp's heart.
John-Paul doesnt really punish Craig for his terrible behaviour until the airport where he leaves Craig and Craig spends a year pining after John-Paul and regretting much of his behaviour during their summer affair he returns a year later which a much more mature head on his shoulders he owns up to his mistakes and admits to more when he tells John-Paul i went through it all again i met a girl we went through the motions for six months i didn't feel much but
JP did it get any easier
Craig no at times id think of reasons not to go to bed with her kissing her was just
JP i don't want to hear it
Craig i couldn't stand it that when i had to tell her
JP You told her you were gay
Craig i told her i was still inlove with my ex
GO JP!!!!!!
Those flowers he got for sarah are horrible lol
Yeah i agree with you Sarah Hates lillies as well them mean death
@MapleAndAnimeCrazy Awh! Lol for some reason, I think she's like the sweetest person.. Def clingy but still very likeable. Haha
@mlorocker Keep in mind that Stendan are based on domestic abuse, but I can see were you're coming from though.
@Jordgubbsmix Exactly what I was thinking.
i hope they end up together ♥♥♥♥ :D XD
i know what you mean...im made up jake left! i remember wen he was nice...thems were the days!
I'm so glad they didn't have sex at the end of this, I wanted John Paul to take craig upstairs just to push him down them
贱受渣攻,虽然看不出攻受,但是当真觉得这场爱恋甚是悲哀,快点分开吧,实在看着别扭
@mkaythatsthename Haha, Quite a few McDeaners didn't like anyone in the way Re JPC, whether that be Spike, Kieron, or Sarah. It was inevitable really, but It's nothing personal though XD Just, they were in the way :P.
Bravo Jp, well done, If it was me I will do the same thing.. craig deserve this, (because if he thinks he can do all the shit and runaway and then come ask you excuses he is strongly mistaken)..well done..
Wipes his mouth with the back of his hand after kissing Sarah 1.48. Teehee

Craig is mega hot! ooft!
