This video will detail how to install your Boost Auto Parts towing mirrors onto your Ford 2015+ F150. This video specifically is for 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 or 2020 Ford F150's set up for 8-pin mirrors. This is for the Ford 2015+ style tow mirrors with running light and signal. The video covers the mirror mounting as well as the wiring for all of the lighting features. The video covers the mirror installation as well as wiring.

Is the 8 to 22 pin adapter included with the signal only mirrors?
@@colerader5003 Yes - if your original mirrors were 8-pin our mirrors will come with an 8 to 22 pin adapter.

I got the mirrors installed. They are a top notch product. Highly recommended. Now I just need to go ahead and run the blue through my door and I’ll be all set.
Thanks Boost Auto for a great instructional video and a great product. I was on the road all weekend and the mirrors preformed flawlessly. The glass does not shake and the glass is perfect. Love the mirrors. Plus they look great.

Do the puddle lights work with out plugging the blue cable?
@@javierorduna6914 Our 8-pin towing mirrors are NOT equipped with puddle lights currently. The blue wire is for the running light.

@@kevinmorley8119 If you originally had puddle lights then we install high output puddle lights. If you didn't originally have puddle lights then we install a block off plate.
Do not simply state your original mirrors came with puddle, because if you do that the incorrect connector will be installed on the mirror.
Reach out to our team if you want the puddle lights installed instead of the blockoff and you didn't originally have puddle; we can do that for a modest cost. This needs to be custom ordered over the phone or email though.

Just put my order in, excited to get them to play with once they are off backorder, and shared your product on F150 forum on a mirror thread where people were looking for exactly this mirror, hope you get some more sales out of it.
Got mine installed yesterday, it was a smooth and easy install. The only difference I noted is that the video said to make sure the window was down during fishing the cable which I did, but then I had to plug my door panel back in so I could roll the window up to get enough room to fit my hand in the door to pull the wire clip.
My truck also had a plastic sheet over the hole you have to reach your hand into to reach that clip. It peeled back easily and reapplied just fine with the sticky rubber gasket it was applied with.
About 30 min per side install and everything works great!
You mean you had to go ahead and plug the door panel back in so you could go ahead and roll the window up to get enough room to go ahead and fit your hand in the door so you could go ahead and pull the wire clip?

Now I am just going to leave a tip. When running your stiff wire through the boot and routing it through the inside of the door, take an extra minute to remove your door speaker. Makes it 100 times easier to route your wire and get both boots back onto the door.

Is it REALLY that hard to undo the harness at the door grommet under the door panel? Watching that drives me crazy....
But..for anyone else reading this (and on the fence about dropping the cash on these mirrors), Boost's mirrors are the only way to go. They are more expensive than the mass-produced, rebranded garbage you'll find on Amazon, but having been through TWO sets of cheap, Chinese Amazon mirrors trying to "beat the system," it got burned twice in a row and had a hell of a time trying to get them returned through shitty vendors. Boost will take care of you, and their mirrors are second to none (maybe a tie with OEM, though). And this is coming from a world-class cheap ass and mechanic (so I'm never trying to pay more than I have to, and I know good shit when I see it).
What if I want my running lights to be amber?
We offer the running lights in amber color. If you select an option on our site that is "Signal & Running Light" you will receive amber running lights. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call us at 765-831-2830
Please what is the terminal model that goes into connection b8 and b11 ?? I only miss the terminal to connect the running light...
The terminal comes pre-installed on our harness, it is not sold separately.
Hi, so I’m installing it on my 2020. At 3:25, does that extra slack give it to the middle boot? Also mine has some hard plastic over where I would take the extra slack. Does it matter if I take that off or will I have to replace it?
It should be taped to that plastic, you would want to reinstall it in the end. At 3:25 you're just unclipping the harness from a trim clip.
I have these on my 2020 STX and needed the heated mirrors for that Alaskan cold. I noticed they have an icon on the mirror that I'm assuming means heated. Is it supposed to light up when the rear defrost is on?
Otherwise I have the Switchback and I love these mirrors so much!
The icon is not meant to light up - it just indicates the glass is equipped with the feature. You should be able to physically feel it warm up.
Just finished installing these on my 2020 stx, they look great and work great, but now my check engine light is on. Is there any way to get rid of that?
Check engine light should not come on - our 2018+ mirrors have a temperature sensor. Likely you cycled the key with the mirrors unplugged so that triggered the check engine light. Clear the code and it shouldn't come back.

Does the company plan on adding the wire for the puddle light? It's a feature I would like to have on my truck. If you guys ever do, hope to see a full install of the puddle lights so for those who want to add them in the future, it will be done right.
At this time we do not offer a puddle light upgrade. Puddle lights require reflashes of computers which is a bit more complex then most like to undertake.
@@boostautoparts ...I've read that using Forscan can activate. I've used it to give my radio working navigation.. Hope in the future you guys will figure out a good path to run wires.

Weird question, on the end of the blue wire, what size is that male connector?
It isn't a universal terminal - it's a specific terminal meant to mate into that connector. The good news is our 8 to 22 pin adapter comes with it installed.

We do not currently support the upgrade of puddle light.
I have a 2019 F150 xlt without puddle lights I would like to have mirrors with the puddle lights not necessarily the tow mirrors any suggestions how I might actually accomplish this.
Unfortunately we do not have an upgrade path to add puddle lights at this time. At this time, the only bonus feature that 8-pin trucks can add is the running light.

I currently don't have a puddle lamp on my OE mirrors, I want to get these tow mirrors with a puddle lamp. Is there an additional harness i can utilize to facilitate this?
There is not currently an upgrade path to add the puddle light.

@@RicehXc Hey that's super useful information. Since the time that I left this comment and now I had purchased boost auto mirrors, then shortly adfter my truck was stolen and trashed by some tweakers. I miss my damn truck. lol Need to get another one.

how does it work if you have heated mirrors?
Heater comes on with the rear window defrost button.

On a 2018 f150 xlt if the OEM mirrors have no turn signal can you replace them with after market side mirrors with turn signal ?
If you upgrade to our tow mirrors and follow our installation path you can add the running light and signal.
Is the wiring the same for a 2018 f150 stx model ? I read the wiring is different on those models for the blue wire
It is the same for an 18 STX!
My truck has the ambient sensor in the mirror, is there a sensor in these?
All of our 2018+ mirrors come equipped with temperature sensor.

I have a 2020 F150, installed the F250 Tow Mirrors. The Outside Temp sensor in the factory mirror is on the drivers side, the temp sensor in the Tow mirrors in the passenger side. After the install my Check Engine Light is ON because it is not sensing the Temp sensor now. Is there a Fix for this?

@@boostautoparts The only thing I am concerned with is that they say only on the passenger side for both types of connectors....Mine is clearly on the left side. Is there possibly one on the passenger side on your F150?

As long as you answered the questions correctly on the mirror page with regards to if you originally had BSM and Puddle (which would be no if you have an 8-Pin), the 8-pin adapter comes with. The blue wire will be installed on the 8-Pin adapter assuming you purchased Signal & Running Light or Switchback.

Quick question, I have an 18 f150 xl stx and would love to have defrosting mirrors as mine currently dont. I do have a rear defrost window, do these mirrors work with the rear window defrost button?
Yes, you should be able to gain defrost with our mirrors. If you'd like to be sure, remove the trim panel covering your mirror connector and send pictures of it to sales@boostautoparts.com with this question and our team can confirm your truck is wired for mirror defrost.
Just to be clear, the blue wire is only adding daytime running lights to the tow mirrors? My small mirrors have turn signals but not DTR lights, but I could add them with the blue wire if I wanted to. Right?
The blue wire adds the running light (not daytime running light) to the towing mirrors, assuming the towing mirrors are setup for the running light feature. You can gain the running light by adding the blue wire as shown in this video. Our mirrors come with all of the necessary components for install.

I have a 2019 Ford F-150 . My truck does not come with turn singles on the mirrors . If I order ones with turn singles from you will the turn singles work on the mirrors ?
Yes, as long as you have power adjust you will gain the signal plug and play with our mirrors.

Will your parts work on a 2018 F150 Lariat Ecodiesel? it has puddle lights, power-folding, and side lighting.
Please clarify the specific part you're referencing. This video is for 8-pin mirrors which would not be what a Lariat is equipped with.

How much wider are these mirrors compared to,the smaller stock mirrors ?
These are considerably larger and are the same size as Ford OEM towing mirrors. They can be extended 3" as well.
I’d love to add them to the truck but I’d have to fold them just to get in the garage.
@@tomscheider9133 We do offer power folding if your original mirrors were power folding. If your original mirrors were not power folding we don't currently have an upgrade path to add it, but we are planning to release a fully plug and play power fold upgrade in the next 6 months.
So currently having non-folding and no puddle lights my set-up is most assuredly an eight pin harness ? And you’ll have a plug & play set-up in short time ? Would that include an armrest upgrade for additional switches ?
