    OH MY GOSH, you totally Rock. Soaping for several years but never really serious about it. I Just had fun learning and creating as I went. I’ve watched your videos for several weeks now and you’ve fast become someone I’d recommend as one of my top favorite soapers here on UA-cam. You speak and teach on a level that’s both simple yet beautiful clear.
    All of my top favorites soapers have been generous with their wisdom along with an easy recipe to follow.
    Thank you for sharing this video. My last soap battle was to tackle soap dough… and here it’s is 😊 and explained simply beautiful. Thank you

    Thank you soooo much for this. I've watched so many confusing videos on how to make the dough. Then I though, it almost sounds like a regular soap recipe. Then you perfectly explained everything and confirmed that it is just a cold processed soap recipe. And the key is not letting it air out. I appreciate this so much, so thanks again. Your video was perfect.

      Thank you Evette. Yes, I have seen lots of complicated soap dough recipes but we have found that our recipe works well and as long as the air is excluded it makes a good soap dough. I can't guarantee that all soap recipes would work well as it would depend on your chosen ingredients but it would definitely we worth trying. It also makes it so much easier if you ever need to get your recipe assessed to sell.

      Thank you so much Jayne!For the first time, I was a bit nervous about posting the video as I am not 100% sold on the hair colour change yet, so thank you for your kind comment :-) Wayne tends to prefer staying behind the camera - but I am trying to coax him out, so anything is possible!

      I know, it took a lot of trial and error to get it this way and even now we do sometimes get a batch that doesn't go quite right and ends up a sticky or lumpy mess!

    Hello, thank you so much for sharing! This is such a useful knowledge, I learn something new everyday and now your video really helps me. May I ask though: is the Coconut Oil in your recipe just simply “Coconut Oil” or do you mean “Virgin Coconut Oil”? I just wanna make sure I understand correctly.

    Thank you for your recipie. I would like to make different colours so I was going to put it in smaller bags. When putting this recipe through soapcal do you superfat it and what water discount or lye concentration do you use?

    Hi Anne, what if the dough is still a tiny bit sticky? It’s been made only 4 days ago. Should I leave it in the bag for another days/weeks? Thank you for sharing your recipe.

    I usually use sodium lactate in my recipes, can I use it when making soap dough? or should I leave it out for this purpose? Thanks a lot!!!

    • @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany
      @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany  3 роки тому +1

      I would probably leave it out as sodium lactate does tend to harden soaps which you wouldn't want for soap dough.

    How long will this last

  • @Sandy-gj1wk
    @Sandy-gj1wk 2 роки тому

    will this soap dough harden after it is used on the soap in whatever shapes u decide to do with it

    • @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany
      @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany  2 роки тому

      As long as you leave the shapes out and exposed to air, yes, they will harden. Ours tend to take a day or two to harden up once we have made our decorations.

    Hi thanks for the recipe but how long to left in plastic bag ya ?before take out to shape it ?

    • @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany
      @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany  3 роки тому

      We normally leave it for at least 48 hours, just to ensure saponification has taken place and to ensure the soap dough has firmed up enough to mould.

    After the soap dough done, and we put them in the open area, could that dough become hard like the common soap again???

    Can we colour it after it’s hard or during blending ?

    • @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany
      @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany  Рік тому

      You can colour either way, but we find it easier to colour while blending as this creates a more even colour :-)
