    Highly recommend yow mirrors on your rig! They greatly help reduce blind spots and some trailer rental places will not lease a trailer to you without tow mirrors!

    I have manual tow mirrors on my 2018 STX supercrew 4x4. Whether I tow or not, I WON'T OWN ANOTHER TRUCK THAT DOESN'T HAVE TOW MIRRORS! I am over the moon about NOT HAVING A BLIND SPOT!

    What exactly are you testing for with the test light? Would be helpful to show how this is done

    • @stevenkirbach6241

      I can probably assume the wire for the turn signal connects to the existing turn signal, which is easy enough to figure out. But I’m not sure about the other. Will any live wire do? Which existing connector is being tapped? Does it matter?

      If anyone has the same question I’ll answer mine:
      The blue wire is for the turn signal and it connects to the white LED. This one you test for a signal that flashes when you have your turn signal on. For me, this was connected to my existing harness which connects to the mirror.
      The brown wire is for the daytime running lights. To test which one to connect to, find a wire which is always hot. It probably won’t matter which harness. Note that some connections likely have higher voltage, so make sure to compare the brightness of the test light and use the wire which makes the light the brightest (assuming you want the best looking lights 😉). I’ve had issues with this one in my passenger side, not exactly sure what’s going on yet. The running light on this side seems to only work when plugged into the pin for the turn signal.

    Can you make a video installing the new style mirrors on a 2013 f150?

      I keep mine in a safe with all of my prized possessions. Right now, the safe only has a 10mm socket.

    For the passenger’s side mirror, does the ambient air temperature sensor itself need to be purchased and installed plug and play style? Or would additional wiring be required to retain functionality of that sensor?

    May I ask what was the blue wire and brown wire? Was blue Clearance lamp and brown puddle lamp?

      That's for converting a factory 8-pin mirror connector so that it will gain the capabilities of the more sophisticated mirrors that require a 22-pin connector.
      If you already have 22-pin mirror connectors from the factory, then you don't need to worry about hacking up your wiring harness or installing adapters as long as all you are doing is upgrading to towing mirrors with the same functions as your OEM mirrors.

    Does the power folding work with these or would you have to get out and fold in the mirrors?

    Does this work if your truck doesn’t have the turn signal mirror already?

    • @jlfitness5507
      @jlfitness5507 7 місяців тому

      I think that is the very example in the video, using a truck without them already. Like mine, but the wiring harness inside makes it work after the fact.

    It would be nice if they told us what the three extra wires power????

    • @regalnut86
      @regalnut86 Рік тому +2

      He did. The blue and brown are for powering the running light/blinker that the new mirrors have whereas the white wire would be used for the puddle light on the mirror's underside.

    How is the wind noise with these mirrors? Does the glass on the mirror vibrate alot when driving?

    • @jeremyhess7977
      @jeremyhess7977 6 місяців тому

      There is a little, but it's not bad. And there's only a little more wind noise due to having a physically bigger mirror hanging off your door - it can't be helped since you can't alter the laws of physics.

    So I have a question, we have a 2016 Lariat with the stock mirrors with the puddle lights, blind spot and power folding with spot lights. The truck also has the 360 Parking camera feature. Will the 360 camera system still work if I install the mirrors?

      @@jdwht2455 That's a lie. They will work, they just have to add-on the extra features to their mirror order.

    • @jeremyhess7977
      @jeremyhess7977 6 місяців тому

      Yes, you can add the extra features on to your mirror order. They just won't be $600 for a set... more like $1400.
      I have a 2018 with factory puddle light, BLIS, heated glass, 360 camera, and power fold options. The Boost AUTO mirrors worked perfectly fine.
      The 2021+ trucks are "smarter" than any truck has a right to be and sometimes they don't like it when you modify anything that has anything to do with the BCM.
      That's where ForScan may have to come in to play in order to get everything functioning.
